Hi, I'm Brendan. Like the Irish medieval explorer St. Brendan, I've always been drawn to exploring different cultures. From Irish roots and a Brazilian farm upbringing, my passion for food and travel began early. After exploring almost 50 countries and spending nine years in tech, I've settled in Spain, my true home. I'm excited to share my love for Spanish food and culture with you on a fun and engaging tour in lesser-known parts.

Brendan was a great guide to the Barcelona food scene. He has a wealth of knowledge about local foods and food culture, and also tied in great bits of history that made the tour an excellent intro to the city. Loved experiencing a classic breakfast, traditional tapas and market tastes.Fun foodie experience

Brendan was an incredible guide for our first night in Barcelona. It was a great way to see the city first hand through food, history and a local person to the area. Brendan was so knowledgeable about the traditions, local cuisine, and culture of the city. We visited 4 places that were quite unique to one another and were given tastes of both food and beverage that we had never had. He also worked with us when we had to push our reservation back due to travel delays. He stayed in communication, not only that day, but throughout our visit. He gave great recommendations for the rest of our trip and was all around a nice and fun guy to spend the evening with. He really tailored the experience to what we were interested in when it came to the history and cultural information. Would absolutely recommend to friends and family.Fantastic and informative food tour!

A friend recommended the WithLocals experiences so we booked a food tour with Brendan. We started with some churros and chocolate then had a beautiful walk through the old city down to the beach. Brendan was very knowledgeable about the history of this part of Spain. We wandered the streets looking for images of St. George and the dragon. We finished up at a very locals-only tapas bar where we sampled the local cuisine. I would recommend this experience and we thought that Brendan was very personable and his knowledge of the history and food of Catalan were a real plus. Great history and food

Great tour and way more than we paid for without question. My wife and I take food tours all the time. I have never been so full on a food tour. Great selections and great history with Brendan’s knowledge of the Barcelona area. It’s great to get more than you feel you paid for in a tour. Thanks BrandanBy John

Absolute must tour, especially if you’ve got a 48 hour stop off in Barcelona and want to see the sites, get off the beaten track and see Barcelona from a unique and refreshing perspective. Brendan’s knowledge was perfect for us. We like culture and history, but we liked his humour and the delivery as much as the content. Some fantastic quirky facts you wouldn’t get from a book. Brendan is well travelled speaks multiple languages and his story is as interesting as Barcelona itself. He made us feel so welcome in the city he has adopted as home and the places we visited were ‘real’ Barcelona.
