Jack adjusted the tour to my wishes which was great, I saw a lot and he also extended the schedule. Unfortunately he was quite unfriendly and not in the right mood. Jack is a great guide. He has an eye for photography. He even helped us rake better pictures with our phone cameras. we took a nice walk through Kampong Glen and little India and China town. up to the amazing sky park observatory. Rode the cable car for awesome views. we visited the Orchid gardens (wow) and Singapore Botanical gardens. that was just day 1! Day 2 went to the civic center and learned about Singapore planning. Merlion park, river cruuse, Gardens by the bay (amazing), Rhapsody light show (beautiful) and finally the Spectra light show. THANK-YOU Jack for the introduction to Singapore and sharing all those photos! Singapore IS the best!Jack is awesome!

Leider war die Tour das Geld nicht wert. Jack's Englisch war für uns (obwohl wir gut Englisch sprechen) kaum oder nur sehr schwer zu verstehen. War aber nicht schlimm, weil Jack uns im Grunde nichts erzählte. Wir marschierte vorweg, wir versuchten ihm mühsam im Gedränge von Chinatown zu folgen. Neue Information erhielten wir kaum, auf Fragen ging er kaum ein. Außerdem bot er uns nach kurzer Zeit an, die Tour zu beenden, weil am Vortag des chinesischen Neujahrsfestes in ChinaTown ohnehin alles geschlossen wäre (und - wo unsere Vermutung - er selbst lieber zurück nach Hause wollte). Warum bestätigt er diese Tour an diesem Abend, wenn das ein ungeeignetes Datum ist? Statt dessen überreichte uns zwei (ohnehin kostenlose) Tickets für eine öffentliche Veranstaltung in den Gardens by the Bay. Zu der Veranstaltung konnte er uns wenig sagen. Wegen seiner schlechten Zeitplanung konnten wir dorthin nur noch mit dem Taxi fahren. In Summe die schlechteste Tour ever mit einem unseres Erachtens ungeeigneten Guide - trotz seines offiziellen Tour Guide Zertifikats.Mega-Flop

Although Jack had some very good local knowledge and we were able to prize the information out of him, it was very hard work. He was quite clear that we had chosen the wrong time to do the tour, which made us wonder why he accepted the commission in the first place. Overall, we were able to gain insight into the Hawker centres and some of the local dynamics, so it wasn’t a complete waste of time. Jack let us eat a full lunch for the first of five courses, which meant every single next course was a struggle to eat and was very uncomfortable. Finally, his English was questionable, and I found it very hard to understand what he said, so consequently missed a loss of the information. Not worth the money.Could do better…

We sort of mucked Jack around with start times, and he was super chill about it (we did get there on time in the end). As we had spent 40 hours without sleep (thank you Emirates!), we didn't have any real direction for Jack, but he managed to show us some of the history and certainly his knowledge of Singapore is second to none. At the end of the 90 minute introduction to Singapore he even hand delivered us to Raffles and told us about the history of it on the way!Knowledgeable and accommodating.

Of the three people available for the 4 hour tour, Jack Zhou seemed to be a good choice - a local with the knowledge of history, architecture, culture. The tour offered a good overview with transportation and the choice of a snack or drink. Jack Zhou - What were found however was a nice person who didn’t have any thing to say beyond the obvious. We actually wanted a bit of history, an insight into culture and how Singapore developed as shown through architecture. Jack might have had that knowledge but we didn’t have that experience with him. We didn’t learn much at all. A part of the problem might have been the communication difficulties. He couldn’t understand us very well and vice versa. Within the first hour we knew this wasn’t a tour with a knowledgeable local. His pride was more in taking us to places where we could pose with a mural, and we weren’t interested in doing that at all. The other promise that was not met was transport. The walking was good but when we were to move to another part of the city, the transportation was by taxi only and we had to pay for that. It wasn’t included in the cost. Also, we were not offered the choice of snack or drink - Jack took us to a drink stand and that’s what we had. Jack was polite and friendly, without a doubt but the gap between our expectations and what he had to offer was stark. We ended the tour early. Big gap between promise and reality

I selected Jon for two things. One, he had a car (I was with a companion that I wanted to be a bit more comfortable during the tour). Second, I read in the reviews that his English was good. Imagine my surprise when I started coordinating with who I thought was Jon, and in the messages when trying to figure out where to meet we were already having difficulty understanding each other. Then, when we finally saw him, he did not look at all like the picture in the website, and it turns out Jon was not available because he was not feeling well. This also means we did not have access to a car during the tour. This should have been communicated with us so that we had a chance to decide if we wanted to continue with the tour or not - why ask us to select a guide when we end up with someone else? Ben ended up being a good guide, and very accommodating, but honestly sometims we have trouble understanding him when he speaks English fast, and also we were not entirely interested in the religious slant (and we spent a CONSIDERABLE amount of time in a Hindu temple). We wanted to learn more about the food and hawker history and of course, was looking for a bit of comfort as we already spent the whole day walking as we left our country at 2am same day and were exhausted. Again, I do not blame Ben, but we should have been informed beforehand and given the choice to cancel. Next Time Set Expectations

Jon is a great guide. He is extremely knowledgeable, witty and charming. We started the tour at 5:30 pm so we could see some of the sights during the day and others at night. I am unable to walk long distances and Jon tailored the tour to our needs. Jon's car is very comfortable and easy to get into and out of. Even though it was raining, his knowledge and passion for the city's history made the tour very enjoyable. Jon was prepared with umbrellas for us and made sure we were dry as we went from place to place. We walked Haji Lane and learned about the mosque in Kampong Glam, saw Little India and ate a wonderful vegetarian dinner in Chinatown next to the temple. Thanks to Joh, helping to order for us, we had two huge plates of food (more than we could eat) for only $8SG. We got to see everything we asked to except for the Merlion, as it was raining so hard that Jon said we would be wetter than it, if we tried to get out and see it. Jon kept us engaged as we traveled asking us questions testing our knowledge and filling in the gaps. Would highly recommend Jon to anyone looking for a private tour of Singapore.Great

My tour guide, Jack, was amazing! I corresponded with him for several weeks before our arrival to develop a customized tour that was a hybrid of typical tours. He was fully cooperative to help us find the best balance that met our expectations, which also provided him with an opportunity to give us his recommendations. We had a short overlay in Singapore with 6 hours. The decision to have Johns Singapore by night tour, was just perfect. We met John at 7pm at the happy Chinatown district. We walked through streets , markets, pedestrian areas where the citizens of Singapore take at night a short break. We had some food in an special market and continued our tour by having a short ride by underground to the Bay Area. At this place we watched a special moment what was thrilling. After that we went to the sand hotel , mall to finish there the tour after 3 hours. John was prepared with all things you might need during the tour. Mosquito spray, hand tissue, a blanket, water and so on. We were traveling as family with three teenagers, what complaint before and where amazed after the tour.
