Emanuele ci ha edotto su aspetti della Roma antica, veramente poco noti, come le acque che arrivavano a Roma attraverso i vari acquedotti, interrotti dai barbari invasori e ripristinati solo nei secoli successivi. We were a party of 4 and decided to do a tour by car as my parents are not big fans of walking. So Emanuele picked us up with his fantastic and very comfortable Mercedes GLA and off we went! It was basically the first time for all of us in Rome (my parents had visited ages ago and didnt remember much). We spent 3 hours with Emanuele taking us around the most known must see places in Rome but also showed us many hidden gems. We made several stops to walk around certain parts of the city. The tour was also a compact lesson of the history of Italy!! Rome for Dummies! His great passion and knowledge made this tour really worth while. He was very attentive even after the tour during our whole stay suggesting things to do the next day and recommended also restaurants (not only the "famous" one that are known to tourists but also the ones the locals prefer, which is what one really needs. My family and I had a wonderful experience with Emanuele. We had a short amount of time in Rome and wanted to give our son a guided tour. Emmanuele who speaks excellent Spanish met my friend and I at our hotel with his very comfortable car. He does not drive like an Italian, how he dealt so smoothly with the traffic and kept talking to us I do not know! Emmanuele took us to places where we could overlook Rome and there were hardly any tourists in sight. In retrospect this was an even greater privilege when we later had to deal with crowds of us tourists. Emmanuele is a Roman and knows his city inside out and tailored this tour to our requirements, first time and ignorant but I reckon he could give a professor of Italian history a run for his money! We were given a perspective of the history of Rome which was both informative and unique, I was fascinated. Later on regular tours I listened carefully for some of those key extra details and they were not forthcoming. What a beautiful city Rome is, the 3 hours were so special and interesting. Definitely the highlight of our trip to Rome. I couldn’t fault this experience in any way so I gave it a 10 and booked Withlocals for Florence next! Do this first!

Emanuele is an amazing one! A rare find! If you do visit Rome whether as an old or first timer, and is looking for a momentous experience, book him. Vincenzo arrived promptly at our hotel to meet us, we changed our plans quite late but he was super accommodating and took us around all the points of interest that we were interested in. Emmanuel helped us plan the trip to Rome right from the onset, communicating with him was super efficient and quick. he picked us up from the hotel, the car was clean and seeing Rome in the evening is truly amazing. We had 2 guides for our tour of the Basilicas, one of which, Viviana, was an art historian with specific academic knowledge of ancient/ medieval Rome. There is nothing more special than visiting the most important Basilica with personal guides pasionate about their subject. Travelling about Roma in Vincenso's Fiat 500 was an added bonus! Most of the well known sites are easy to find but it is only when walking with a roman that the hidden treasures of Rome are unlocked. Our request was certainly not an ordinary one. We were looking for a guide who would be able to build a tour that would fit in thematically with our leadership program. Emanuele was the ideal guide and provided us with a thoughtfully custimised tour. We had been to Rome before, so we asked for a more in-depth perspective, and Emanuele delivered perfectly! As we were staying in the pedestrian area, he suggested we start the tour on foot and then we moved to the car for the balance of the tour. A great combination that enabled us to comfortably explore key sites close to our hotel and then experience views of Rome from the Hills and sites further afield. Enamuale was very knowlable and communicated clearly and easily. He was super friendly and made sure we were comfortable and were getting what we wanted from the tour. Our time spent with Emanuele absolutely made our trip to Italy unforgettable. His generous spirit and infectious enthusiasm left us all wishing we had more time to spend with him. There was so much new to learn and he is so infinitely engaging that both myself, my husband and our 15 & 17 year-old daughters were all captivated by his stories filled with interesting information. A noteworthy item for this review is how our tour developed. We had picked a medieval town we read about and had inquired whether he could take us there; Emanuele suggested Tivoli instead and set the entire itinerary from there. I was very happy to choose the MB for maximum leg room for myself. Before our tour he reached out to ask what our preferences were. Being our first time in Rome and having read the wonderful reviews I told him we were happy to see whatever he recommended because everyone was so happy with their time with him. He did not disappoint. He picked us up at the spot of our choice by the Vatican and off we went. We saw so many sites and learned so much history that we never would have seen on our own. We especially enjoyed seeing Moses by Michelangelo at Piazza di San Pietro in Vicoli and the newly restored Ecstasy of Saint Teresa by Bernini at the beautiful Santa Maria Della Vittoria church. Our family of 4 had the perfect afternoon in Rome with Emanuele. We communicated before based on the standard tours we booked to all the must see places in Rome. Based on this, he planned a tailored experience and a list of very important sights. We would have never seen these beautiful places without him and he brought not only a historical perspective but a story to each place that also gave our children a greater understanding of what they were viewing on their level. It was extremely hot this summer and he knew how to plan it from beginning to end with exactly the right order of places and stops and the best gelato included. Emanuele was a gentleman, a true Roman and also a family man knowing how to keep all of us engaged. A bonus was his zippy, comfortable car that kept us cool and content.
