Usua

San Sebastian is my city, I grew up among its streets, where all my family comes from.

Like the ancient sailors of its shores, my origin has pushed me to get to know the world and to intertwine with its cultures, its people and the nature that surrounds us.

After 12 years of travelling, which for my art studies made me spend a lot of time in Italy (Florence, Sicily, Rome), I have returned to Porto and feel it is time to spread the hidden gems the city has to offer, taking an accessible walk among nature, sports and gastronomy.

Usua had a change in her schedule so her colleague Fran(Francisco) was our tour guide. We were running late due to parking and he was very flexible/accommodating with us. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and easy to talk with/hang out with. Took us to several great pinxto spots, taught us about the history, culture, and food of San Sebastian. Usua was an enthusiastic and informative guide who lives in the Old Town and continually visits different pintxo bars to stay updated and to remain adaptable to visitors' tastes, dietary restrictions, crowd situations, and more. She was very flexible with us, particularly since we had our 2 year old with us, and ensured we had a great time. Thank you, Usua! Excellent intro to pintxo options

We really enjoyed our tour with Usua! She was extremely knowledgeable about all things food and was also able to weave in the history & culture of San Sebastian. This was a great way to start our time in the city & get our bearings while also tasting some of the best San Sebastian has to offer!Perfect intro to SS food culture

Unfortunately Usua cancelled on us. I appreciate that these things can happen and a replacement, Fran, was found. The tour is advertised as 2.5 hours but ended after 1hr 50 mins. We all felt short changed given the cost of the tour. Whilst it was pleasant enough it felt rushed and then ended suddenly and prematurely.Poor value for the cost - Pintxos tour

We had the best first evening in San Sebastián with Melanie. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and showed us all the best spots and how to navigate the old town. Would highly recommend! Great first day in San Sebastian!

Usua was an excellent guide. We got to experience the traditional pinxos bars and ate some delicious food. Her best advice was “don’t eat anywhere shiny, go in the brown bars instead “ . That was so true! The brown bars were full of locals and the pinxtos were authentic and delicious. Highly recommend 😄San Seb deliciousness

Usua was an absolute gem of a guide! Our first day in Donostia was made even more special thanks to her time with us. We learned so much about the fascinating Basque people and their rich culture. We enjoyed a 10K hike from San Sebastián to Pasai San Pedro. The views along the coast are stunning and it is a surprisingly peaceful nature experience so close to town. Usua is a native of San Sebastián and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversation with her along the way.Excellent Hike with Usua
