Derek was very knowledgeable on everything that we were wondering about in terms of Irish literature and Dublin! He was also very conversational, and also got us into a couple of different places due to connections and his overall familiarity with the subject. Nous avons fait un tour de Dublin avec Derek, qui était un guide sympathique et accessible. Il connaît bien l’histoire de la ville et du pays, en particulier les aspects religieux et politiques de l’Irlande. En tant qu’adultes, nous avons apprécié ses explications, même si certains passages étaient un peu complexes à suivre. En revanche, ce tour n’était pas vraiment adapté à nos enfants de 10 et 4 ans. L’approche très centrée sur l’histoire et la religion ne les a pas captivés. Ce serait peut-être mieux pour des ados. Cela dit, Derek est resté très aimable avec eux tout au long du parcours.

Derek hosted us for a 3 hour Dublin walking tour focused on the 1916 uprising. Very personable, great knowledge of the subject as well as other questions we had about Irish history and current affairs. Highly recommend himExcellent guide, very knowledgeable

My family spent an enjoyable morning on a walking tour with Derek to help us get to know the city of Dublin. We had many questions about Dublin's history and culture and Derek answered them all with patience and good humour. He is knowledgeable and kind and helpfully gave us recommendations for places and activities we might want to visit during our stay. A wonderful way to begin to explore a new to us city. Derek has an amazing command of the history and the culture of Dublin. This was exactly what we had hoped for and we had an excellent time. We stopped for tea and a delicious scone as well. We highly recommend Derek for your Dublin tour!Very Thorough Tour!

Derek was knowledgeable and personable. And patient since the rain and the traffic made us about 20 minutes late to our meeting point. The tour was a perfect intro to this magical and historic city, especially for folks like us who had only a short layover. I like that he talked about architecture as well as history: in a place like Ireland the two are very much connected. Enjoyable all around and very much recommended!Dublin in the Rain!
