And also have a passion for learning how to cook it. "Good Food + Good Company = Good Mood" is one of my life mottoes. I had a superb experience with Vonny on a Walking Tour through Old Surabaya. Meeting at the Majapahit Hotel, a nice chat on Indonesia, the history, the geography. Vonny explained everything so clearly, answered all my questions and was very engaging bringing the old city to life ! I can not recommend her enough. Courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and very pleasant to spend the day with exploring !Magnificent Walking Tour Old Surabaya

Vonny spent the whole afternoon with us. First we went shopping for ingredients, then we cooked together. Afterwards we got a coffee tasting. We noticed we would still need to buy some coffee and souvenirs so she went with us to get the coffee and souvenirs shopping, followed by some ice cream at the oldest ice cream place in Surabaya. Instead of the three hours mentioned in the app, she spent 8 hours with us. Absolute 10/10 experience, no notes. Highly recommend.An amzing afternoon cooking

I spent a lovely afternoon with Vonny. She showed me the highlights of Surabaya in a short amount of time, since I was only there for a day. Not only does she know a lot about the city, she has a nice sense of humor as well. Vonny also stuffed me with all kinds of local food, which was much appreciated. ;)Knowledeagble and funny

Vonny was an incredible host. She made us feel comfortable and welcome. She took us to a traditional market and we saw a piece of Surabaya we wouldn't have seen without her. She shared her cooking skills and the history behind the dishes. We left full and happy! The coffee was amazing. Thank you again to Vonny and her family for having us.

Had a wonderful experience with Vonny! She was kind and enthusiastic. Not only did she talk about the local food and took us to a few hidden gems, she also had great knowledge the history of the areas of which we were in. Thank you so much, Vonny! Great experience!

We had a lovely day with Vonny. She took us around Surabaya and explained the importance of the city. Unfortunately the heavens opened and we were forced to seek cover. Vonny took us to the old Dutch Club where there was an exhibition taking place. We were able to enjoy our time there until te rain passed.Vonny is so friendly

This was our second day with Vonny, and we had an awesome time once more. We started off with a visit to a central market to buy some ingredients before heading off to start cooking. Our two menu items were lemper with chicken, and es cendol. This is a participation exercise, and we were quickly put to work on the ingredients - it was great fun to learn about the different ways of preparing them. The food assembled, we were pleased with the outcome - very tasty! We met some of Vonny's family too, including her nephew - the coffee maestro - who demonstrated some different ways to prepare a brew. Again, Vonny was very generous with her time, and it was a pleasure to spend the class with her. The follow up with photos and recipes of what we made was much appreciated. We cannot recommend her highly enough.Learn to cook like a local with Vonny

What better way to get to know about a place you're visiting than to get to know one of its residents. Vonny was a delight to spend time with, and showed us some of Surabaya's highlights. Amongst those was a favourite bakery of hers, and it was great to have her tell us about the different local products - followed by a tasting of course! We also visited a long established drinks company where we were able to sample some of their flavours that were unknown to us before - we recommend the cocopandan. Vonny was extremely generous with her time, and it was great to have such a warm introduction to Surabaya and to make a new friend.Wonderful day with Vonny

We loved our time with Vonny and her family. We got to experience a market, somewhere we would probably never have gone otherwise. We then cooked together at Vonny’s house with her family. Vonny’s family was lovely and we felt so welcome. We even got to cook a special meal because it was our honeymoon. I would highly recommend this experience, especially if you’re in to cooking and spending time with local people. We will actually be able to make the meal back in England :)Fun and authentic cooking experience!
