Peter was extremely knowledgeable, weaving together both the secular and Jewish life of Lisbon through the centuries. He uncovered the architectural clues to the history of the Jews in Lisbon, bringing to life the rich history and vital part that the Jewish community played in contributing to the economy and culture of Lisbon. He also highlighted the persecution of the Jews during several periods from before the inquisition until WWII. We are grateful for his comprehensive tour. If you’re like us; using a food tour to get to the heart and soul and history of a city, we strongly suggest that you ask for Peter as your guide. We had a wonderful and very fascinating tour of the city center. The stories went from a Portuguese company recreating Roman garum in the original ancient vessels (and having a taste of it!) to entering hidden gems that we would never have discovered yourself. Peter was a delightful guide through the areas that were previously Jewish areas. He was extremely knowledgeable and brought pictures to help illustrate what he was explaining. We were 4 senior adults walking more slowly and he was patient too. We really enjoyed ourselves. Excellent Lisbon Jewish Heritage tour.

The tour was very good. However, we were disappointed that recommendations promised by Peter for other city sites/activities, etc. were never received.
