To make MY Budapest YOUR Budapest is what motivates me, and I just can't get tired of it. Though I have an international background -- born in Romania, raised in California -- Hungarian is my mother tongue and I've lived more years in Budapest now than in any other city.

Coming from journalism, I started working for Withlocals.com as a tour captain, designing some of the original Budapest tours. That's when I realized how uplifting it is to be a tour host, plus it's also about communications. So here I am.

We had a 3-hour walk with Gabor around Budapest and it was amazing. He asked us questions when he first met us to know what we preferred to hear about and throughout the walking tour he would modify his talk based on what we knew and what we still had to learn. It was a perfect morning. We heard about Hungarian history (and the history of all Central Europe) and he gave us specific notes about buildings and restaurants that was very helpful to understand the city. We had 2 adults and 2 teenagers and we all loved it. Take a tour with Gabor - you will very much enjoy it. History, Culture, and People

So fortunate to have experienced an amazing tour of Budapest! Wish we were here for more time to explore the other suggestions provided while touring. Gabor's historical and city knowledge was truly super and he personalized the tour for our needs. We enjoyed all the information and sights Gabor B shared with us. We were a group of 4 adults and after a few emails, and a short discussion when we met Gabor, he was able to tailor a walk for us. We went to areas we had not explored and also streets we had walked prior,— and didn’t realize the history we had just passed by. Thank you Gabor for a highly informative and candid two-hour food tour in Budapest's Central Market Hall. We enjoyed hearing about the area's rich culinary culture, history and of course, its love affair with paprika! We sampled a variety of sweet and savoury local foods and enjoyed each bite. I especially loved Marika and her pickles, and the grilled sausage was excellent. We had some of our leftover chimney cake with coffee this morning. Gabor is a very experienced guide with a vast amount of knowledge about history, architecture and politics. We know the city quite well but he still has found a way to tailor the tour to our interests and entertain us with a lot of stories we hadn’t heard of before. Very knowledgeable

Gabor took my mom, sister, and I from Heroes Square all the way past St. Stephen's, the Opera, and Parliament and across the river to Buda and the Castle District. He taught us about Hungarian history - pointed out architectural details - patiently answered our questions - treated us to coffee and a snack. He tailored the tour to our requests. Seriously, I cannot recommend him enough. It was a great experience! Thank you!!Knowledgeable, thorough and entertaining!

We had a wonderful day with Gabor. A personalized tour with lots of insider knowledge. We like to see places from a local point of view and this was a comprehensive and interesting focus for both key sites and unique places. Gabor is very well educated and shares detailed knowledge of history, culture, architecture, daily life and so much more. He listens to his guests and tailors his talks to your interests. He is perfectly fluent in English and Hungarian and very friendly and kind. We highly recommend his services. Flexibility and comfort are a high priority for him.
