When I was 20 I had this wonderful experience of "goats keeping" in Ardèche, a dry and charming region. There goats are the kings and queens; happy with the very tasty food they find in the bushes. I stayed there 1 year and a half: taking care of the goats, milking them by hand, making cheese. In fact, I learned to prepare the delicious "picodons", a little round cheese that is very tasty that you can eat in each state of its duration. You can find it either very fresh, creamy or completely dry. The cheese I made was so tasty that I was very successful in selling them on the village's markets. Then I did a few different jobs, and about 6 years ago I decided to quit my job of manager in a pharmaceutical company and do what really appealed to me: become a cheese monger. I started a cheese training for a year and was delighted. I am now working in the lovely "Fromagerie des Buttes Chaumont" and really happy of the change and to be able to share this with you!

We really enjoyed our couple of hours with Catherine. It was super informative and the cheese was wonderful. If you want to do something a little different while in Paris, do this. Catherine is a joy and you will not regret it. Know, however, that the cheese shop is in the 19th arrondisement which is a 30 minute taxi drive from the center of Paris (we were on the Ile St. Louis). Totally worth it though! Informative, fun and delicious!Really Great Experience

It was my second trip to Paris and this time I was with my daughter. We wanted to do something memorable together and this was perfect. Catherine, our host, was very friendly and welcoming and we felt comfortable and relaxed throughout. You get a brief geography/history of France and the type of cheeses produced in various regions prior to tasting. Then comes the tasting accompanied by bread and wine (if you fancy). This is a lovely way to spend an afternoon and I have no hesitation recommending to others. Cheese tasting in Paris

Catherine was a great host and explained the regional cheeses and variations. it is hosted in a fromagerie, which means we get to see more than the 7 cheeses used for the tasting. If you are lover of cheese, and want to learn more about how they're made, why they vary, and the impact of seasons on the cheeses then this is for you. ! Tour of French cheeses

We had a wonderful afternoon with Catherine in her fromagerie. While sampling a great selection of cheeses and sipping wine we enjoyed good conversation and learned a great deal about French cheese as well as some insights into French culture. I highly recommend this experience.She was great!

My friend and I were in Paris for a long weekend, celebrating 25 years since were were students there. We enjoyed an absolutely wonderful afternoon with Catherine, despite arriving a bit harried, directly from the airport (due to flight delays). We wanted to practice our rusty French, and Catherine was game! We learned so much about cheese and enjoyed every bite. I highly recommend this tour!A wonderful afternoon with Catherine!
