Greetings to all! I'm Maga, a licensed professional tour guide with over two decades of experience under my belt.owner of tour guide maga.

What truly sets me apart is the unique blend of academic expertise and cultural connection. As an archaeologist with both a master’s and PhD degrees, I bring deep knowledge and authentic insights to every tour. Fluent in Arabic, English, and Russian, I easily connect with guests from around the world, making your journey through Egypt not just informative but truly immersive and personal.

My adventure in this field began in 1999 when I acquired my tour guide license. Since then, I've been on a quest to unveil the treasures of Egypt. Having graduated from FOTH in the same year, my academic journey has been closely intertwined with my passion for heritage and culture.

Throughout my career, I've explored the diverse landscapes of Egypt, from the serene shores of Sharm El-Shiekh and Hurghada to the bustling streets of Cairo and Alexandria. I've also delved deep into the heart of Egypt, uncovering the hidden gems of Middle and Upper Egypt.

With meticulous care, I've organized and led more than 3000 tours, consistently maintaining 5-star standards and receiving rave reviews from satisfied travelers. My commitment to excellence is unwavering, and I am always eager to provide you with a rich and unforgettable experience.

I earned my bachelor's degree in 1999 from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Helwan University. In 2020, I obtained my master’s degree in Heritage Conservation and Site Management through a joint program between Helwan University, the German Archaeological Institute (DAI), and the University of Technology Brandenburg (BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg) in Germany. In 2025, I proudly completed my PhD in Archaeology, further deepening my expertise in Egypt’s cultural heritage and archaeological legacy.

My journey as a tour leader and guide began in 1999, right after obtaining my bachelor's degree. I have been dedicated to this profession, sharing my passion for exploration and culture.

From 2003 until the present day, I've been thriving as a freelance tour guide, continuously expanding my knowledge and expertise to provide exceptional experiences for travelers like you.

We had a wonderful and highly enriching experience with Maga. My wife is vision impaired, and Maga was incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and responsive to my wife's needs. His knowledge and insights took us back through the history of this must-see historical landmark giving another dimension to our experience. We spent a fascinating half day exploring the Egyptian Museum with Maga. As an archaeologist, Maga brings great insight into the history of Egypt and it's pharoahs. However, if you only want to see and hear the usual stories, Maga probably isn't the first choice. He had taken on board what we were interested in and did his best to show us everything we wanted to see. He showed us many fascinating, and often overlooked, key exhibits, as well as the unmissable ones such as Tutankhamen. We had made the mistake of booking a Friday afternoon, so our time was limited. Thank you for Maga for taking us around the Pyramids of Giza, Dahshur (Bent Pyramid), and Saqqara! It was wonderful hearing about the pyramids through an academic perspective - Maga is an archaeologist who has worked on the pyramids and has a PhD degree (working on a second one)! We learned so much today and he answered all of our questions as best as he could. The Giza pyramids were grand, Bent Pyramid was a workout (although worth going to), and Saqqara had beautiful mastabas! He also had amazing food recommendations for us around town and the car was super comfortable. Highly recommended!Learned so much about the pyramids!

Mohammed is a wonderful guide and storyteller of ancient Egypt. He is, first of all, a professional archaeologist, which is why his excursions are special and go through the main places, but not along standard tourist paths. He will tell and show you amazing things of ancient Egypt, culture and art. Personal qualities: decent, responsible, punctual, speaks Russian well. First of all, I recommend him to the professional community of archaeology, there will be a good exchange of experience. We were in Cairo at the end of February 2021. We ordered 4 days of excursions for 6 people from Mohammed (Magamed). From the very beginning, we liked the guide's attitude to organizing excursions. We agreed on everything via WhatsApp, he responded as quickly and clearly as possible. Good, understandable Russian. For the six of us, we were provided with a minibus with a separate driver and a security guard from the tourist police (according to the laws of the country, groups of more than 5 people must be accompanied by security). Mohammed himself was our guide for two days out of four. This was the day when we saw the Cairo Museum and the Pyramids of Giza and the day with the pyramids of Dahshur and Saqqara. Magnificent excursions, conducted with soul, a lively, professional story from an archaeologist specialist. You can feel the love for his profession and the desire to convey this love to the listener. We learned a lot of things that you will not find in any guidebook, visited places that you would hardly get to if you visited on your own. Mohammed organized two other excursions (a sightseeing tour of Cairo with a visit to the camel market near Cairo and another excursion to Alexandria) with other guides, those who can show their hometown better, know every corner well. All the excursions were eventful. I also really liked the guide in Cairo, but compared to other guides, Mohammed is the best! In addition to his professional qualities, he is a very nice person, intelligent, calm, smiling. I can safely recommend Mohammed to everyone as an excellent guide and organizer. When visiting Cairo, choose Maga as your guide! He is perfect for both: visiting Islamic Cairo and visiting the wonders of ancient Egypt. My teenage son and I spent two individually tailored days with him. He opened our eyes in fascinating and unexpected ways whereever we went. He knows it all, and he knows how to transfer his knowledge. Highly professional, very polite, and very accomodating to all one's need throughout the day. Maga is the best! Absolutely perfect!
