Sammy explained everything to us in great detail and showed us so many diferrent foods. We had a great chat afterwards in two bars and it was a lovely evening spent with a well informed local person. Host never showed up! I arrived to the meeting spot and contacted him. Waited fot 25 minutes in the heat, but he never showed up and ignored all my messages via this site. I paid an expensive price for this tour (100 euro) as this was my last evening in Thailand. Commuted for an hour to the meeting spot. This tour was confirmed and money was paid, but the host never showed up and never replied. Something odd is going on here. Read the other reviews since autumn 2022, and do not book until the company resolves this. I expect a full refund. This is a fraudlent offer. Do not book

Sammy although nice and trying was a total fizzer. We had to travel an hour to meet him, and when I asked for directions he said just get a taxi. he seemed to have a slowness about him or as he said he was on medication. The first part of the tour was the botanic gardens, it was dark!, he hadn’t thought to tell us to meet earlier, but had us walking around for an hour seeing not much and even the flower beds at the gardens were all being renewed so no flowers, eventually i said i had had enough. Then he said there are no bus to the market as stated in the description, so we had to walk 2k to get there after he said it was only a short walk. My husband is 66 and we had walked around all day already, and were very tired. I asked if we could get a taxi and he said it’s not far. There was meant to be old cars at this market, supposed to be a surprise for my husband, there were none. He almost lost us twice as he was walking so far ahead, not explaining any of the food. He said we will get Pad Thai as one of the foods and I said we had already had it twice but he didn’t change it for us. The favourite ‘bar nightlife’ was a cafe at the market for a beer. Total shit could of done the same on our ownDon’t do it

We started our trip atvthis amazing park were the local families spend their free time. We got to ride in a paddle boat swan around the lake just as the sun was setting. Sammy was very knowledgeable about the park and was easy to talk to. Sammy took me to the night weekend market that was set up with new and used goods. The prices are incredibly reasonable and the fashion is unreal. You are not going to find the items in the local markets due to each little boutique being unique. If you love to shop and have an eye for fashion this is amazing place to visit. There are so may different types of food stahls along the way. My favorite was the coconut milk shake! First off - Sammy is a spectacular guide. He's extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. This tour is a great way to see some non touristy markets, a non touristy botanical garden and try some local food. Sammy met us at the BTS station and showed us to the park and we then walked around and enjoyed sunset. From there we bussed to the night market and walked around trying different local foods for dinner. After we were so full! so you'll really enjoy this trip if you come with an appetite! Afterwards we walked through the market and shopped and then topped the night off with a beer at a local bar. Sammy worked with the bartender to arrange a taxi for us so we didn't have to locate a cab after the tour was over. Highly recommend this tour!!! You'll regret not going! Phudit took us on an amazing tour of Bangkok, starting at the beautiful park where you can get away from the hustle and bustle to appreciate nature. Sammie was such a great host. I enjoyed his hospitality and honesty during our time together. Unfortunately, the park was closed by the time our tour started so we took the time to further explore the night market. Sammy was a honest, young local which gave us a great taste of the local street food market in a busy neighbourhood in Bangkok. We got to taste a good wariety of food, partly in the pathway streetfood shops in a condomanian neighbourhood and partly in a street market with big wariety of meat, fruit, vegetables, cooked food and equipment. We enjoyed every minute of the walk with Sammy. He told us about himself and the local spirit in the area as well as he showed us an interest in our roots and lifestyle. Es hat Spaß gemacht, auf diese Art Bangkoks Streetfood-Kultur kennenzulernen. Alle Speisen, die wir probiert haben, haben uns geschmeckt. Sammy is really a nice guy, and I’m sorry I can’t leave him a positive review, but unfortunately, there were too many things that didn’t go well. First of all, he showed up looking very sloppy, completely different from how he appears in his profile picture. Then, the choice of restaurants felt really random and improvised, without any prior selection. The biggest issue, however, was hygiene. Thai people are generally very welcoming, but the places we visited were extremely, extremely dirty. In fact, right in front of one restaurant, there were piles of garbage and even rats. Of course, we told him we wanted to change location, and although he was willing to accommodate us, the situation didn’t improve at all. In the end, we decided to cut the tour short. Unfortunately, the next day, two girls in the group even came down with diarrhea. I strongly do not recommend this experience! Bad experience

