Neil is an Edinburgh native who is knowledgeable, kind and funny! He know the history of the city and all of the hidden gems. In addition to the city highlights, He took us to his charming neighborhood pub, Bennets which was so special! He also took us to his favorite coffee shop, the Coffee Cave, which is now our favorite too. We feel like we have made a friend for life with Neil! Edinburgh Food Tour with a Local Foodie Custom & Private " GJ did such an amazing job showing us around Edinburgh on our walking food tour. Even with the rain, it was such a lovely afternoon exploring the Old Town. During the tour G was often asking us questions about our interests and adapting the tour as we went to make it more customized. I visited for my first time, we took a tour of the castle, stopped in a fantastic little pub, walked through greyfriar etc. Thoroughly enjoyed my trip and Monica was supper friendly and made my trip a memorable one by making a few amendments by request. Including a picture with the grave of he who shall not be named for my daughter. Fantastic experience

My entire family enjoyed our day with Gee! He was adept at conducting our outing to keep my kids interested but my husband I still felt engaged. He chose a restaurant for lunch and we all enjoyed our food. Even though we'd just met that day, the conversation flowed; his company was a pleasure. We got to spend 3 hours walking the city, seeing and hearing amazing things and tasting really great local Scottish food. My husband and I did a tour with Gee for 3 hours incorporating our personal interests in sites in Edinburgh and including a stop at a local pub for lunch in which we were invited to try some local food. We were traveling with another couple who are very good friends of ours and were able to walk the city and see Dean Village, Grassmarket, a quick peak at the Royal Mile (we didn't want to spend tons of time there since it is so busy with tourists), both Old Town and New Town, Outlander site, Calton Hill and points of interest along the way between these spots. G was a wonderful guide and made the whole experience a high point of our time in Edinburgh. He shared many interesting and fun stories full of the history of Edinburgh. At the pub, we enjoyed (even though we doubted we would) Cullen Skink, Boiled Scottish eggs, Haggis Spring Rolls, and Smoked Salmon. Thanks to G’s gentle nudge we tried them all and loved them. We highly recommend G as this was one of the most fun things we did while there and we loved it that he tailored it specifically to what we had expressed we were interested in through a questionnaire provided prior to our arrival. My husband and I had an amazing tour with Monica in late September. She was very personable and we felt like old friends fairly quickly. Her knowledge of the City and history was perfect. She gave wonderful recommendations for things to do and places to eat/drink for the rest of our stay, and they all turned out to be perfect. One of her pub recommendations was so good that we went there a few times over the course of the week. I recently visited Scotland and the first thing I did when I got off the plane was take a tour of Edinburgh Castle with Monica. She is wonderful. I got a comprehensive history of the castle and Scotland’s people. There were so many interesting details. She gave me enough time to explore and answered all my questions. It was like visiting a friend who took me around her city. Monica is super friendly and funny. We talked a lot about the castle as well as other subjects. I felt super comfortable even when traveling solo. This was a highlight of visiting Edinburgh and I was really happy. I also appreciated Monica’s travel tidbits to enhance my experience in Edinburgh. Monica is a fantastic tour guide! We had a group of 6 ranging from age 9 to early 70s and she was wonderful with accommodating all of our different ages and paces, especially with the Royal Mile being one big hill. Monica is a great story teller, fun and extremely knowledgeable about Edinburgh's history. She also introduced us to the best fudge around as well as Scottish Tablet - we're hooked! We had picked Monica specifically because her bio mentioned a bubbly personality, and she was exactly that! Our tour of the highlands was everything we had hoped for and more. From the moment Monica picked us up in old town Edinburgh, she was a fount of knowledge for every building and landmark we passed and every question we asked. The tour was specific to our interests; even as we were driving Monica was tweaking our experience as we talked and she got to know us, so that we would see what we would enjoy most. We were given lunch options so that we could eat when we were hungry rather than at a pre determined spot. We managed to stay clear of tourists for the most part. And our takeaway was that the car ride was as much a treasured part of the experience as was the jaw droppingly beautiful sights we saw. Our tour with Monica was worth every cent! We hope to have the opportunity to tour with her again!!!Monica is the best tour guide rver!

Monica was super nice and really knew allot of the history of the spots she showed us. She even took the time to stop at one of the shops so we could ask the merchant about their wool jumpers (we later went back and bought one). She gave us some great recommendations about which pubs had the best music and gave us great advice on some good restaurants to go to.
