Hi! I'm Ricky, your passionate and friendly tour guide in Japan. Originally from Indonesia, I’ve called Osaka my home for the past 8 years. Fluent in English and conversational Japanese, I bring a blend of international perspective and local expertise to every tour.

My passion for exploring Japan has taken me to 26 of its 47 prefectures (that's 55%!), including conquering the nation’s highest peak, Mt. Fuji (3,776 meters). I thrive on discovering local gems – from hidden shops and unique cuisines to fascinating historical spots. One of my guiding principles is that every city tells its story through its food, so I love introducing travelers to local delicacies crafted with regional flair.

We had a great time out with Ricky. He was able to explain some of the mysteries of what we had seen on our own in Japan. He very knowledgeable about the area we were touring as well as other cities we had visited. I admired the care he showed for locally owned businesses. One of the things I love about guided tours is the deeper level of understanding what is around me. He did a great job taking us below the surface level of things. Friendly, fun and knowledgeable

We had a great time last on the tasting tour of Osaka with Ricky. He was happy to talk about the city and our shared love of trying new foods. Many of the selections we wouldn't have picked out of the huge selection of food in the area and we are so glad he was there to help. We appreciated bringing g us to authentic local shops and sharing the history of the foods. If you are in Osaka we strongly recommend you give this tour and Ricky a try. We loved our tour with Ricky - he tailored the tour to our needs and took us to great spots we would not have found on our own! He was very flexible He even made great suggestions for spots for us to try on our own after the tour. Great food tour!

Our tour in Osaka with Ricky was good though we felt that the portions were maybe a bit too much and that maybe the Dotombori area would have been better to get a mix of smaller street food bites.Osaka food tour

One of the highlights was visiting Mount Fuji, standing tall and majestic, surrounded by vibrant autumn colors. It was surreal to see this iconic peak in person! Ricky was incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready to help and share Japan culture. I will never forget him who patiently taught me the art of choosing the perfect gyu-katsu—delicious and fun!Golden Route
