Hi there, my name is Svend-Erik. Edinburgh is my home and has been since I first arrived in 2016. I have been a professional storyteller for over 30 years and when I came to Edinburgh I couldn't wait to learn and tell the tales of this wonderful city that I have come to know and love. It's rich history and stunning views cannot fail to inspire visitors and it has certainly inspired me to share its magical secrets with travellers from across the globe. From the light and love of Robert Burns to the dark horror tales of Bloody McKenzie. I will lead you through the wynds, closes and graveyards of the Royal Mile, bringing to life the mysterious, scandalous, and murderous histories which took place within the old city walls. I'll share with you my passion for the historical sites and as we wander the streets I'll also share tales that will make you smile and laugh. I love to meet people who are seeing this city for the first time and inspire them to get the most out of their time in Edinburgh.

Svend’s love of Scotland’s history and culture really shines through on his walking tour. He is a wonderful storyteller and has a great sense of humor! We could’ve have walked and talked all day but we really did cover a lot of ground (historically and by foot) on our 3 hour tour. Wonderful walking tour!

We totally enjoyed our walking tour the only bad part is it seemed to go to fast. Beautiful day to walk the town and Svend is truly a story teller. Kept us totally engaged would definitely book him again.Great Day in Edinburgh

What a personable, knowledgeable guide! He made history come alive and ended the tour with a cherry on top - the old Parliament building was just stunning! Haven’t had such a good time since the pigs ate my little brother - choose this gentleman for a wonderful tour…Gifted storyteller

We had a wonderful tour with Svend on the morning of Sept 17. We were staying at the Hilton, so it was less than a 2 minute walk to the start of the tour. We've been to Edinburgh before, but Svend showed us things and told us stories that we had never heard or seen before. We spent 3 days in Edinburgh and based on all the great new information he provided us we need to plan another trip. We walked up most of the Royal mile, stopping off at several of the closes with good stories in each. We then went up to see Bobbie the dog and went into Greyfriars church yard. We ended up at the National Museum where the tour ended at the milleninum clock. The best part was that Svend modified the tour on-the-fly based on our conversations during the tour. I cannot recommend him high enough.Best tour we've ever had

This is definitely the way to tour the castle. Svend-Erik did a great job of telling the story behind each aspect of the castle and then gave us time to check out that part of the castle ourselves. Would definitely recommend it!Thoroughly enjoyable!

Terrific experience with Svend-Erik who was super knowledgeable about all things Scotland (at least to us) from a very complicated history with details to keep us all engaged to fun facts about the castle itself. He was very attuned to our interests and adjusted the pace to suit our needs. I'm sure we could have learned much more with extra time but the 2 hrs was really just right--as my brain felt full at that point and I was ready for a rest! Exceptional Scottish history with a flare
