My wife and I like to arrange a walking tour the first day or so in a new town. It usually gives us a good feel for the town and history of the area. We spent the evening with Naphat on our first day in Chaing Mai and are so glad we did. Visiting temples and getting her insights into the temples, Buddhism, and Thai culture was fantastic. “Boy” gave us a phenomenal tour of the Sunday night market as well as multiple temples throughout old town. He showed us some amazing temples in Old Town and introduced us to some delicious food at the night market. We also learned about the history of the temples, information on Buddhism, and information about different local foods at the night market. He introduced us to a Buddhist Monk and had our marriage and unborn baby blessed as well. Seriously, i feel weird even writing a review because our day was not a service; it was just fantastic walk with a friend🤍 felt like we know each other for quite a good life time. Lot of perspective to Buddhism and philosophical aspect to Thai culture. History of seperated kingdoms with Chiang Mai different aspects of history and architecture of temples and pagodas. We sampled some classic Thai foods and had a great few hours ending in the wonderful Sunday Market! Tanya was a very friendly knowledgeable guide who checked in with us before we started the walk(15mins early) on what we had already seen or would like to see and expected. We visited 3/4 Wats given plenty of time to explore them and Tanya regularly asked if we had any questions answering them in very clear English. The pace and stops were well timed. Purichat gave us a wonderful evening. It was so much more than a city highlights tour. She shared her knowledge of Buddhist life and philosophy with joy and respect. It’s hard to put into words exactly how thoughtful, kind and knowledgeable Naphat is! She is truly a wonderful guide and went above and beyond for us. We learned so much about both the history of Chiang Mai and about the local customs and beliefs. The best thing was that it never felt like a lecture or a class - because spending time with Naphat felt more like hanging out with a friend rather than a tour guide. Aei was very responsive from the start. She kindly offered to pick us up from our hotel instead of the meeting point. She also changed the tour from a walking tour to bike tour with no issues as we changed our minds on this. The experience with Naphat was very nice. She took us for a walk at night and the city looks very different so it was a very original to walk around th the city and entering some temples around. She was very enthusiastic about the city and explained many important facts about the North of Thailand plus history. The food at a local market was amazing, we enjoyed every bit of it, we can recommend Naphat's company, as a very knowledgeable guide, she is very cheerful. It was great meeting Purichat and learning so much about Thai culture and history. Purichat was incredibly knowledgable and passionate about teaching those willing to learn about traditional Thai culture. She was patient and answered all my questions. The temples we visited were beautiful and the night market where she took me to try khao soi we visited was so amazing. The khao soi was super yummy and I especially loved the cat cafe she took me to. Purichat also made sure I got home safe at the end of the night.
