This was my first time booking a private walking tour instead of joining a free one, and unfortunately, I found the experience quite disappointing. The guide seemed very new to the role, and I often felt that she was simply reciting basic information—things we could have easily read in a printed guidebook. I was hoping for more engaging storytelling, local anecdotes, historical context, and maybe even some insider tips or recommended spots. Communication was also a real challenge. Since English is a second language for both of us, it was difficult to connect, and she often didn’t seem to understand the questions we asked. That said, she remained kind and patient throughout the tour, even though it rained most of the time, which I appreciated. Overall, I didn’t feel the tour offered good value for the price paid.Kind guide, but the experience fell short

We had so much fun on our walking food tour of Madrid with Virginia! She knew so much about the city, but wanted to get to know us as well. As we walked, she pointed out shops to buy unique gifts for our family members and patiently waited as we made our purchases. I was trying to buy a European curling iron and she tried to help with that as well. She followed up with us days after the tour and did the most selfless and amazing thing…because of the National Holiday the roads were closed to taxis and she took the Metro to meet us at our hotel and escort us all the way to the airport on the Metro!! We “may” have gotten there on our own, but this was so much more efficient and no blaming each other for any wrong decisions! We know we have made a true friend 🩷We LOVED Virginia!
