Hola! Encantado de conocerte

When about 20 years ago I moved in Tuscany from the Veneto region,

where I grow up, I had no projects for my life, just a lot of passions.

My desire was just living in what I still consider one of the most beautiful places in the world.

And I did.

I got a degree in history of Art at the University of Florence and I

became a professional tour guide.

Geniuslooci is the name of my project without a project:

a way to discover and, above of all, to understand this

incredible region through the lens of art, history, food

and nature. In a few words: understand the Spirit of

Tuscany.

Spontaneity, curiosity and simplicity are the words that

inspire me everyday when I try to share the fascinating culture of this land.

Sustainability is the compass I follow to make it concrete.

Marco was a great guide. We enjoyed the entire 3 hours of the private tour that he gave us of Florence. The information was interesting, digestible and a good overview of the history of the city and the key figures during the Renaissance period. Fantastic tour of Florence!

Marco was an exceptional guide and art history teacher during our day in Florence. He brought the city’s rich past to life with fascinating stories about powerful families, cunning leaders, and brilliant artists who shaped the world from the height of the Roman Empire through the Dark Ages and into the rebirth of the Renaissance. He frequently adjusted the tour to match our interests, knowledge, and even our food cravings. Marco’s tour heightened our experience by incorporating both Medici and Demidoff tales as well as the Italian concept of perspective to build the biggest and boldest villa of its time. The Villa is gone now but the family chapel remains and of course the 35” tall colossus sculpture. He engaged us with the battle and betrayal of two Medici brothers vying for the Grand Duke title. Franchesco was the first born renaissance man as grand Duke and the second brother Fernando was the second born cardinal who wanted the power and title. Gratzie Marco for the memories.You rock Marco! We had such a great tour with Marco. He was incredibly knowledgeable and took us around the highlights of the Uffizi. Learnt so much about italian renaissance art in an engaging way. Would highly recommend Marco as a guide Amazing tour of Uffizi gallery

He is a great art historian who was able to shepherd us through the large collection and give us a more complete background on the amazing works of art. He is professional, patient, and kind. One of the absolute best tours we’ve ever done. After many trips to Firenze over the last ten years, we finally had the chance to explore Fiesole and Marco was the perfect guide. He was engaging, personable, incredibly knowledgeable and a joy to spend three hours with learning the vast history and culture of the area. Fiesole is a hidden gem with a fascinating history dating to the Etruscans. A highlight of the tour was the ruins of the Roman theater complete with temple and spa, and Marco’s ability to bring it to life and create vivid imagery of what it would have looked like in its prime was spectacular. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history and culture of this rich area and if you’re lucky enough to get Marco as your guide you’ll come away much richer! We absolutely loved our tour with Marco and came away with a far deeper understanding about the history of Florence, the Renaissance Artists and their work. We would suggest you do this at the beginning of your trip as there will be things you want to further explore in Florence as a result. Marco is very knowledgeable, engaging and a gentleman. We would wholeheartedly recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in understand this fasinating period of history.

This was truly an unforgettable visit of the Uffizi, my parents gave me a birthday present a guided visit of the Uffizi for me and my 3 friends with Marco, and this was such a wonderful experience. Marco adapted the visit to what we wanted to see, our pace and always put things in context. He patiently answered all our questions and there were many! He was captivating, shared many anecdotes and was very generous with his time. I am so grateful and could not have asked for a better guide.
