During our short stay in Colombo, we had the pleasure of being guided by Deegoda, who was truly friendly, cheerful, and always helpful. Although we had limited time, Deegoda managed to show us the main highlights of the city, providing clear and engaging explanations. We are from Italy and our first experience in Sri Lanka has been the street food tour with Deegoda as a guide. We enjoyed every minute of it and Deegoda has been a wonderful guide, very talkative and kind in explaining different sides of the country's culture and answering to all our questions. On top of that, apart from the food, he also brought us on a sightseeing tour of the main attractions of the city.Our first dive in beautiful Sri Lanka

My husband and I booked the Negombo Delight: A Cultural, Culinary, and Scenic Day for our first day in Sri Lanka with Deegoda because we wanted to have a glimpse into the way the people lived. While so many tours say they do this, it is rarely the case because they go to activities set up for tourists. This was not the case; it truly gave us insight into village life, the local foods and drinks as well as the local markets, including the incredible wet and dry fish markets. (During the day, we had many samples of great food, local fruits and the local toddy.) We had the opportunity to interact with local people as they worked on making firecrackers and bricks. We saw many local sites as well. The highlight of our day (and may possibly be the highlight of the entire trip) was the catamaran sunset cruise. While we didn’t see the sunset because it was cloudy, it was an incredible experience. We felt extremely lucky to be riding on one of these local catamarans and be able to watch the three guys manage the massive mast. Deegoda’s bubbly personality, professionalism, kindness, constant smiling and laughing added such a warm and personal touch throughout the day. It was a perfect first day experience and introduction to Negombo and Sri Lanka. The saddest part was knowing we were ending our time with him since we were headed to other locations and had booked other guides. We would have enjoyed having him throughout our entire time in Sri Lanka. We have had many guides throughout our travel years, and he is one of the best ever. We had such an awesome experience with Deegoda the communication was fantastic from the start with lots of helpful information and confirmation he was on the way to pick us up. Deegoda arrived right on time picking us up from our hotel in his tuk tuk. Deegoda is full of energy with a great smile and sense of humour, immediately making us feel welcome, he also has a wealth of knowledge about the local food and culture. All the foods we tasted were delicious and Deegoda went out of his way to find particular foods he wanted us to experience. What really stood out to us the most was his interaction with the local people, there was so much laughter and smiles and genuine connection, it is a tour we will remember for a long time. Please do not hesitate to book this tour with Deegoda he is an awesome person and guide Fantastic street food tour

We had an excellent food tour with a very friendly, knowledgeable guide, Deegoda. He made us try food which we would not have known to try otherwise and we enjoyed trying some fruits while getting a tour through the fruit and vegetable market. Would highly recommend booking him, and I would without hesitation book him again on a future trip to Colombo!Excellent food tour with Deegoda

I had such a fun day exploring Negombo with Deegoda in his tuktuk. Despite it being the end of my trip, where I had already tried a lot of things he managed to find some new foods for me. He is very engaging, a super guide, chatty and very informative. Seeing the back alleys of the more rural areas was fascinating and a very enjoyable end to my time in Sri Lanka. Fun day in Negombo

We had the most wonderful experience with Deegoda, who took us to the best local eating spots we would have never found on our own. Each place was a delight, from hidden street eats to heartwarming local restaurants. Deegoda’s witty stories, generous spirit, and genuine kindness turned every meal into a moment we will treasure. We took a Food tour in Colombo with Deegoda. He was so kind, attentive . He picked up us from our hotel with his tuktuk. He told us a lot of information along the way. We visited a restaurant And a market with him. He spent four hours with us. Everything was perfect. Food tour Colombo - fantastic

This was such a fabulous tour and I learned so much about Negombo. Deegoda, is such a friendly and kind soul. My teenagers had a blast learning from him and also trying new foods and experiences. I think the highlight for us would be walking through the fish drying process and also visiting the fire cracker industry seeing how these are made as a cottage industry. I highly recommend this tour. Deegoda is a wealth of information! Amazing Tour

Deegoda gave us the most incredible tour today. We tried loads of different amazing foods, but also Deegoda took us around the food market and showed us all the local fruit and vegetables here. It was such a great way to see Colombo. Deegoda was so knowledgeable of everything, and really took the time to show us the city. He also helped give us advice for the rest of our travels and was just so nice. I really would recommend doing this to anyone visiting Colombo, especially with Deegoda who was just so fantastic! Amazing tour - must do!
