"Hi, I'm Francesca Romana. Even my name explains my bond with this city!

My father's family arrived in Rome during the XVIII century and I feel as an integrated part of this city!

I work as a computer programmer, but I've always been interested in art history, especially in Rome. I studied Art History at the University to complete my knowledge and to have the chance to becaome a Tour Guide.

I decided to join ""Withlocals"" because I think it's a great idea to meet locals in their own country (I always try to assimilate all traditions when I go abroad) and because I'd like to share my knowledge with other people from all over the world!

Furthermore, now that I have two children, I feel the necessity to offer them the opportunity to get in touch with art and history, without being bored: that's the reason why I propose my tour principally for families, not excluding the other people, of course!

Francesca expertly led us on a tour of the Vatican museums and St Peter’s, just as the Conclave was beginning. We weren’t able to see the Sistine Chapel, but we nonetheless felt that we got a full experience. Francesca is a wealth of knowledge of the history of the Vatican, the popes, and the vast works on display in the museums. Fascinating Vatican tour

Fantastic tour of what would otherwise be a very difficult place to navigate. Francesca took the time to explain the background to what we were seeing, as well as linking it in to the current Conclave preparations. Communication was excellent, particularly around the changes required as a result of the passing of the current pope. She was also very flexible, ensuring that we got great value for money despite some of the Vatican imposed restrictions. Francesca was very friendly and approachable, making sure we were happy to ask questions and understood what we were seeing. She also made a great effort to accommodate the reduced mobility of my elderly mum, which was really appreciated. Highly recommended.Outstanding tour

Francesca navigated perfectly the crowds at Vatican museums during the busy funeral week, and managed to keep my kids (8 and 10 y.o.) entertained and interested! One immediately notices she is local, knows every corner in and out and demonstrates great passion about the venues she visits with tourists. Many many thanks Francesca.Great

Francesca was a godsend! She is extremely knowledgeable! Beyond her knowledge, she is a wonderful person. She patiently answered all of my questions in the months leading up to my trip. She helped us secure a fantastic driver. She was extremely patient with us and our elderly mother. She even helped me secure tickets to Easter Mass to be blessed by Pope Francis. There are not enough kind words nor enough stars in the sky to give her! She is the perfect guide.I cannot give her enough stars!

Francesca took us on an intense but very enjoyable tour of the Vatican museums. It would have been impossible to figure it out on our own in only a few hours time. We had the most wonderful tour of the Vatican Museums with Francesca. She is a captivating, interactive educator-- she taught us so much and thoroughly engaged our whole family. Her fund of knowledge about art history is truly remarkable... we could have listened to her all week! Wish we would have had more days with her in Rome because she is a fantastic teacher and tour guide! Would highly recommend Francesca! She's awesome!Francesca is amazing!

We had a wonderful few hours with Francesca at this amazing place. Francesca made the history come alive as we walked through the ancient port town, and we learned a lot about what the people’s daily lives there were like.
