I am a certificated English tour guide based in Jeju Island. I used to work for a local history research foundation and organized history field trips and gave lectures(Mostly on 4.3) frequently. These experiences make me deeply understand Jeju’s unique and special history, characteristics and culture which I would like to share with people around the world.

I am a bicycle trip lover. I have made a lot of bicycle trips around Jeju and I know many hidden and secret beautiful places to visit. I also regularly visit Japan and Taiwan with my bicycle. I know the joys of traveling and the hardness of traveling abroad as well.

As a serious foodie, I obtained craftsman cook certification. I know many good restaurants in Jeju serving not only local food but also almost any kind of food from different origins (Italian, French, Thai, Yemeni etc).

Thank you for the expertly guided tour. It provided a thorough history of Jeju and made for an enjoyable walking experience. We appreciate how clearly you explained the history and highlighted the important milestones in Jeju. We particularly enjoy the authentic Korean fish soup restaurant. Jeju City may not have as many instantly recognizable cultural landmarks as Seoul, Jeonju, or Gyeongju... but thanks to Yongchan, what the city does offer came to life in the most meaningful way. He brought depth and perspective to every stop, sharing stories, historical context, and cultural details that gave us a much richer understanding of the island. His explanation of the 4.3 Massacre was especially thoughtful and thorough, helping us connect emotionally to a part of history we were eager to learn more about. You can tell he genuinely cares about sharing Jeju’s story. A fantastic experience with a guide who’s truly passionate about his work.Experienced and knowledgeable.
