Marina met us right on time and had changed the meeting point to our hotel as she said we were in a great area. Our first stop ws at a wonderful restaurant where we had outstanding food paired with 3 super Greek wines, something I had requested. We next walked a short way to the "deli" of our dreams. We got to meet both owners and sat down to a feast of meat and cheese with a Greek salad. One of the cheeses was absolutely spectacular and everything was extremely tasteful. Next came a wine bar where we tried 3 white wines that were extremely varied in style. Marina is very knowledgable about wine and answered all my q1uestions and was very helpful with suggestions. She then walked us back to our hotel. This was a perfect outing as we wanted to focus on both wine and food. Highly recommended. Thanks againJust what we wanted

Received a message from Marina the day before the experience saying that her partner Nelly would be running the tour in her absence. Wow we were so lucky. Both my partner and I instantly hit it off with Nelly and knew from the moment we met we were in for a good experience. Nelly was knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour and was very passionate about food and her home of Athens. We didn’t feel like we had a stranger showing us around it was like we were catching up with an old friend. So many laughs. So much food (almost too much food) and wine. Really couldn’t have asked for a better last night in Athens and it really redeemed the city for us (having been ripped off by a taxi driver the previous night). We showed Nelly some photos we had been taking on our holiday making fun of “insta” people and Nelly went out of her way to take us to the 2nd most instagramable place in Athens (even though the tour should have been well over by this point) and helped us take some funny photos. The night ended with us adding each other on Facebook. Even now post Athens and in other countries Nelly has been giving me advice! Feel very blessed to have had Nelly take us around Athens and would highly recommend this experience and hope you’re lucky enough to get Nelly as your host. Nelly was amazing

Marina is a fabulous host! I told her what my friends and I were looking for, a Greek food and Greek wine pairing. She brought to this beautiful small deli 5 minute walk for the Athens Museum . Marina and the owner where full of knowledge and passion about the food and wine. The food was truly authentic and the wines were superb. I cannot thank her enough for a wonderful evening. My family of 5 absolutely enjoyed doing the food tasting tour with Marina. Every food we had was delicious and definitely something we will remember. The only comment I have is it’s a bit overpriced for what it is: cheese, olives, halva, gyro, Greek salad, feta cheese, wine/beer and 3 other types of dessert for €55 per person. Just a friendly suggestion, for that price it should include other local food. Marina’s friendly demeanor compensated though. She was a whole lot of fun!Marina was a delight to spend our last evening with in Athens

Marina was an absolute gem. She asked us if we were interested in deviating from the usual plan to try even more authentic foods, and we agreed. Trusting her to surprise us was the best call we made while in Greece. She was kind to our friend who hadn't had tickets originally, even offering him to let him join our tour. We tried foods we never would have thought to try and she took us to local restaurants we never would have found. Walking around the city with Marina was like walking around with a friend. My daughter and I took a Evening Food Tour with Marina in April, 2019. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip! Marina was so easy to work with when we were custom-planning the tour and deciding what foods we wished to taste. She chose an easy location to meet and was waiting for us when we arrived. Marina is fun-loving, friendly, and it was easy to have a conversation with her. She has a wealth of knowledge about foods (especially local Greek foods) as well as the history and customs behind many foods. Having a local guide made it so much fun to ask questions about Athens and learn so much about the culture and traditions of Greece. We sampled many things - but our favorites were the cheese sampling, the calamari, and the best souvlaki we have ever eaten! Be aware that this tour will have lots to eat...so be sure to arrive hungry! It is obvious that Marina loves to share her knowledge of Greek foods and Greece. She is proud of her heritage and loved talking about it with us. After the first hour, we felt like we were visiting a friend who lived in Athens and who told us they would take us out to eat and show us around town. By the end of the evening, we were sure we had made a new friend who made us feel so welcome in their hometown! Thinking of that evening makes us smile! Marina developed a custom tasting experience for us. We visited a trendy restaurant for a few appetizers, giving us a feel for contemporary takes on traditional dishes. Next we visited a fabulous store/cafe where Ionnis and Stavros, the owners, gave us an olive oil tasting, vinegar tasting, and samples of Greek dishes from many different areas, with ongoing commentary. Finally we went to a wine bar to sample some wines using grape varieties we had never had before. Marina is extremely knowledgeable about food, wine, and all things Greek. She is delightful and fun. I contacted Marina to arrange a custom tour of Athens on my arrival day to the city. Essentially, I wanted to blend an intro tour along with some street food and a wine tasting. Marina ended up planning exactly what I was hoping for! Starting off in the center of the city, she gave me an overview of the central neighborhoods. Along the way, we stopped in a few places for traditional snacks and finished at a tasting she had arranged at a wine bar, where I was able to try 4 very different and wonderful Greek wines paired with cheeses and lamb prosciutto. I enjoyed the wine bar so much that I returned the following night for more! Marina also gave me a bunch of other suggestions for places and things to try during my time in Athens. Marina gave us a private food tour Sunday night (Nov 4). We loved it! She showed us all around Syntagma Square, telling us much about the geography and history of the area and how it influenced the food culture. We sampled honey, halvah, Greek holiday cookies, beer and wine, calamari and squid, gyros, koulouri, baklava, and more! It was a wonderful evening that we will long remember. Just before our tour we were spooked by guys in Syntagma Square trying to unsuccessfully steal our bags. When we met Marina she put us at ease, giving us practical advise. She took us to a candy/tea/alcohol store first. We sampled cookies and honey. Then to a souvlaki restaurant, a fish restaurant, a place to sample several wines then a pastry shop for traditional cheese and leek pie, baklava and other sweets. Although we weren't blown away by any of the food, Marina was amazing! She not only showed us around town and all the restaurants, she shared history and Greek culture with us and got us a cab at the end of the tour. The price was extremely reasonable and we'll worth it for her time with our group.Marina was a great guide!

We booked as a family the evening food tour. It was a saturday night and Marina took us out for a walk around Monastiraki and Psyri. We were eight people in our group and each one of us has the same opinion. Marina went out of her way to fulfil all our needs. She was very knowledgeable, kind, caring and very sweet. She took us to many restaurants and ordered the right kind of food for vegetarians and people who eat meat. I can’t say enough about Marina, she even walked us back to two different hotels. I would give her 5/5. It was our best night out in Athens. Wonderfull!!!!!

Marina's food tour of Athens was a true highlight of our time in Athens. We were a group of older people and me, and she was considerate at all times about their wants and likes. We saw and tasted so much, and not just food, but about the history and people of Athens. It was a truly wonderful way to explore and get to know Athens better, filled with delicious treats and visual wonders too, and in particular the impact of migration, and the 1921 Greek refugees from Turkey, on the food and neighborhoods of Athens. Marina has a wealth of knowledge and options for sweat and savory treats, and personal relations with many of the shops, that ensured we didn't miss anything! She also could tailor it as we went along, based on peoples cravings. Thank you so much Marina for opening our eyes, stomachs and hearts to Athens. And thank you for all the assistance you gave my parents (who had been pick pocketed earlier in the day). We can't thank you enough for everything! She provided good company & a wonderful knowledge of what was offered in this area.(Lots) Marina showed us great food & history she supplied us with many places. We liked that you order & pay after she makes a few recommendations. After several good food stops you could actually map location & places by the feel , taste & smell of whole downtown city!
