I'm fun loving, honest, very caring and I love showing people around my city. I'm a people's person. Super friendly. I was fortunate enough to have traveled. I loved Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Argentina and Uruguay. My ultimate favourite hobby is food. I love cooking and showing people the hidden gems of the city. I'm more about the true authentic experience that you will have, I'm not just a guide. I've got real family stories that got passed on from my 96 yr old grandma. You will have an Authentic coloured person of Cape Town. If you want the Authentic Cape Town experience with stories of the past during apartheid days being told by locals, and some of the usual stuff, then I'm the person for you. My wife and I booked this tour 24 hours in advance and we are so glad we did. Gilbert showed us around town and we were able to learn about the culture of the city while enjoying great food along the way! He is a wealth of knowledge and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure his guests have a great experience. Gilbert was Great!

Knowing nothing about Cape Town, I left it up to Gilbert to decide what to show me. Gilbert was a great, informative guide, giving lots of history, as well as showing me the sights! I thoroughly enjoyed our time together ! Gilbert is well spoken and passionate about his city.Informative and time well spent !

My boyfriend and I wanted to take a tour of Bo Kaap and Woodstock to learn some history and the city's hidden gems. Gilbert exceeded all our expectations: it was supposed to be a 3-hour tour, but in 5 hours he showed us so much more. He was an excellent guide, it felt like we were in a documentary. Gilbert is very knowledgeable about the history of his city and tells it with such passion and enthusiasm. Highly recommended!! Thanks Gilbert. It was a super tour that we will remember forever :)Great tour in Cape Town!

If you want to learn the history behind the beautiful Capetown then highly recommend booking with Gilbert for a tour. Visited all the sites, had some yummy local snacks and tea. It was an easy slow walk but absolutely beautiful. And very safe Must do in Capetown

We had an amazing tour with Gilbert, perfect for our first day in Capetown! We were introduced to many local food specialties including bunny chow, chakalaka, rooibos tea, the famous gatsby sandwich and more. Come hungry!! Gilbert was incredibly generous with his time, showed us many of the city sights and gave us a huge dose of South African history…from the Dutch East Indian Company to the Boer wars to how apartheid and its racial classifications impacted his family and the local communities, leaving a legacy that continues to shape politics and socioeconomic conditions today. We highly recommend Gilbert as a fantastic guide for any kind of Capetown tour! Capetown with Gilbert not to be missed!

Had a great day with Gilbert, we requested a city tour with only 3hours notice. Quick to respond he was eager to show us his hometown. We could tell how passionate he was about his culture and there was no question he did not have an answer. Great Day in the City

We booked a private tour with Gilbert based on previous reviews and we weren’t disappointed. Gilbert personalised the tour based on our requests, but still managed to pack in an enormous amount of history and current affairs as we walked around the city from eatery to eatery. He kept a group of adults, young adults and teenagers enthralled for four hours. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone - make sure you’re hungry before you go as the food is plentiful!Gastronomic History Tour

We were a party of 3, and Gilbert made us feel as though we were a part of his family! He is so very friendly and informative! There is no way we could have experienced and learned so much on our own! He took us to so many behind-the-scenes places that most tourists like us don’t get to experience. He is authentic Cape Town and hope to use him as our guide again one day. Best Cape Town guide!
