A Magical Evening in Santiago: City Tour in Santiago - Santiago_Night_tour.jpg

Santiago shines under a different light at night, and it's worth exploring it on a private city tour. Get ready to discover the city's authentic evening state because the locals and the main highlights come out to play as the sun sets.

As the soft evening light falls across the city's sights, follow your local host to discover Plaza Camillo Morin, Patio Bellavista, and other major spots. Your host will point out some of the details you might have missed in each stop as they reveal themselves during the evening lights and around a less touristy crowd. With the main highlights of Santiago illuminated, your perspective of the city will be different as it was during the day.

Take advantage of the cooler, calmer evening and discover where the locals gather to unwind. And just because your tour ends doesn't mean your night does too. Keep it going with local recommendations of where to go in Santiago at night. Enjoy a Empanadas de Pino before saying goodbye to your host and enjoy the rest of your night in Santiago like a local.

The local hosts are natural storytellers, each one with a different background ranging from arts to history. They can't wait to share some of their unique stories and personal anecdotes with you! Feel like changing the route a bit? No problem, the hosts will be happy to personalize the tour to your wishes and make their city your city!

We just completed a walking food and drink tour with Cristobal and he was great! He was very interesting to talk, he took us to some wonderful local restaurants that provided us with delicious food and drinks. He concentrated on local establishments not touristy places. His English is probably the best we have encountered in Santiago. All in all a great tour and value.Fantastic tour with Cristibal

Perfect Review for Melissa’s City Tour in Santiago de Chile (in English) We had an absolutely amazing experience exploring Santiago with Melissa! From the moment we met her, she was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s history and culture. She tailored the tour to our interests and made sure we didn’t miss any of Santiago’s hidden gems. Melissa brought us to each neighborhood to life with fascinating stories and insights. Not only was she well-prepared and professional, but she also went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable and engaged throughout the tour. Her enthusiasm was contagious. We wholeheartedly recommend Melissa to anyone looking for an unforgettable tour in Santiago. She is, without a doubt, one of the best guides we’ve ever had! Rating: 5/5 Stars!Excellent

Our group of 5 loved everything about our food tour with Pablo. He safely guide us through the very busy food market, highlighting many things along the way. We sampled some delicious, ham, olives and fruit that we had never even heard of! Following our walk through the market he led us to our table in a restaurant above the market to eat with the locals. It was a very unique experience and the abundance of food was wonderful, we loved it! I would highly recommend doing a food tour in Santiago and reserve Pablo if you can, he was AWESOME!!!!!Amazing experience!!!

Pablo takes you on a fun-filled whirlwind tour of Mercado Central - Santiago's hustling/bustling food market. With massive foot long corn ears, giant celery stalks, tasty berries and all sorts of produce, you get a great idea of what Chilean farming has to offer. You'll grab a few more food samples along the way before climbing the stairs to a hidden lunch nook high above the market. Gourmet dining it's not but authentic it is! Afterwards you'll stroll through the city center and then grab a final beverage before you depart.Big Ass Corn

Very good and informative tour with engaging and personable guide. We had a small breakfast first; clearly we should have had no breakfast (there is a lot of food). Personal favorites included Hot Dog Completo (I also wish we had room also for the Italiano) and the cold ginger ale and coffee drink.Excellent food tour in Santiago

Pablo was a very knowledgeable and personable guide. We learned a lot about local cuisine and culture in Chile and how it got to be that way. Understanding 300 years of history that is behind the plates of food in front of us was very cool. I had fruits I’ve never had before. Sampled some of the best ham and cheese. I really have to go out and get a Chilean cookbook because now I have this big bag of Merquen spice mix I get to take home with me!! The market was fantastic. We really enjoyed the pastel de choclo. Never miss a food tour

We enjoyed seeing the street market of Santiago. It is very different from the usual tourist destinations and a great way to see a slice of local life in the city. All the tastings were in the market. We tasted local fruits and cheese straight from the stalls. We did eat at a restaurant in the market for our last stop and tasted all Chilean dishes. Pablo was engaging and animated and guided us with ease through the crowded market. Great way to have a very local experience

Our group of 4 had an amazing day learning about and exploring Santiago with Amalia. She was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, kind, funny and obviously very interested in sharing Santiago's history and Chilean culture with us. She took us to the hidden gems like La Moneda Cultural Center and Bellavista. Our day finished at Cerro San Cristobal - funicular up, gondola down and a surprise at the very end. You'll have to join Amalia to find out what it was!! Thank you for an incredible tour of your amazing city!!Incredible day with Amalia Melissa!

Pablo was a great tour guide. We got to experience the local market and eat different types of local Chilean fruits such as tuna, pepino, that we had never eaten before. He shared the history of Chile and Santiago and at the end we ate a sumptuous local Chilean meal! The place we ate at was a hidden local gem that we would have never discovered as a tourist. The food was delicious and filling. I am a pescatarian and he ordered a yummy vegetarian option with beans and corn, and a fish entree for me. Overall we really enjoyed our tour with Pablo and would highly recommend him!Had an amazing time with Pablo!

