   By car we will leave Naples' hustle behind, and head towards Campania's rural areas. On the way I will share with you more about life in my region and city, our culture and folklore.

5. Castled away

   Let's discover the beautiful village of Montesarchio: its alleys and tiny squares, the water fountains and the cobblestones. The view on top of the hill will leave you speechless!

6. Lunch time

   Let's stop for lunch in a typical family-run agriturismo nested in the heart of a Mediterranean valley. We will rest and fill our bellies with tasty and locally-produced delicacies. It will have the taste of tradition and nonna's love.

7. Like two peas in a pod

   It's time to head to the second of the villages you will visit with me on this trip. Naples' countryside will surprise you one more time: Sant'Agata de' Goti offers wonderful views & unique peoples. Stroll back in time and get carried away by the magic of this real hidden gem!

8. END

   I grant you will want to stay there forever, but it is time to head back to Naples. We will say goodbye in Piazza Garibaldi Central Station.

We had a wonderful and relaxing day with Rita, seeing the medieval villages of Montesarchio and Sant'Agate dei Goti. It was great to get out of the city and see the countryside and villages that we certainly wouldn't have found on our own. She took us to a wonderful lunch overlooking the Taburno mountain in between the stops, making for a nice, relaxing pace. Rita has excellent English and is a wealth of knowledge on local history as well as places to visit, eat, and drink, giving us some good suggestions for our evening back in Naples. Rita is a lovely guide however due to her last minute addition of her friend she lost her focus on us as a tour guide. Our mistake to agree to the addition. The cities were beautiful but the church was closed and therefore could not get in. Most of the town was closed for the afternoon so shopping was out too. I had to probe with questions to get information about sites along the way and the historical significance of the places we were shown. I think this would have been different if her friend was not with us. Disappointed

We are so glad we booked this tour. It was nice to be on a private tour after two group tours in the same week. It was also great to be in villages in the mountain and nature as opposed to the beautiful coastal towns we also visited. Rita was very attentive and kind enough to ensure that I had a gluten free lunch that also met our particular needs. My husband and I spent a wonderful day with Rita visiting two small, quiet villages in the hills around Naples. Quite a change from the busy, noisy atmosphere of Naples. Rita is a good driver and has a comfortable car. She picked us up and returned us to our apartment which made everything so easy. We had coffee in the town square, a lovely lunch in a shady garden and a cool drink on a nice balcony overlooking a green valley. Rita is a lively, charming person and made our tour fun. We are so happy to have booked the Medieval Villages Day Trip with Rita! She provided an amazing opportunity for us to see a part of Italy we would not have been able to experience on our own. She picked us up at the port in a comfortable vehicle, and whisked us away for a day of adventure. We loved exploring the two villages with her - one with a medieval castle and museum, and the other with a really interesting church - and neither with even a hint of other tourists nearby! Both villages were like visiting a storybook and being inside your very own fairy tale - with beautiful scenes around each corner and gorgeous views of the Campagna region. The lunch stop was phenomenal as well - perhaps one of the best meals we experienced during our two weeks in Italy. She was such a great conversationalist and guide - it felt like we met up with an old friend for a day of exploring. We booked a private culinary tour, Our guide Rita was very friendly and competent. But unfortunately the tour was not worth the money. We paid for two persons 150 EUR. The tour was announced to last 2 hours, but in fact it was 1.5 hrs. We tasted espresso, one small portion of candele alle genovese together, taralli and spritz for each of us. We have taken a tour with With Locals before so I knew this would be perfect introduction to Naples. And it was just that. Rita was such a wonderful person and guide. Rita was an excellent host, and so knowledgeable that she was easily able to tailor the tour to accommodate our dog. We saw exactly what we’d hoped for, the key sights of Napoli as well as some of the lessor known spots. Rita was totally brilliant. As well as being utterly adorable, she was so knowledgeable and passionate about her city. As well as the fascinating history and architecture of the incredible city of Napoli, she gave us ideas of how to spend the rest of our trip (we went to Sorrento). She also told us about some of the local food and while she was surprised at the area we were staying, we managed to find a local restaurant near our hotel that served the delicious genovese she had described 😊 Cannot recommend highly enough and a private tour, while a little more expensive, is definitely the way to go.Absolute best way to Naples.