By Thailand standards this is a pricey tour at £60 a person (approx 5k baht), on rough calculations the food that was provided totalled no more than 700 baht absolute maximum. The 10 dishes were provided but only across 2 locations - one short strip of food stalls on a main road, and a hawker market. The 10 dishes included watermelon and a coffee. The food that we had in the hawker market was dreadful and the worst food we have eaten in Bangkok, there was no thought put into the order of dishes, or we believe the vendors. It seemed like just the cheapest option was selected. We chose Sammy for our guide because he seemed charismatic and personable, however the person we met on the day was a far cry from this. The tour guide provided no extra context or storytelling to what we were eating, besides simply telling us what it was. We also walked around the market in circles with Sammy pointing at produce and saying what it was (including basic fruits such a strawberries), which in a market that mostly sells fruit and dried fish became extremely repetitive and boring very quickly. The activity felt like a time filler considering we finished the food element of the tour in about 90 minutes. This tour would still struggle to be of any value if you had 0 knowledge of Thai food and if it cost about 10% of the price paid. We left the tour after two and a half hours because we had long completed the 10 courses and we had been sat in the coffee shop for about 30 minutes at this point. Dreadful

Sammy has a slowness about him that was not apparent in his video. He seems to have some health issues and not the same person in his video. I picked him based on so many good reviews and his video, but now I don’t think he should be doing tours anymore. Things I was dissatisfied with: 1. Showed up late with hair uncombed and unwashed- dandruff everywhere (unprofessional). 2. 4 of 8 food items we ate were at sidewalk food carts on the same street (is this considered a food tour?) 3. Last 4 items and 1 drink was in 1 hawker center, which we went by a TukTuk. He paid for everything, I know he’s trying to spend less so he can make more $ in his pocket, but the food was below average. I can say that because this tour was our last day in Thailand after 5 days. By then, we’ve already had the same items many times: sticky rice w/mango, green curry, and Pad Thai… and these were definitely subpar! 4. This tour is suppose to be 3 hours. He took us to these places and we finished eating everything by 1.5 hours. So we asked him “now what?” He then proceed to take us on this walk (around the same hawker center) for 20mins! We literally circled the place 3 times! He stopped every few minutes to point out fish and dry snack items. No history, or explanation of food, no recommendations… so disappointed! 5. Lastly, he took us to a coffee shop to get our last drink. Again, no introduction or recommendations. Then he said he was leaving after 3 hour mark was up, he just sat with my family for about 30mins and didn’t really create conversation. It was weird. Then he said he needed to leave. 6. We were expecting for him to take us back to where we started our tour. We had no idea where we were since he directed the TukTuk to this hawker center and coffee place. But he said, “Yup, this is where my tour ends.” Warning!!! Warning!!! Do not book this guy. My family was very disappointed, and we are usually a pretty forgiving family. I went with my husband and 4 kids (ages 14-24). Do Not Waste Your Money!

Sammy was very friendly however what a got for my money what disappointing. I paid €58 for this tour. We started off with sate followed with a tuk tuk ride where we had soup. Finally we walked to another place where we had a dessert and a beer. The total duration of the tour was only 1,5 hour. Furthermore I expected to learn a lot more about the city and better food. The food was tasty but for what I paid for I expected more also knowing how cheap Thai food is. Not what i expected

Especially the included number of dishes varies in the descriptions. Also not all the shops were open and Sammy had to improvise. It was our second Bangkok tour with With locals, on our last night in the city. Sammy took us around a local temple (however, when we got there it was closing). We then moved onto red light district areas and stopped by the local streetfood market. Sammy order for us wonderful food. We had some beers and a chat. We had such a great time on this tour!! We met Sammy on outside a metro stop, which was easy and we were off! Sammy is high energy and enthusiastic. Had a great night with Sammy, who was fantastic throughout our evening tour of Bangkok. He's a super genuine and friendly local who clearly loves his food!! From the outset he was great - messaging us well in advance on Whatapp to give us the meet up points with pictures to assist. We then went on a great tour of a few establishments that the 'proper' locals visit, tasting dishes along the way. It was great to be able to go to places that realistically as a tourist with zero knowledge of the city we wouldn't ever go to. The food was great and we were welcomed every single place we went. The big thing for us is that one of us is a coeliac, so cannot have any gluten. Sammy was able to cater for this and communicated to all the vendors for us which allowed us to eat with confidence - again something we would never have been able to do adequately. Sammy is very professional and a wonderful person. My husband and I were travelling with a 2 year old and he ensured that the kid was well taken care off. He also offered to entertain our son or hold him while we enjoyed our meals. I would highly recommend his services. The day we went some of his restaurants choices were closed but he quickly made other arrangements for us to visit. The only thing i would say that could have been better is if he had slowed down just a little.
