Greetings!

I am Ali, a PhD graduate in Anthropology from Hiroshima University. For the past four years, I have been living in Hiroshima, immersing myself in the local customs and traditions. I am honored to be a "Tourism Ambassador" selected by the Hiroshima Tourism Association.

With three years of experience giving tours in Hiroshima and Miyajima, I have a deep appreciation for the unique history and culture of this region. Hiroshima is a city with a profound historical significance, known worldwide for its resilience and peace advocacy following the tragic events of World War II. The city's rich history, from its ancient feudal past to its modern-day role as a symbol of peace, offers a wealth of insights and learning opportunities.

I am eager to share my insider tips and local secrets with you. As your tour host, I am committed to providing a personalized and authentic experience tailored to your interests. Ali was a wonderful tour guide. We got confused with our timing, and he was very flexible. He clearly knows everything about the Hiroshima peace Park, museum. and memorials and had a charming and efficient way of communicating the information to our family. I recommend Ali and this tour without reservations.Ali is warm, knowledgeable, flexible

We had a wonderful tour with Ali, his historical and local knowledge was excellent. And to top it he is also an anthropologist. So we had the benefit of hear the stories through many lenses. At the end of the tour Ali took us to a local restaurant one the the and his wife favour. We never would have found it ourselves A hidden gem. Apologies I can’t find the name of it. After a lengthy unexpected delay getting off our ship Ali worked hard to reschedule our day. He reworked local transportation, got us through crowded sections of the Hiroshima memorial, had great insights to share with our group and finished our experience with a wonderful okinomiaki. While the day presented challenges beyond his control, he managed to pull off a full tour for us. All in all, a special day to remember.Hiroshima

Wow! Ali was an exceptional host. I was hesitant to send my grandparents off on their own with a stranger in a city where they don’t speak the language, but Ali was accommodating, professional and kind throughout the process. We were a large group of 23 and Ali did a great job in organising and adapting the tour to our needs. He had great local knowledge and experience, and his ability to retain such a vast amount of historical information was impressive. He communicated well and kept our interest throughout. We were a group of 7 that had an amazing day with Ali! We were hoping to get some background and history of Hiroshima and boy did he deliver! He was incredibly knowledgeable, gave such a better experience than what you could research yourself, and paced everything perfectly. No group members felt rushed, and we got to see and learn so much! Ali was an amazing guide for the day, would highly recommend! Thankyou!Perfect day trip to Hiroshima

My family of 4 had the good fortune to do a day trip to Hiroshima with Ali last week. He met us at the train station, and the day was seamless from there. Although such a heavy topic, he was engaging, informative and shared so much fascinating information. He related very well to each of us. At no stage did we feel pressured or rushed. We especially loved finishing the day on beautiful Miyajima Island. I could not recommend this trip with Ali more highly.I could not recommend Ali more highly

I was excited by the reviews Ali had, and seeing Hiroshima. But the experience was not what I expected - basically a rote memorization and recital of the plaques without any history or content of the city before the war. why it was chosen to be bombed, the feel and nature of the people. I had some additional knowledge from my reading he did not have. I think this is not necessarily and issue with Ali, but with all of the guides who are no "locals" and were not born there, lived there and have family there. Nice Guide, but not a local

Ali was an excellent guide who made our trip to Hiroshima a great one! He was flexible and listened to our preferences so he could customize our tour. He was knowledgeable about history and the sites we visited and was strong with the English language. He demonstrated patience and didn’t make us ever feel rushed. He took the extra time to assure we met our tour expectations. We were a party of four and we highly recommend Ali for your tour guide! Excellent Tour Guide for Hiroshim

Ali led me and my husband through Hiroshima Peace Park and gave us context to what we were seeing. He gave very specific and useful information on restaurants and getting to Miyajima as painlessly as possible. We ended at Shukkeien garden, small and perfect with koi and turtles to feed...a light hearted end after a very somber start. Thanks to Ali for a grounding to start the time in Hiroshima Peace Park to peaceful park
