Communication from booking the experience was fantastic. Chef Oat met us and was prepared with rain ponchos for everyone because of a sudden downpour. It was very educational going to the market and learning about key Thai ingredients and picking what we needed. We made 4 courses - Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai, Red Curry and Mango with sticky rice, all of them from scratch and delicious. Chef Oat and the team made it so easy to do with lots of prep and tidying up going on without you even knowing it. I never expected to be able to cook the food we did to the standard we did. Chef Oat even adjusted the recipes for those in the group who didn’t or couldn’t eat certain foods and individuals spice preferences. After the course we were emailed the recipes. Highly recommend this experience.A fun and educational experience

My wife, a coworker, and I signed up for this cooking class but we didn’t realize it was cooking + comedy! Our instructor, Chef Oat, had a great sense of humor! He had some really good jokes and gags which kept things flowing all night. We learned how to cook four dishes: Mango-Coconut Sticky Rice, Tom Yum Soup, Green Curry, and Pad Thai. We got a special addition: a “magic” honey-lime drink! I won’t spoil the magic, but it was very cool! The instructions were easy and Chef Oat’s demonstrations made learning the preparation techniques easy. My son and I had a fun time with Jekky, shopping at the wet market and then she brought us to her place to prepare and cook the food. We did Phai Thai, Tom Kha Gai and Sticky Rice Mango. There was no written recipes so I could only copy down the ingredients for each dish. I am not sure I would be able to cook the dishes to the same goodness on my own when I get back. I would say this is more of an experience interacting with a local with cooking as a theme. It’s not so much about learning to cook the dish as there is no written instructions and recipe. The interaction was fun and valuable as Jekky shared with us about the Thai style of cooking, her life and the culture of the people. There was also a lovely puppy that was so adorable. Thanks Jekky for the wonderful time and sharing those knowledge of Thai ingredients.Fun and Engaging

From tbe moment we met Jekky, we knew we were in for a treat. Her candid conversation and playful nature helped us to make an immediate connection. While shopping for our ingredients at tbe Wet Market, we got our first glimpse of Jekky's passion for her craft. Her explanations regarding why she chose one thing versus another, provided great insights on how to chose our ingredients in the future. Once in her kitchen, we were given direction on all the basics of preparation, and how keeping our attention to the presentation of our ingredients as well as their preparation, would make our foods as visually pleasing as they are tasty. On May 3rd me and my friend had a private cooking class from Jekky. It was nice to see the local market and to learn how to cook a few Thai dishes. Jekky was awesome! We were there way too early but that didn't matter, we went to the market to buy the groceries we needed for an amazing curry and fish dinner. Her step-mom and brother helped out and gave us instructions. Its so cool that she makes this thing possible, she's really lay-back and fun! The dinner was amazing, traditional on a hot stove with charcoal. The dinner at Jekky’s home was great. She gave a cooking instruction for the people who came early, and it was nice to see her cooking with the original clay firepot. I think for me there’s something magical in using that traditional thing to cook. The food was simple but really delicious. I especially love the rice Jekky made with the flower called Butterfly pea. The flower is blue and it gives very nice color and taste to the rice. The atmosphere of the dinner was really cozy. We all sat and ate on the floor, and I just love it because it is so original Thai. There were many guests from all over the world, so it was really interesting to meet all the new people and had great conversation with them. This time, I made so many new friends and this is all because of you again Withlocals! Our guide was lovely, friendly, smart and it was a pleasure to spend the visit with her ! She gave good explanations and good tips about the monuments we visited. It was great to be with her. 2 points to improve : - Nevertheless, it was not necessary to take us to the mall at the end.. we found it was not interesting… we would have preferred to visit a more typical and inspiring place in Bangkok. - considering the high price we paid, we would have appreciated to be driven back to our hotel… A part from those 2 points, we really enjoyed our day visit…! The trip was fun and smooth. Although the guide changed last minute, our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. The train market and the floating market are amazing in themselves, but the infrastructure is rough. Having a guide made all the difference and we could enjoy the place without worrying. Cannot recommend Miss Tai strongly enough, she was an excellent guide for the day. We wanted to see the floating markets and the famous train market and experiece some authentic culture and they didn't disappoint!. Miss Tai was knowledgeable about the places to buy things from, took us on a private paddle boat tour. Lunch at the local canteen wad great. Definitely this tour covers must see places in Bangkok. However, a 6h tour should not end after 4.5h. And it should not end that far off from other interesting places, even though the market it ends on was worth a visit. Must see places, but improvable tour

