I was born and raised in the wonderful city of Porto and even though I love travelling I never lived anywhere else in my life. I am 35 years old and I also love translating, which I do professionally since 2006, the year I graduated. I also love a good movie and different types of music, particularly from the 1960s and 70s. There is nothing better than a glass of good Portuguese wine with some jazz or Brazilian bossa nova (or even fado, depending on the mood).

As I said before, one of my biggest passions is football and the main city club, FC Porto. The first time I went to the stadium was with 10 years old and since then my interest kept growing.

As a translator, of course I read a lot, being my favoritte book The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde.

We learned so much about Porto and its rich history, and really enjoyed the behind the scenes tour of the football stadium and museum. Rui is very passionate about his team and it shows. He gave us a real insight into Porto, its people and its culture; one we would never have seen with a big tour group. Highly recommend him and this tour.Great time with Rui

Rui gave us a great morning tour of Porto complete with coffee and stops off the beaten path. Was a wonderful way to start our Porto adventure. He also went out of his way to help us with recommendations for the rest of our trip to Portugal. We had a great time exploring Porto with Rui. He made the tour fun and engaging for all of us—myself, my wife, and our two teens (18 and 15). Rui shared fascinating stories about the city’s history ( with some football culture - which we loved) all with a personal touch. Rui is a super-friendly, well-educated and chill tour guide. His tour is well prepared and he has nice background stories to share about the city. He tailored his talk to our needs and there was plenty of room for questions. We really wouldn't have wanted to miss this and can definitely recommend Rui if you want to know what’s behind this beautiful city!Best tour guide in town!

We were lucky enough to have Rui as our guide for the walking tour of Porto. His knowledge of and enthusiasm for his home city was outstanding. His approach was relaxed and unhurried and the choice of a traditional Portuguese tavern for lunch was a good one. It might not be for everyone but for me an added bonus was his local football knowledge. I would recommend the tour with Rui unconditionally. Outstanding Walking Tour of Porto

We took a great walking tour with Rui in Porto. He gave us alot of the history of Porto as we strolled by many important landmarks. He has a very nice and friendly personality. He was able to recommend a few very good local restaurants which we tried and enjoyed very much.
