Ciao! I'm Laura, a Sicilian jazz vocalist & songwriter turned New Yorker tour guide. I'm a total extrovert, I love meeting people and sharing not only the Highlights of this magical city but also my personal experiences as an immigrant to the Big Apple. I landed in New York City in 2010 and fell in love with its rough and electric vibe. I moved to the Big Apple to work as a performer, and to make ends meet I've also held jobs as a private teacher, baby sitter, waitress, translator, personal assistant at the university level, and columnist, until in 2018 I started working as a tour guide. That was a game changer for me, for in tourism I found a great new love!

I am a licensed NYC sightseeing tour guide and have been working since 2018 with a variety of companies from the US & around the world. Italian is my first language but I'm also fluent in English and Spanish.

My love for languages, history and art, mixed with my 20+ years of professional experience on stage and my outgoing, friendly personality make me a warm and fun tour guide who can connect with people from all walks of live to provide an AUTHENTIC and UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE.

I am a proud Sicilian, wife to my wonderful husband and best friend Joe, a dog and cat mom with a deep love for pets and animals in general. I am a foodie and a bit of a goofball. I am a Buddhist and I'm very passionate about social justice. You can say I'm radically inclusive ;)

I am always up for a heart-to-heart conversation, funny jokes and to take your pictures! I believe happiness is true only if shared and I look forward to sharing my happiness with you!

Laura, was friendly and very knowledgeable. Understanding the history of New York and how the financial industry developed was fascinating. I've been to the 911 site many times and was delighted to discover new pieces of it. Was over all a great tour. The only down points (of course beyond her control) were noisy construction and blocked views. Laura was terrific!

Il tour di Dyker Heights con Laura è stato fantastico! Lei è gentilissima, ti spiega moltissime cose anche sugli altri quartieri di New York che si attraversano per arrivare a Dyker Heights. È stata sempre disponibilissima per farci le foto, darci consigli e chiarire ogni nostro dubbio. Laura is amazing! Her extensive knowledge allowed her to share many interesting facts about everything we saw. Herfriendly, relaxed, manner made the experience a pleasure. She offered flexible options for the our four hour itinerary which allowed me to follow my interests as they arose. I appreciated her sitting with me before we started to discuss our plan for the time. I will definitely book with Laura again and am thankful that Tours by Locals reached out to her when a last minute change of guide was required.Laura Is Amazing!

Our day with Laura Campisi was absolutely great. She paced the activity to accommodate my 10-year-old granddaughter, and still made it very interesting and fun for her. We both enjoyed it very much and would recommend Laura to anyone wanting to maximize their time in NYC.Absolutely Great!
