Lucca is a fabulous city! Sadly we had fairly heavy rain for our evening tour, however Sara was amazing! She was able to guide us to sheltered spots so that she could share her intriguing stories with us. Her knowledge of the history and culture of the areas was so enjoyable! I hope we have the opportunity to visit Lucca again- we would definitely book a tour with Sara again! Beautiful evening!

We spent 3 hours on a food tour with Sara. Even before the tour she was extremely flexible with our timing and the need to change days. She also met us at our apartment instead of the more distant meeting place. Sara has a great sense of humor and, along with some Lucca history, she taught us about little tidbits of local lore. We tasted some Lucca specialties along with gelato and chocolates. She also brought us to an artisan shop where the proprietor was actually working at her old fashioned loom making some of her beautiful wares. We really appreciated the touch of local color. We finished the tour with a light lunch of Tordelli Lucchese and delicious Frontanoio soup. A tour with Sara would be especially good for history buffs!Delightful guide

We spent a couple hours with Sara yesterday getting an overview of Pisa, spending more time focused on the areas outside the Field of Miracles. While that tourist Mecca is gorgeous and interesting, we also enjoyed learning about everyday life of locals in Pisa. If only we had booked a tour with Sara on our first day in Lucca! We then would have booked her for every day of our two week trip in Italy. Sure, her family would miss her but we’d be happy as clams laughing everyday as she shared funny stories and customs of her fellow Italians. My husband and I had never been to Lucca, but had heard wonderful things about it from friends. We went on a private tour with Sara, and spent an enchanting few hours with her exploring the city.
She was so knowledgeable about the history of the city, and her humor in telling us stories about what we were seeing added so much fun to the facts. We loved the way she would talk about the history of a place and then relate it to present day.

I am really sorry but my wife and I found the experience to be very, very disappointing. We have booked a number of these food tours over the last 15 years and have found them to be progressively expensive but equally, worse value for money. Maria Lucrezia was very pleasant, very knowledgeable and easy company with good English. However, the key objective of our previous bookings had been to try local food in authentic restaurants we would have known about ourselves. On this occasion, we each had a single cappuccino, a single scoop of ice cream with whipped cream topping, a triangle of chickpea pizza dough, half of one chocolate, two thimbles of digestivo, three teaspooons of olive oil, four teaspoons of balsamic vinegar, a look in the cellar of a wine shop, one glass of red wine and we shared a portion of tortellini with ragu. My wife and I scored a 4 because Maria Lucretia was a good guide but the food experience itself was a 1.

We spent a fantastic day with Sara on a “hidden gems” personalised tour of Lucca. Sara Was knowledgeable, kind, engaging , and maintained interest for our teenage kids. We were a group of 12 women (friends, relatives) who did the Pisa walking taste tour with Sara. Sara was a good communicator at the time of booking (where I could park & the meeting spot). She was on time to the meeting place and very friendly.
She does a great job of explaining the local sites and taking you to some amazing places for tasting. We were all stuffed by the time our tour was over. We all loved Sara as our guide! 💕
I had previously visited Pisa in 2005 on a cruise ship stop on a Pisa tour booked through the ship. I did not want to return to Pisa because I was not impressed with my last visit, but the other 11 had not been to Pisa so we booked a tour with Sara. Maria exceeded our expectations for the food and history tour. She told us interesting stories about the history of Lucca and included recent events as well. She included personal facts and told us about the daily life in Lucca.
