Hi, I’m Maxime. I was born and raised in Paris, where I studied philosophy and history. I enjoy eating, reading, learning, and climbing (join me on Sunday evenings if you’re up for it!). But enough of the basics—let’s dive into the details.

While I love pedaling quickly along the banks of the Seine—the only riverbank listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site!—my true motto when exploring Parisian streets or wandering through museums is to take my time.

You might think one of my favorite things to do in Paris is to wake up early, sip a good coffee, and stroll in the soft morning light. Romantic? Absolutely. Unique? Without a doubt. It’s a magical way to experience the city before the crowds arrive. But do I do this often? Let’s be honest I’m just like you. I usually prefer to stay in bed, even in a city as enchanting as Paris.

So, what do I actually do regularly? Let me share a few examples:

I love wandering into bookshops, reading in a row the back covers of books without buying a singe one just to get a glimpse into an author’s mind.

I enjoy tasting new foods or drinks and giving my personal assessment, as if I were a food critic. (I’m not one—at least, not yet!)

And finally, I can stand for hours in front of a painting, jotting down my thoughts in a pocket notebook. Sometimes I return the next day with more insights; other times, I move on to painting entirely new.

Choose me as your guide, and I’ll show you Paris and its museums through my eyes. I always strive to blend my personal perspective with accurate, well-researched information. But the real challenge—and what I love most—is adapting my tours to your interests and expectations. Let’s explore the city together and create unforgettable moments!

Maxime is extremely knowledgeable about Grecian statuary and its place in Western Classical art, but if you want a personable tour of the highlights of the Louvre, look for someone else.Not What We Hoped For

Maxine was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the food, the historical significance and progression of the neighborhood. He was very patient with my boisterous kids and it was a very memorable and delicious day.

Maxime was gracious enough to extend our time with him to be sure we did not feel rushed and could get a true feeling for the Montmartre area. He took us to a few small vignettes which I feel sure we wouldn't have found on our own. We were pleased with his candid answers to questions about his life and educational opportunities and what living in Paris is like for many. He was personable and by the end of out hours together, we felt a genuine connection!Montmartre explored to the fullest

Unique and lovely private tour of the Marais with Maxime. He’s a well-read native Parisian who enjoys sharing stories and sites in the Marais that aren’t just the usual. Nice pace and enjoyable. Philosophic in the Marais

Maxine was a great guide and communicated very well in English. We had everything from quiche ( learned the history ), chocolate & macarons, oysters ( learned about oyster farming & regions), cheese, coffee, a stop at Les Choupettes! Wir hatten eine tolle Tour in Montmartre! Weil montags einige geschäfte geschlossen sind hatte Maxime käse, wein und brot bereits besorgt und dieser teil der verkostung fand in einem kleinen Park statt, sehr schön. Eine Austernverkostung gab es auch und wir kennen und schmecken jetzt die Unterschiede.!Unterhaltsame Tour mit Maxime

Maxime was a great host for our time. He not only treated us to great food and drinks, but he also gave us a lot of insight into the history of Paris and the architecture of the area. My son and I also enjoyed engaging in some philosophical conversations with him (at our instigation; Maxime was not pushy at all). It was just a great experience all around.Terrific experience

Maxime went above and beyond to not only show us the best eating spots near us, but to tell us about the history of places we passed and recommendations for spots outside the area as well. He was extremely nice and we had a wonderful time on our tour!!Amazing Guide!!!
