We had a fantastic day walking around Florence with Maria. Maria was friendly and informative and showed us some really unique spots along the way. From a family run wine on tap establishment to a 500 year old wine cellar and some other shared stories along the way, Maria immersed us in the local culture of the area while avoiding the busy tourist spots. We truly enjoyed peaking behind the curtains of the daily life of Florentines that is difficult to see amongst the sea of people visiting from all over the world while enjoying delicious wine and an outstanding meat and cheese board to cap it all off. Maria was flexible with our family when there was a sudden urge from our teenagers to eat paninis and gelato which is exactly what we were looking for. We will definitely utilize with locals again in the future and hope to be able to come back to Florence and enjoy a glass of wine with Maria when she is off the clock. So Local!

Michele’s knowledge of the history of the renaissance as it applied to the Medici family and the leading artists of the time was presented in an engaging and understandable manner. Metal pictures of the events could be conjured up with his excellent narration. This was perhaps enhanced by both his art history background and his acting abilities to present both a factual as well as an engaging picture of the times. All questions were responded to and thoroughly answered. We thoroughly enjoyed the time with Michele and wish him all the best in his future. We went on the 10 tastings of Florence tour with Georgio. You should choose Geegio for many good reasons. He planned a great tasting tour for us - quite many different experiences and the Gelato in the end was incredible. My husband and I had the best time on this tour! Ana was incredibly knowledgeable about the city and showed us some spots we definitely would not have found on our own. While it was very hot and the timing of our tour was not ideal, as we were visiting in August and a lot of places were closed for the summer vacation, Ana filled the time seamlessly and gave us plenty of different options, keeping us in the shade whenever possible and getting us cold and refreshing drinks to fend off the heat. We learned a ton about the city, ate some of the most delicious and authentic food either of us had ever tasted, drank delicious wines, and finished off the tour with refreshing gelato. Ultimately, we don’t feel as though we missed out on anything due to closures and the heat was well worth it for the experience Ana delivered! Highly recommend! Ana was the best!

Eduardo was a fantastic tour guide. He was patient with our large group ranging from age 3 to age 82. We spent 5 hours with him and saw so much of Florence. He also was wonderful with recommending other things to do and see during our stay. We would highly recommend Eduardo; he even mentioned he could do trips to Siena and other cities. His background as a history teacher added so much interesting color to the tour as well. Definitely book him if you are looking for a local guide! Awesome tour of Florence!

Ana is lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting her. She was warm, friendly and helpful, she even offered to help if we had any queries during the rest of our stay. It was an expensive activity for what you get. The beignets, meats, cheese, bread, wines, biscuits and gelato were delicious, however the pizza was terrible. It was lovely to chat with someone who has made Florence her home. Ana also accommodated our quirks (one vegetarian, one with a nut allergy, one that doesn’t drink). Maria truly made our Florentine experience the most special we could’ve asked for. My fiancée and I got engaged the day before our tour, but it was being able to take part in local cuisine, and exploring the parts of Florence we would’ve otherwise overlooked that made us feel that we were able to spend our time here as well as we could. Maria takes the time to make sure we got the best of each spot, learn about the daily culture as well as the history, and even gave us the space to enjoy the different locations privately (even pouring us wine when our glasses were getting empty). Even on a 100F degree day, she stood in line for the best gelato for us while we fanned ourselves in the shade. She couldn’t have been kinder, and the other locals knew her as well, frequently chatting her up like a close friend. If you book with Maria, she will listen to your preferences (go get the Lampredotto & Tripe, you’re missing out if not), order for you, and make sure you’re taken care of. We would book with her again and again. The best thing we’ve done on our trip

We had a fantastic experience touring the Uffizi Gallery with Eduardo as our guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the art, but what really stood out was his ability to keep the entire family engaged—including our three young kids! We had a great experience walking with Ana. We were three adults newly arrived in Florence. We had booked the tour from home. Communications with Ana before meeting were excellent, both in greeting and for arrangements to meet on the day. We met at a café/bar on the Duomo piazza. Ana was charming and most welcoming. After introductions we had coffee and learnt from Ana some of the customs around bars and coffee, most helpful for the rest of the week (we have toured in Italy before but it turned out that there was much we did not know!). Ana then took us walking, mentioning, explaining, informing and advising as we went, collecting useful recommendations on where we might eat during the week. We visited some points off the tourist trails with interesting stories. Ana was thoroughly engaging. We had stops for coffee and wine. A particular memory will be cheese and cold meat tasting at a delightful small, old-established delicatessen, finishing at a favourite gelateria. Quite deliberately we took our tour on the first evening of our visit to Florence and appreciated the suggestions and advice for further visits during the week of our stay. Ana was thoroughly good company. We came away delighted with the experience. We will be very happy to use ‘With Locals’ again on future city holidays. Thank you Ana!
