I am Madhavendra, or Mona - as my family and friends call me, and I invite you to experience the beauty of this amazing country on one of my personalised tours! I am a local Delhiite, with a passion for everything the city has to offer: culture, history, heritage, food, photography...

I am a traveler myself, with immersive cultural experience being my favorite style! In my free time, I like reading books, cooking Indian food, watching movies, or simply walking through the colorful streets of Delhi!

My areas of specialisation include the capital city of Delhi (my home since 2015), and the city of the Taj Mahal - Agra (an enriching day trip from Delhi).

I had a wonderful day with guide Mona! Thanks to the light traffic and great timing, we managed to see a lot in a relaxed way. Mona also took me to some hidden gems that made the tour truly unique. He is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and makes you feel very comfortable throughout the day. What I really appreciated is that he listens, thinks along with you, and is flexible with the program, so the experience feels very personal and tailored. Highly recommended!Perfect Experience

We book Mona for our first day touring in new Delhi and for an introduction to the city and we are glad we did. Mona was a great guide for us throughout, knowledgeable and adaptable to our needs and asks. it was a great way to be introduced to the city and its people and we had a full on and really enjoyable day. Mona was quick to communicate with us before our travel to organize the day, and also had plenty of options for us to choose from and re-adjust in the moment, as part of the city was, unexpectedly, closed due to a foreign state visit during our tour. Mona brought us to the top sights which was the main advantage of this tour. He ensured we did not have to bother with buying tickets, avoiding the street sellers etc. The driver was a very pleasant person and an excellent driver. However there were some points which were not so good: 1. Mona was very bossy and sometimes rude to me - an absolut no go for a guide. 2. his knowledge was limited, he insisted that we cannot visit the royal rooms of the palace in Jaipur. I have read about it and showed him on the internet so he was then forced to organize the tickets. This means I almost missed one of the highlights of the trip. 3. Mona made several times harassing statements and I felt very uncomfortable about it. An absolut no go. I told him several times I am absolutely not interested in any of these things. Conclusion: great tour, but I would choose another guide next time.Great sights

This booking was my first time using WithLocals.com and I could not be more thrilled with the experience! Mona was absolutely fantastic from the moment I messaged him on the site to the moment we left India. He was accommodating, knowledgeable, informative, and all around fun to spend time with in Delhi and Agra. He tailored our experience to the things we were most excited to explore, guided us to visit sites at just the right time (considering peak times/crowds and heat), and was a wealth of information about each city, site, and the culture. He was also considerate and thoughtful, making sure we were prepared for each little thing, from what to expect with potential interactions with domestic tourists (they were excited to see blonde hair! ;) to making sure we understood the social norms with using a public restroom during a road trip (bring your own TP and tip the attendant). We felt informed and safe wherever we went, which was especially important to us as three women traveling by ourselves. We are excited to return to India and are already planning our next trip with Mona! Can’t wait!!Fantastic guide, will book again!

It was easy to chat with Mona (Madhavendra) and we were very much looking forward to meeting him and our tour. Unfortunately we were hit with Delhi belly the night before our tour and had to cancel. Certainly his communication skills are great and I have no doubt we would have enjoyed the tour.Great Communication!

Mana managed to tailor my visit to Delhi to fit all my needs. Well designed tour, excellent knowledge of India’s history and art. I enjoyed every minute of the 8 hour tour. Best of the beat

Visiting a place as exotic as India for the first time (and as a senior citizen) can be daunting. I took my time in choosing a guide. My sister has some mobility issues and I was concerned for her safety and comfort. I also wanted a guide I could converse and enjoy while driving long distances and feeling safe. I chose wisely. Mona (as he likes to be called)is a 25 year old university graduate who speaks 6 languages. His conversations of the things we were passing, were not academic. They were masterful 'story telling'. This is a young man born in India with an intense pride in his country who very much wanted US to see his country through HIS eyes. He is quickly building an impressive list of clients, and rightfully so. Mona was very aware of my sisters limitations and, along with our amazing driver Kamel, made her trip effortless with their care and concern. Mona has an wonderful sense of humor (something important to me when I travel) and an ability to know when were were getting tired and needed to redirect. Mona made it clear that the itinerary we were following, was only as good as the moment we were in, and was quick to make any adjustments for our comfort. Mona became 'family'. I highly recommend, after booking him, that you show him your possible hotel choices and let him help guide you to a hotel that meets your needs, in this very large county. Mona also appreciated my being a 'foodie' and took us to marvelous places experiencing the foods of the area. There were no bounds on his a ability to make us comfortable. India is a place of textures and great history and lushness, greatly enhanced by Mona's knowledge and personal care. Don't miss this opportunity.
