We did the private Night Market and Street Food tour with Purichat during our visit to Chiang Mai and it was a truly fascinating introduction to Northern Thai food! We had a larger group of seven people with varying degrees of adventurousness when it came to food and Purichat did a great job balancing all of the food selections taking us to taste more familiar dishes like Pad Thai as well as new dishes like Khanom chin nam ngiao ( a noodle soup made from fermented bean paste and chicken blood). We also had requests from a couple people in the group to do some shopping which she made sure to include in the tour, taking us to a local market to pick up some things and also sample a few Thai snacks. If you have a free evening in Chiang Mai I would highly recommend this tour with Purichat!Great Intro to Chiang Mai!

May was super welcoming from the start, and handled every part of our tour seamlessly and smoothly. As a vegetarian that thinks raw onion is too spicy, you can imagine how challenging Thailand cuisine can be, so I reached out asking for help finding Thai dishes I could enjoy. Well May overdelivered! The food was incredible, the local history to accompany the tour was a great touch, and it was clear May put in the homework to accommodate our requirements. May was an attentive and respectful tour guide who prioritised guest preferences whilst also offering us foods that we wouldn't try at home. Purichat ( aka “May”) is awesome! She is a lovely person who showed my family of four three fantastic days in Chiang MaiI and Doi Inthanon National Park. We did a food tour in Chiang Mai with May. She told us a lot about thailand, the customs and history and of the food. We went to several street markets and the food was delicious and special everywhere. She also took us to her native neighborhood for a nice salad and dessert. After visiting the market (near the love bridge) she and her sister took us back to the hotel. We thought it was a top experience and May is a very good guide to go out with. Purichat (Mae) was really informative about local Lanna customs, food, and history. Because our tour was on a Sunday she started with the night market, which was really vibrant. Then we walked to the North Gate, where we visited 3 more stalls. Finally a tuk tuk to the market by the river, where we tasted a wide range of fruits. Ae was a wonderful host showing us the sites around Chiang Mai and stopping along the way to snack on a number of tasty foods. Sadly there was some local flooding in the city the week before that caused extensive damage in the community and the water was still high. But Ae did an amazing job of helping us navigate the area and find some alternate choices. I came to Chiang Mai for a environmentist retreat that was a 4-hour drive away so I needed to fly-in the day prior to the retreat. This means I would have half a day free so that's when I decided to find a tour guide for the city. She was a nun and I was intrigued to understand the history and culture of Chiang Mai from someone's perspective that has experience studying with absolut focus. At night the temples are not crowded so very interesting to listen to May’s history stories. Wir (Familie mit 2 Teenagern) haben mit Purichat eine sehr schöne Street Food Tour mit Besuch der Night Markets gemacht. Treffpunkt war völlig problemlos. Wir starteten direkt mit einem der bekanntesten Stände in Chiang Mai. Danach sind wir über die Sunday Walking Street zu einem der Night markets gegangen. Purichat hat dabei immer wieder Informationen zu Geschichte der Region sowie zu dem ein oder anderen Verkaufsstand auf dem Markt gegeben. Die einzelnen Tastings waren ganz überwiegend typische Gerichte für den Norden Thailands. Insgesamt war die Tour gut zusammengestellt und endete in einem kleinen Restaurant direkt am Fluss, das sonst eher von Einheimischen besucht wird und das wir mit Sicherheit ohne Purichat nicht gefunden/besucht hätten. Insgesamt ein sehr gelungener Abend. Wir empfehlen, diese Tour so früh wie möglich während des Besuch in Chiang Mai unterzubringen, weil man sich danach ohne weiteres zutraut auch selbst den ein oder anderen Street Food Stand auszuprobieren. Aei was an incredible tour guide, who put together a kid friendly and gluten-free evening to accommodate our family. She was knowledgeable on gluten-free requirements and her relationships with the vendors allowed her to ask questions and relay information to make sure we felt good about what we were eating. Purichat was great! She took great care of us. We had great northern Thai Street food. Lots of great info. We had the luck to have the tour on Sunday evening. The Sunday market was great! Then we went to Chinatown. It was Chinese New Year so that was really fun complete with fire breathing dragons. Then she took us to a nice quiet cafe on the river for a drink to finish the night quietly. Finally she helped us get tuk tuk at a good price to get back to the hotel. We got such a great feel for the city on our first night here. We would definitely book with Purichat again! She spent almost 3.5 hours with us. More than advertised

The food was good, but we learned very little about it or the city from Tanya. She spent a significant amount of time on her phone during the tour. We asked questions in attempt to get her to engage, but this did not result in increased focus/effort on her part. The cost was high considering the quality of the tour and the cost of the food (which was a small fraction of the total tour cost).
