Ellie met us promptly and took us on a fabulous tour of Barcelona. She is locally based with 27 years of living in Barcelona. She coordinated with a driver who provided a comfortable vehicle and expert driving around the city. Ellie has great insights into the history and current affairs of the city and country. We saw and learned of many interesting facts and historical buildings. The 1992 Olympic areas were of particular interest to us and we toured all the key venues. Ellie was one of the best tour guides we have encountered. Her knowledge of Barcelona was impressive, especially Gaudi and the many types of architecture. And her vivid descriptions at the Sagrada Familia were so interesting! She obviously loves her adopted city, which we always appreciate. Ellie did an amazing job sharing her wonderful hometown of Barcelona with our family. The six of us ranged from 15yo to 82 yo and she kept us all captivated. Her stories were wonderfully entertaining and gave us a great start to understand this beautiful city. She was able to easily deviate from her routine and follow what we were finding interesting. We had the pleasure of touring Barcelona in September 2018 with Ellie. Our tour was a terrific combination of historical and fun sites with excellent commentary to help us understand the significance of each site. Ellie has a wealth of information and as she originates from the U.S., her perspective and information about this beautiful city (and country) is a perfect blend of both local and outside views. Ellie took time to explain the sites we would visit and was very open to changes based on our desires and previous experiences. She also had recommendations for nearby cities to visit other than Barcelona (e.g. Girona and Tossa de Mar) which we toured and enjoyed very much. Our "ride" was a nice Mercedes and the entire experience was down to earth, yet first class. We highly recommend Ellie for an educational and fun Barcelona visit. She's a keeper!Barcelona Fun!

Ellie was right on top of making sure our tour was great from the beginning. As an experienced tour guide living in Barcelona for over 20 years she knew the history, the places that were must see and arranged everything for our multigenerational family of 5. We also found out that she is from a neighbor city of ours in California, which was amazing. Ellie was amazing at keeping the smallies engaged and so enthusiastic with them. We big ones learned a lot too and a real lesson in discovering the details right in front of us and not just rushing on quickly. She didn’t overload the littlies with facts, but instead kept them looking for themes and motifs that were repeated. And they didn’t have to walk far and she knew toilet stops whenever necessary. Sagrada Familia in itself is an amazing experience. The guide was knowledgeable and well structured but tended to lose focus a couple of times. Based on our experience this tour seems to be overpriced - 200€ for an hour outside the church plus tickets to go inside on your own is a bit much.Knowledgeable and well structured

Ellie was absolutely wonderful in planning our private outside tour of the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia and my plan to propose to my, now fiancé. At the appropriate time and place I gave her my phone to video and take pictures. It was absolutely perfect and she was a wonderful photographer for us! We had a private tour with Ellie and our 3 children (ages 9, 7 and 5). Ellie was engaging from the moment we met her. The kids (and us adults) were informed of the history of Gaudi buildings, Catalonian history and culture by way of a treasure hunt. The kids were given stickers to mark landmarks on a sheet of paper. We walked to the subway and caught the tube to La Segrada Familia and learnt the history of the building. We tried chocolate and marroqui samples (the hot chocolate is next level!). At the end of the tour, the children counted their stickers and received a small prize. We said our goodbyes and made our way into the Segrada. Ellie was great. She walked us around the exterior of the basilica and explained the significance of the structures. She provided us with historical context about Gaudi and subsequent architects. Lastly, she told us what to look for once we went into the church. By the way, tickets were sold out when we tried to get them but she was able to find tickets through a third party for us.
