Hi, I'm Jelena – a licensed tour guide in Dubrovnik with over 12 years of experience, and a passionate storyteller with a background in journalism and cultural studies.

Before returning to the coast, I spent 15 years in Zagreb, where I worked as a journalist and was honored with the Croatian Journalists’ Association Award in 2013 for my reporting. I hold a degree in Literature and Ethnology, and my love for history and human stories has followed me throughout my career – from the newsroom to the cobbled streets of Dubrovnik.

What can you expect from a tour with me? Think of it as a walk with a friend – someone who knows the city's history inside out, but also shares what it's like to live here today. I’m especially passionate about exploring Dubrovnik’s role in the Yugoslav wars, life under Tito’s communism (which I experienced as a child), and the rich, complex story of this stunning walled city.

Our guide was incredible, she was not only very friendly but had so much knowledge and history of Dubrovnik and also of Game of Thrones. She made this tour great! It was wonderful to meet someone so proud of where they are from.Best City Tour of Dubrovnik and Game of Thrones!!

Jelena might be the best person to give a tour of Dubrovnik and an additional background of the Game of Thrones filming in the city. She brings her personal knowledge and experience as a journalist, as a native to the area, and as someone who lived through the homeland war to talk in depth about the history of the city. She was also present in the city when Game of Thrones was being filmed and has fun, personal anecdotes and pictures from that time. Overall, this was an extremely worthwhile introduction to the city. I would highly recommend this to anyone coming to visit, particularly if you plan to be here for a few days and want someone to show you around.History of Dubrovnik and GoT tour

The best tour you can have in Dubrovnik. Jelena brilliantly mixed the history and facts of the Old Town with the Game of Thrones scene locations. You will get tons of information and interesting facts on this tour. Highly recommend!!Amazing experience

We chose this as one of our first activities during our stay in Dubrovnik - it was perfect for getting acclimated to the Old Town before we explored on our own. Jelena is very knowledgeable on both GOT + Dubrovnik as a whole and was an amazing guide, had great tips / recommendations on other things to do in Dubrovnik. We had a wonderful experience to the Game of Thrones tour. clearly passionate about our guide, Jelena, was incredibly knowledgeable and extremely passionate about the Dubrovnik and Croatian history, which brought the location to life just beyond the location spots. She shared her life experience as a Croatian through the war and post-war times. She kept an easy comfortable pace throughout the tour and was always considerate of the group, often stopping at shaded areas for breaks as it was during the summer when we visited. She provided great visual aids which helped us connect scenes from Game of Thrones to our actual location. We highly recommend this tour and Jelena!!GoT tour

From start to finish it was non stop. We learned so much on the history of Croatia plus GOT . We were amazed at jeanas (Jelena's) dept of knowledge. Definitely recommendGOT and City walls tour

Jelena is a fantastic guide! She was funny, patient, warm, and extremely knowledgeable about the area. The tour was paced well, and appropriate for different levels of Game of Thrones fans. It was the perfect blend of history and GoT tidbits (she was there while the filming occured, and so has some really cool behind-the-scenes info and pictures). Jelena also had a snack break in the middle of the tour and recommended some fantastic places to stop by. Would HIGHLY recommend Jelena's tour!!Fantastic tour!! Highly recommend Jelena!!

Amazing tour. Jelena was an excellent tour guide. Full of enthusiasm & knowledge. Her passion shone through. We certainly enjoyed the tour.
