What you can expect
Hop on a bike and discover the awesome suburbs around Alicante! Riding is not just fun but also good for you. Explore cool places nearby that are totally worth checking out. Let the adventures begin! The city and its surroundings have changed over the centuries. In past times farmers cultivated orchards and vineyards, set up vegetable gardens, and engaged in winemaking. It was a prosperous region, which attracted pirates, lovers of easy profits. Pirate raids terrified the defenseless inhabitants. From the late 15th to the end of the 17th century, about 30 watchtowers were built for protection against pirates.
The itinerary of this bike tour includes sightseeing of the best-preserved towers. You will see how their use changed over the centuries and how people managed to revive them. We will reach the monastery of Santa Fas, where one of the most revered relics, the Veil of Veronica with the unburied image of Christ, is kept. The monastery and its relic itself are shrouded by fascinating mysteries and legends that we will have to unravel.
From Santa Fas Monastery we will head to San Juan Beach. One of the most beautiful beaches on the coast.
This is an easy circle 13 km route.
