Matea was a wonderful guide and a truly engaging presence throughout our visit. We have thought a lot about whether we should write this review or not, but in the end, we decided to do so as a courtesy to other tourists. To preface, Matea seemed like a wonderful, kind, and intelligent person. However, our tour experience was lacking, to say the least. We have done many private tours across the globe but haven’t had such a lukewarm experience in a long time. Honestly, we might as well have bought a map of Stockholm with brief descriptions of buildings and sights—it would have provided about the same level of information. For example, we were told things like, “This building was finished in the 17th century,” and that would be the end of the story. Moreover, we felt like we had to put real effort into keeping the conversation going. Otherwise, Matea would remain silent for long stretches of time, which made it feel like we were just walking the streets with a random stranger we’d met by chance. We often had to ask about things of interest to us before being told about it (for example, the writing on the ancient Viking tombstone that would not have been mentioned had we not asked about it). We are sure that the guide can do much better—and perhaps she often does—but unfortunately, that was not the case during our tour.Dissappointing experiece

Matea was wonderful. She is super personable. She gave us historical information as well as cultural insight. She also treated us to Fika in a really cute old cafe. Specifically really enjoyed talking about world news and Sweden's current viewpoint in world politics as well. I would highly recommend her! Very personable and fun

Matea is a fantastic tour guide. On our arrival day we did the Kickstarter Tour which was the perfect way to see the city. We can highly recommend Matea!

We had a great 2 hour tour with Matea. She was very knowledgeable about Stockholm and gave wonderful suggestions on what to see and where to eat. It was great way to get familiar with the city on our first day. Highly recommend!Great Tour

Matea gave my friends and me a really great tour! She showed us all around Gamla Stan, pointing out little gems we definitely would've missed, and also told us some funny stories about the area! She answered all our questions about Swedish culture, and what it's like to live in Stockholm, and we all learnt a ton. Thanks so much!Fantastic Intro to Stockholm!

We did the City Kickstart Tour: Stockholm on our first full day in the city. What a great way to start our visit of wonderful Stockholm. Our guide, Matea, was fabulous! She gave us a great foundation of the layout of the city which made getting around easier on our remaining four days. Matea also shared such interesting stories about the city and the stops we visited. After the tour, Matea sent me additional information and tips on restaurants and historical sites that we had discussed during our tour. If this is your first trip to Stockholm, I would highly recommend doing the Kickstart Tour with Matea!Great Start in Stockholm

Matea is a personable, very informative, informative guide. In the short 3 hours we covered a lot of ground at a pleasant pace. We found the time went so quickly and we are so delighted we met Matea.Stockholm at its best