We were four of us in Santiago with one day to tour Santiago actually we had about five hours and I contact with local and was put in touch with Amelia to coordinate our tour of Santiago. We met up with her and immediately she started giving us some of the history and took us on a walking tour of all the important places and the market and the food and then we ended our day going up to the top of the mountain. I forget the name of the mountain. She was polite, courteous, and had lots of information to share with us and provided us with a lot of the history and made the five hours flyby before we knew it. I would highly recommend a tour with locals and with Amelia particular I truly enjoyed the day in fact, all four of us were very, very pleasedA great day in Santiago

Our guide Pablo was very friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. He brought us to the main market where we sampled olives, a slice of ham and cheese, and several fruits, including prickly pears (tunas). We split a small completo (hot dog with chopped tomatoes, mayonnaise, salsa, sauerkraut and green sauce). Then we climbed a spiral staircase to a luncheonette place, where we shared two different bowls of soup, a pastel de choco (corn pudding with chicken, some deep fried pumpkin bread, a small salad and one beer. The food was rustic and tasty but we couldn't finish everything. We then made our way to a busy pedestrian mall downtown and stopped at a cart for a mote con huesillo (sweet nectar-like liquid made with dried peaches, sugar, cinnamon and barley). Pablo offered to show us more of the downtown area but we had done a walking tour the previous day, so we agreed to end the tour. Although we enjoyed it, I think it was overpriced compared to food tours in other cities where you visit several local restaurants and bars for a similar cost.

Spent a fabulous morning on a Withlocals food tasting tour in Santiago with our engaging guide Pablo. Wow! We wholeheartedly recommend this tour if you want to get the low down on local dishes with a side serving of Chilean culture and history. Visiting the Vega Central market was a feast for the eyes and stomach. We got to sample everything from succulent olives, creamy Edrandol avacados, sweet and juicy tunas, cheeses, sopaipillas and more! We are now equipped to order many local dishes with confidence. Can’t wait!Great way to learn about Santiago’s food

We had a fabulous tour with Pablo! We had scheduled for 5 pm to avoid the heat, but he reached out to request we meet earlier so we could visit the market before it closed. Let me tell you, it was worth it! We hit different stalls and tasted different olives, cheese and fruits before settling a restaurant to taste the local traditional dishes. Afterward, we walked the city while Pablo told us of the history and different places we should take additional time to visit later. On this walk we also had local drinks and ice cream! My entire party had a great time and we would definitely recommend! Try to book lunch or late lunchtime so you can hit the market!A fabulous way to learn the city!

My wife and I and our friend had a great time with Pablo. We were joined by 6 others, which was awesome! Great way to meet other people who are into travel. We went to La Vega Central, Santiago’s largest market. To say the experience was amazing would be an understatement. Pablo introduced us to meat, cheese, and fruit vendors, hand-selecting items for us to try. From sumptuous strawberries to mouth-watering Mantequeso (butter cheese), this was witnessing the real Santiago. Vegetal vendors peddled their products, yelling over the din of the ambling people. Vibrant colors, sounds, and smells were everywhere. We would have had no idea of this market or how to navigate it without Pablo. After, he took us to a β€œhidden” dining room in the market, up the flight of rickety spiral staircase, and through two rooms. It was quiet here, and the hot Santiago wind flowed gently through the open windows. Locals sat eating lunch silently and a TV played local Chilean news. Pablo ordered everything for us: humitas, sopapillas, pastel de choclo (my personal favorite), seafood stew, and more. All topped the β€œChilean way,” with a healthy dose of a spicy pico de gallo-esque sauce on top. We enjoyed beers with a splash of cherry soda in them to soak up all the delicious flavors. Pablo is knowledgeable, engaging, and thrill to be around. He makes you feel at home in his home city. As an avid traveler himself, he knows exactly what foreigners want to see when they say they want to β€œget off the beaten path.” He gave us instructions on how to be safe in the crowded market, made sure everyone was full and satisfied, and showed us his city like no one else could. Our food tour with Pablo was one of the highlights of our 10 days in Chile! Book with him NOW!Fantastic tour!! See the real Santiago

Pablo was so funny and personable, he made us feel like we were friends already. We were originally booked for 3pm on Sunday, but Pablo reached out ahead of time to let us know that 1200 was better because more vendors would be open. Since it was Sunday the city was very quiet so I’m glad we took his advice. Definitely recommend this tour, we did a walking tour of the city a couple days prior and preferred this one!! If u only have time for 1 thing, do this!

We are touring Santiago from the US to consider locating here and wanted someone that could tell us about different areas of the city vs just tourist spots. He showed us one cathedral but quickly realized that wasn't what we needed and he pivoted to showing us things that more met our needs. He spoke good English and had been to the US and Australia so he could compare. He showed us good restaurants and shops that we ended up going to after our tour. Pablo was just who we needed

We had a food tour with Pablo on a summer afternoon, he was very flexible to accommodate our needs from time to foods (one of us was vegetarian). After a brief introduction we went straight for a little local restaurant in the heart of the a market in Vega central where we tried different dishes and beers. After that we walked around the markets trying local products, more dishes, sweets and drinks! Great price-value, super foodie guide and overall exactly what we were looking for: nothing fancy but something very very local! Thanks Pablo! Super Tour!

We really enjoyed our tour with Pablo! He was very easy to chat to and we learnt so much about Chilean food, culture and history. We tried dishes we would never have ordered ourselves, which was a huge bonus. We took the tour at 7pm, which we thought would be perfect based on our experiences in other South American countries. We would recommend an earlier start time, as we learnt they eat earlier in Chile, so lots of places were closing. A lunchtime tour would be great!Excellent tour
