Cape Town's Whales & Wine day trip with Seafood Lunch in Cape Town - b07e5edd0ac7b658f350770c92c618f7

As a life long resident of the Cape, I regularly visit Hermanus and the Overberg region. I also worked in the area for few years. I have also visited the area on numerous occasions to golf, fish, paddle, surf and holiday. Whales and nature are interwoven into the fabric of the area and I have a very good idea of where to spot whales along the coastline as well as offer local knowledge since I was a child.

* Whale season is from April to October, this trip is still worthwhile as there are opportunities to spot all manner of sea creatures.

Hermanus has been judged as the best place for whale watching in the world (April to October). There is also a world-class coastal drive along the mountains flanking the sea.

We also have the opportunity to visit a penguin colony in the Kogelbay biosphere with magnificent fynbos. The penguin visit is dependent on the weather conditions, thereafter as an alternative we go to the Harold Porter botanical garden for a relaxing stroll.

The Hermanus town is our destination where we can spot whales from the old harbor or cliff paths.

There is an option for a boat trip to view the whales up close and personal which is exhilirating. This is at an additional cost to the guest subject to weather.

We will have a seafood lunch before doing a wine tasting in the Hemel-En-Aarde valley.

He gave us insights about not only South African tourist places but also the history of South Africa. I recommend Trevor's tours to anyone visiting South Africa. Thanks, Trevor. Trevor was highly informative. He took time to take us to the Penguins (Bettys Bay) and then Hermanus and finally the Vineyard for a tasting (Newton Johnson). The Restaurant which he took us to (in Hermanus), Bientang's, was also very nice. However, I wished we made the trip a bit more exciting and we should have insisted on getting to more than 1 spot for vineyards. Unfortunately (as it was not the season), we spotted no whales nor dolphins.

Having Trevor take us to hidden places around Hermaneus, a place we thought we knew quite well, was an exceptional experience. Eating a fish lunch at a restaurant on a beach but without crowds was special . Then there was the wine tasting. Trevor know his wines and the varieties he picked for me at the two wineries were first class. Oh and I almost forgot to mention the whales-- they could be seen, even though they were not as close in shore as I have previously experienced. A great day out.. Local knowledge makes a difference

I learnt a lot about the local Wines, and the Vineyards are stunning as is the coastal backdrop and drive. We had the absolute pleasure of spending two days with Trevor as our private guide, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the moment Trevor arrived, it was clear that he was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also genuinely kind and passionate about sharing the beauty and history of the Cape Town area. On our first day, we started with a visit to the colorful Bo-Kaap, where Trevor shared fascinating insights into the rich cultural history of the area. Then, we made our way to the iconic Cape of Good Hope. On the drive there, Trevor pointed out so much local wildlife that we would have easily missed on our own. His keen eye and deep understanding of the natural environment really made the journey come alive! Once we reached Cape of Good Hope, Trevor’s knowledge of the history, wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes made the experience even more special. We then wrapped up the day at Boulders Beach, where Trevor gave us a deeper understanding of the penguin conservation effortsβ€”such a memorable visit! On our second day, we headed to Stellenbosch, where we visited some incredible wineries. Trevor’s expertise in wine truly made the experience stand out, and his recommendations were perfect. We enjoyed fantastic wines in beautiful vineyard settings while learning about the wine-making process from Trevor’s knowledgeable perspective. Trevor was always punctual, thoughtful, and accommodating, ensuring we were comfortable and making the most of every moment. If you’re looking for a guide who knows Cape Town inside and out, can show you both the iconic sights and hidden gems, and is a genuinely kind person, we highly recommend Trevor! Amazing

I reached out to Trevor about the possibility of putting together a private wine tour focusing on biodynamic and organic wine. Not only did he immediately had ideas, but he was clearly very excited about the prospect of organizing a more off-the-beaten path tour. Our day was truly exceptional. We visited four wineries, each with a different character, highlighting different aspects of Western Cape viticulture. We were even lucky enough to be able to have in-depth conversations with staff involved in the production of the wine at two wineries. Trevor is professional, knowledgeable (both about the wine and about the history/culture/nature of the Western Cape), and exceptionally open-minded. He asked questions of the winery staff which allowed me to learn about aspects of the wine-making process that I would not otherwise have even thought to inquire about. Most of all, Trevor's passion for his work, for wine, and for South Africa made my time with him more than just a typical tourist experience. I did not just learn facts but gained real insight through the experience. This is my second time in Cape Town and if I ever have the chance to return here, without a doubt I will be reaching out to Trevor again.Passion, Knowledge, Wisdom

We had an amazing day visiting the So African wine country with Trevor. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and we enjoyed being with him. We also learned a lot about the history of So African as well as the different regions and wineries we visited. He tailored the trip to our requests and was still able to give us a overview of the area and took us to 3 different wineries for tastings. He chose a good variety, each unique in its own way. The car was a bit tight for the four of us but we managed. Trevor made the whole day fun and a great learning experience. We highly recommend both him and the tour of the wine country. You won’t be disappointed.Winelands tour

Trevor picked us up at our hotel in Cape Town and we drove into Stellenbosch & Franschhoek region. Trevor is friendly and knowledge of wine & wine making was great. We had lunch at fabulous picked places by Trevor. He gets to know you well asking questions of your wine preference, food preference etc. So the wineries we hit were great for our red wine taste. Trevor also did a variety of wineries ranging from boutique wineries to large production. Trevor brings up other things in the area to stop at that he feels you will be interesting to see. I high recommend Trevor for any tours as he will get to know what you are looking to do an your interest and take you to fabulous stops. Love Cape Town and the areas around it. Beautiful area. A place you don't want to miss. Wine country north of Cape Town in the Stellenbosch & Franschhoek region. Great Day!
