After living in Porto for six years, this ladybug knows every spot in town.

Hello there, my name is Joana. I moved from Brazil to Portugal and fell in love with the city. When I heard about this hosting job, I thought it was a great opportunity to show people why this city is the best. The food is amazing, the people are kind and welcoming and the history this city carries is mindblowing, and I intend to show you all of this.

My top two places are probably Palácio de Cristal, with all the peacocks and the breathtaking view, and Parque da Cidade, a great place for a walk or a picnic. Besides that, I'm addicted to ice cream, so I know all the best ice cream shops from downtown to Matosinhos.

If you are looking for a host with a lot of energy and a great sense of humor, I'm your girl!

Joana was kind and accommodating, but felt inexperienced and unprepared as a tour guide. She didn't secure tickets to the bookstore -- a highlight of the tour we chose -- which she explained upfront was due to them being sold out and apologized. But sufficient forward planning would have made it relatively easy to have purchased them. This mishap seemed to throw her a bit, and the tour felt disorganized and unclear as to what the plan was. She did try to recover, gave us some thoughtful anecdotes and engaged effectively with our young kids for portions, but although it was overall nice to meet her and hear her story we couldn't reccomend her fully as a tour guide based on our experience. Joana was great! Great personality and knowledgeable about her city. Along the way we got to know her and her background and felt we had made a friend by the end of the tour. She even took the time after the tour to send us detailed recommendations about places to eat and other places to see. We highly recommend her!Great experience with Joana

We really enjoyed our introduction to Porto with Joana. She has a wonderful knowledge of the city and its history and share with us many lovely stories of Porto’s past. We highly recommend Joana! Plus she followed up with a number of recommendations too!Bright and charming host
