Immigrated to Christchurch 19 years ago and have been involved with creative education and community events ever since. I have a keen interest for exploring the affordable, fun and unique kinds of things to do in the city ...especially in the very accessible nearby outdoor areas. I also carry a Passenger endorsement license, (so feel free to ask about custom day trips to wine country, the peninsula, mountains out west, or Kaikoura upcoast). I treat you as if you were family, with honest, quirky informalities and off-the-cuff commentaries from a "middle-aged" perspective. I can carry a discussion about most topics, but key points of interest for me are foods and art (...and where they intersect).

We enjoyed learning about ChristChurch - a city with so much history. Gaby really knows his craft … sharing stories & information about surviving the tragedies after the earthquakes of 2010 & 2011 disrupted everything. A great tour showing a wonderful city in the making.Enlightening Tour with Gaby

We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour with Gaby. He loves his city and did a fantastic job telling us about the history of the city, the effect the earthquake has had on it, and gave us great ideas for where to return for meals, shopping, etc.Great introduction to Christchurch

On my wifes birthday I had arranged a surprice (and my wife hate surprises) which she wont forget ever. Actually it was so succesfull that ske forgot how much pain she had in her right knee during the walk through the old/new part of Christsgurch. Thanks for an exelent guiding with fokus on histore, art and the recinstructing of the city after the latest earthquake. Se you next time were passing by Steffen Five stars experience with Gaby

We had a wondeeful tour witb Gaby yesteeday. This was my second time to Christchurch, but firat time hiring a guide. Gaby was perfrct. He knows this town very well and the tour was very informaative. We learned a lot about it’s history, the neighborhoods, the post-earthquake recovery, and the city’s new identity. I highly recommend hiring Gaby as yoir guide. I travel for a living and work with guides all over the world. I really appreciated Gaby’s tour and how he presented it.Wonderful Tour

We had a very nice walking tour of the city with many stops to enjoy different types of eating and drinking establishments. Gaby knows his city well and showed us both sweet, savory, and alcoholic locations. The sites were chosen for both the food and/or the interesting location. We did not want to over eat and Gaby adjusted our tour more for tasting than to fill up on food. To top it off, we learned about the Māori language that he is studying.City tour with food stops

Gaby was wonderful - knowledgeable, engaging and a joy to share the afternoon with. He offered an insiders perspective to one of the most difficult periods in Christchurch’s history and the impact that it has had on the rebuilding of the city.
