We enjoyed our afternoon with Eduard—he’s warm, easy to talk to, and clearly familiar with some of the shopkeepers. His knowledge of the different chocolates was impressive, and we appreciated that he pre-purchased madeleines in case they sold out. That said, we were hoping for more depth and knowledge. We would have loved to hear more about the history of the foods and the stories behind the shops—their founders, regional significance, or signature dishes. When we tried to prompt for details, Eduard didn’t have much to share. A few stops felt less special than expected—for example, the chain chocolate shop—and the final savoury tasting was pleasant but not memorable. Logistics were a little bumpy: the tour’s start time and location were changed more than once without asking our preference. At the last stop, Eduard took the leftover cheese with him rather than offering it to us, even though we were the only guests and had paid ~500AUD for the experience. Overall, this is a relaxed introduction to local flavors and a good fit for casual visitors or first-timers, although if that is the case you would be better off on a group tour for a cheaper price. If you’re seeking a more polished, in-depth exploration of the city’s food culture and hidden gems, you might find it a bit light.

Ed was a perfect guide. He knows everything about Aix and shows you a lot of hidden gems. And you feel every minute how much he loves his hometown and the way of living there. We highly recommend him.Great experience

The Hidden Gems of Aix tour was wonderful. Our guide Edouard was knowledgeable, personable and engaging. He showed us a countless number of hidden gems. My group of ladies had a wonderful tour of Aix en Provence with Edouard. He gave us a fun, knowledgeable tour, sprinkled with historical facts. He made the city come to life for us and would use him again if we are fortunate enough to return. We loved Edouard and would highly recommend him for any tours of this area. After spending 4 days in Provence we decided to spend our last day eating. Edouard really knows his stuff. We truly enjoyed wandering around Aix with him and tasting the local specialties. He knows all the best spots for tasting and lunch. I recommend him enthusiastically.A lovely eating tour with Edouard

Ted is a delightful and engaging tour guide. He expertly led us through the streets of Aix, showed us the highlights and hidden gems and gave us the best and most delicious tastings along with a well thought out history lesson of the area. He was happy to change anything or go in any direction on a whim and tailored the tour to our interests as we went along. It was lovely getting to know Ted and Aix en Provence and his tours are highly recommended! Wonderful tour with Ted!
