I am a lifelong Oaxacan with deep roots in the city, and I am passionate about sharing my enthusiasm about this place I love and know so well!

My father was an architect and historian, so since childhood, I've been immersed in all that makes Oaxaca unique. As an artist and a longtime teacher, I want others to see Oaxaca as I do and gain an appreciation of its crafts, its culinary traditions, and its rich mix of cultures.

There is nothing I enjoy more than introducing others to all Oaxaca has to offer! I will share with you those places Oaxacans love most.

Tanivet was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and patient with us and our two kids (7 and 10). We learned about the city's history, art, and culture. We toured through the city, had great drinking chocolate, visited the local landmarks, and she kept us rapt the whole time. She was very attentive to the kids and made sure we all had a great experience. We would book her again next time we come back!A Perfect Introduction to Oaxaca

Hi! I recently went on a last minute trip to Oaxaca to meet up with artisans and makers. Tanivet was very helpful and knowledgeable. She had brought Enrique with her as a driver, and he was very friendly and kind. I felt safe and met some amazing contacts.Female Solo Trip

We really enjoyed our walk around Oaxaca with Tanivet. She gave us great insight into the history of the city and did so with humour and interesting stories. Highly recommend!A great experience

Tanivet took my wife and I to Monte Alban, a place where she has played as a child as her fatehr worked there. That deep knowledge lead to a very informative and super enjoyable experience. She had wonderful insights and a warm personality. After the tour, and a trip to a mezcal distillery for an in depth description of how mezcal is made, she even made time for us to stop by a local market and grab some dried chiles so I can try my hand at mole making. A wonderful day and I would highly recommend her.A wonderful tour

Had a great time with Tanivet. She was extremely knowledgeable and shared with us as much as she could about Oaxaca. I would definitely recommend her and look forward to getting her as a guide in the futureAwesome experience

Tanivet was a great guide for us to do the highlights and hidden gems walking tour. She pointed out a lot of places for us to consider during the rest of our trip, and was a wealth of knowledge about Oaxaca, its cultures, customs, celebrations, neighborhoods, and history. She was so warm and welcoming and was a great way for us to kick off our time in Oaxaca. Highly recommend.Tanivet is one of the highlights!

We loved our tour with Tanivet yesterday. She was knowledgeable, patient, and shared fascinating facts with us. She speaks English perfectly well, and was patient with us trying to learn Spanish. I highly recommend her as a tour guide!What a fantastic tour guide!

We had an excellent time and a very full day on our tour with Tanivet and Enrique. They were both full of very fun facts and we learned a lot about the region. They were flexible to add in stops and change up the itinerary. They also answered a lot of questions for us about navigating Oaxaca. We felt very comfortable in their care!Tanivet is an excellent tour guide!

We used Tanivet for the night tour and the a few days later for the tour of Jalatlaco. She was terrific! She was on time, responded to questions easily, and overall very friendly. Tanivet is very knowledgeable and shared so much of the history of the city and surrounding area. We learned a lot. It is apparent that she has a passion for what she does. I highly recommend her as a guide. Make sure you've got good walking shoes because she will take you everywhere!
