Our group of 4 enjoyed a great private tour in the heart of KL’s Chinatown with Siddoz and his trainee (Steve?). Siddoz was firstly very patient and understanding as we were delayed in KL traffic for ~15 mins. He catered to my fussy parents, explained the dishes we were trying and introduced us to foods we wouldn’t have ordinarily tried. He also took us to a couple of really cool spots for photo ops, some of the best photos on our holiday (thanks Steve, our personal photographer too!). Spent a very enjoyable time with Brendon today - he knows plenty of hidden gems of KL and takes you to places that you would pass by as tourists. The old cinema, roof top bars, traditional KL food and stories about the old days of Malaysia and KL made the tour very memorable. We had requested a food tour focused on authentic local cuisine and street food that the locals eat here. I am a foodie and amateur cook myself, having lived and worked on three continents – most recently for three years in China. My interest always lies in the true local cuisines of ordinary people. I had not yet experienced Malaysian cuisine firsthand. Through Siddoz, we learned more about this cuisine in one evening than we could have on our own in a week. Siddoz guided us to some good food which was a useful introduction to Malaysian cuisine. He spent quite a lot of time on his phone so there wasn't a lot of interaction between us but he knew his way around the best food stalls which was really what we were interested in! Het was heel leuk om met TK op stap te gaan. Naast de heerlijke Food tour, nam hij ons ook mee naar een feest van het Chinese nieuwjaar, dit was voor ons een extra inkijkje in de cultuur, wat wij erg leuk vonden. My wife and I opted for a local food tour guide having done something similar some yrs ago in a couple of European cities. Manjeet was so much more than a food guide. Her love of her brief was obvious from the start. Easily the most genuine guide we have ever had. She took great pride in explaining the foods available in KL and delight in our positive responses, which was easy as they were fantastic. Seul regret, c'est qu'on est fait cette visite à la fin de notre séjour, il est préférable de le commencer par ça.. pour voir Kuala Lumpur autrement.. nous avons cheminé à pied et en métro, nous avons terminé par une dégustation de fruits au cours de laquelle il nous a apporté beaucoup d'explications. Brendon met us at the former administrative centre for the British and provided insights for the area which were informative followed by some other interesting highlights mixed with dropping into to various delicious places for trying some local food that Brendon recommended which was also great. From start to finish our tour was like being with a knowledgeable friend. Being taken around by a native KL-er who was as passionate about food as we all are was such a treat. Being taken to local food spots that probably we might not have had the confidence to try and eating/drinking Malaysian food with a lovely friendly local lady was such a treat. Be warned - you will be full if not before the end, at the end. Manjeet has a blog and also loads of tips about other places in Malaysia that she herself has visited many times. Manjeet is a great person, so nice, so knowledgeable. She already contacted us before our trip with tips and recommendation. For the tour, she picked us up at our hotel in KL downtown and took us to a Chinese temple. Then we drove back to Chinatown and she showed us many corners we would have never seen. We visited a Hindu temple, too and also were helped to taste some food on our tour without a doubt of what we eat could not be safe. She found a boba tea place to the wish of our daughter (11). Manjeet is so enjoyable, she answered all of our questions, she resonated with our children and we had good conversations and a really great time together. Would definitely recommend Manjeet and would for sure meet with her again if in KL next time.This is faboulus 🤩

Thank you TK for taking my family and I on a personalised food tour around Central Market and Petaling Street! TK was extremely responsive from the get-go and really easy to communicate with. On the day, my grandma decided to join and TK was super accommodating. Due to this however, the tour was made challenging as my grandma (being elderly) wanted to wander on her own and didn't really understand the concept of a "tour". We enjoyed the tour with Brendon very much. He is a very intelligent, polite, nice and funny guide and he showed us more than I believed was possible. He also waited for us for almost 30 mins because were late, but still spent full 4 hours with us, and even modified the tour on the go due to some rain. In only 4 hours we Brendon we have been - showed historical sites, with interesting intro into British rule and Malaysian independence, including the stories on how present malaysian scyscrapers are still driven by history - walked through streets of China Town and Little India, and explained how prayers in the Chinese temple work - given the taste of pandan (malaysian plant) - offerred to taste real hand made food (incl. paus), new hipster malaysian matcha and local ice cream - showed multiple fantastic photo places, incl. multiple street art sites AND different rooftop view platforms on Petronas - guided by Brendon through mqny interesting streets, and told fascinating stories about Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia - showed where can we buy gifts for our friends - and many more. Brendon also took care of our transportation within KL and even showed us a badminton store (badminton being my hobby). A great tour, a great guide. Marvellous tour with Brendon

I was surprised to find out at the beginning of the food tour that it was snack food only which I wasn’t aware if. . We tried a variety of small foods, but had to buy our own dinner. We found our guide to be friendly enough, but also a bit distracted by his phone during the tour.Not what I expected

Even prior to the meeting Siddoz was very prompt with messages and tailored the tour as per our needs. This was my third visit to Malaysia and I think I knew most about Malaysian food. However within the first 2 dishes quickly proved me wrong. We went from stall to stall - each hand picked for what it was great at - and we got to try some great dishes from the differnt ethnic groups that make up the Malaysian population. Would definitely recommend this guide. Great intro to malaysian food.