Had great local breakfast and enjoyed the train experience. Seeing the markets was good but a bit touristy. Then went to floating market. Wa great to take my kids to see this. We only had 2 days in Bangkok and the first day we were so jet lagged we didn't do much. The second day we went on a private TukTuk tour with Meow. We had booked it from the UK based on a recommendation, and we were not disappointed. Meow was great, extremely knowledgeable about the Royal palace and the history of the Royal family and all the Temples. The flower market was great, really interesting as we walked though and tasted a bitter leaf and learnt all about the flowers and fruit etc. The TukTuk was definitely an experience not to be missed, quite mad to be in one in the crazy streets of Bangkok, but we didn't feel unsafe at any time. We went for lunch at a nice air-conditioned restaurant and we chatted with Meow about her life in Thailand and her family and it was very relaxed and easy going. I had worried that the guide would have a very strong accent and we wouldn't be able to fully understand, but Meows English is fluent and with a clear speaking voice and you quickly get used to her slight accent. We would heartily recommend you take a tour with Meow in the TukTuk. Its a long and extremely hot day, with lots of walking also, but thoroughly enjoyable.Absolutely brilliant experience with Meow

We had such a wonderful experience on the Bangkok's Unique UNESCO Heritage Floating & Train Markets Private Tour. When I was putting together our itinerary I saw this tour and how highly it was rated and wanted to make a reservation. I stalled and by the time I got to it, the tours for our date were gone. I emailed Chef Jekky and she was able to find a guide and create a tour for us. That alone is outstanding customer service. A picture of our host was sent so we would know who to look for. Our host, Peaow (sorry on the spelling) was on time and very friendly. She explained the tour and was available to answer all of our questions. Everything worked wonderfully. The markets were amazing. I would highly suggest riding the train from the beginning like we did because by the time it got to the market, the train was packed and there was only standing room and no AC. Our only wish was for more time to explore the markets, but we understood the value of getting to all the spots on the list. We never really felt rushed at all. We saw other tours that had lots of people in their groups and ours was only three....so nice! Please know that traffic in the Bangkok area can be excruciating!! We left our last market around 4pm or just short of, and didn't get back to Bangkok until about 6:40pm. We almost missed an appointment. Absolutely no fault of the tour and the team, just keep it in mind. Make this an all-day event, or don't plan special moments expecting to be back right on time.Wonderful Experience!

We were really disappointed. We (2) booked the tour because we wanted to have a private guide that was able to give us information about the most important attractions as mentioned in the your. Out tour guide did not show up and sent her brother instead. He was nice person but did not know a lot to explain us. We told him but it remained the same. Silo we stopped the tour after 3 hours because we wanted to inform us by ourself. Wen sent a message via chat but got no answer so far (approx. 24 h after the tour). The tour we booked a day before with another guide was great… that tour was really disappointing.Disappointed

First day Satang navigated us through the Grand Palace , wat Pho and Wat Arun. She then took us to a local market down the river where we tried delicious new fruits and foods. She was helpful, knowledgeable and just all around adorable. Next day Meaw took us to the floating market, the railway market, the fish market and the most delicious restaurant. All on the outskirts of Bangkok. She was full of knowledge and bubbly energy. Her tips and local understanding made the tour even more fascinating.
