Hola! Encantado de conocerte

Mamoru

Hi everyone! I'm Mamoru, a native of Fukui who has an experience of living overseas. I have been a tour guide since 2015 after passing a national tour guide certification test. Since then, I have conducted countless private tours mainly in Tokyo/Kanto area until 2020.

In 2020 I came back to my hometown of Fukui and began offering tours again in 2023 after the pandemic. I now provide private tours in Fukui and Kanazawa area throughout a year.

I have a great passion for food especially local food. As a food lover, I always try to find great places to eat whenever I travel. I'm also a sushi chef, so I can offer in-depth information about sushi and other aspects of Japanese cuisine. I have a sweet tooth as well, and love exploring different types of bakeries and confectionary shops to sample their treats. Japanese sweets can be mysterious to many foreign travelers, so it will be great for you to visit local shops with a local guide.

Another passion that I have is for trains. If you are a train enthusiast, I will be the perfect guide to introduce to you to Japan's amazing railways.
