My wife and I spent a full day with Luis visiting Fatima, Nazare, and Obidos. Luis has a warm and engaging personality, and he made us feel welcome from the start. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of Portugal, including its history and culture, and he is articulate and eloquent in sharing his knowledge. His English is excellent, and he also speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish. He was sensitive to our needs and he customized the tour to our preferences. Luis is very knowledgeable about his country, very personable and easy to talk to. He picked us up at our hotel promptly at 9AM and away we went. We had a great time visiting Fatima, Óbidos, and Nazaré. Luis customized the tour to include a stop at Batalha because of our interest in historical sites. Lunch was very pleasant in Nazaré at a lovely seafood restaurant next to the beach. We had a great time, didn't feel at all rushed, discussed many, many topics, as one does when spending 9 hours together. I would definitely recommend Luis to any of our fellow travelers. We don’t often choose to take tours but the combination of a birthday and a broken arm called for something special. Joao certainly delivered that, and we had the best imaginable day. Joao is not just a very personable encyclopaedia of history and local knowledge, but also caring, thoughtful and has a great sense of humour. He’s also a really good driver. We visited Fatima, Nazare and Obidos and with a bonus little detour to a special place. Much of what we saw we’d never have found by ourselves, including the great family run restaurant where we had a delicious lunch. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to appreciate whatever we focused on, yet we still saw so much and had a few stops for coffees and overindulgence in some sensational ’pastries’! All up, it was a terrific day, and a very memorable experience. For a tour with those special insights only a local knows, I think this was unbeatable. Highly recommended.A brilliant tour experience!

If you have extra time in Lisbon, this is a fabulous tour. Joao was one of the best guides we’ve ever had due to his personable style, vast knowledge, and local experience . We not only saw amazing sites but learned a lot about Portugal past and present. He also shared 2 very yummy treats with us. What an Awesome Day! We were in town for a few days after our Jazz cruise & this was one of them. We wanted to tour cities outside of Lisbon.Joao picked us up from out hotel & Off we went! Obidos is Beautiful ( Medievil town) nice shops & Archetecture. Nazare is a lovely seaside village we shopped & had a lovely Lunch. Last stop Fatima sanctuary of the Virgin Mary. Our day with Alexandra was a blast from start to finish. She picked us up near our hotel and took us to several individual places that we wanted to visit and then dropped us off at our hotel at our final destination. She knew a ton about each of the towns and sites that we visited and gave us really great information and insight into each. We did an 8 hour tour with Rita to Fatima, Nazare and Obidous (forgive my spelling, can’t recall how to spell the last one). Rita was knowledgeable and educated about the areas and history. Rita felt like an old friend to us, we were 4 older women traveling together and all of us spoke English. Rita is fluent in English and I think 4 other languages! She is quite impressive! We mentioned that we were looking for transportation to Madrid and she helped us arrange that as well. She’s a gem and I hope to see her again!Rita is awesome

We started the day bright and early. We travelled to Fatima and on the drive João filled us in on Portugal and it’s culture…we learned a lot! Fatima was great and he got us there in time for Mass. after Fatima we drove to Nazaré, Alcobaça and Óbidos. Each stop was so charming and beautiful. There was never a dull moment on this tour. One of the highlights of our family trip to Portugal was a day spent with Rita visiting Batalha, Obidos, and Nazare.
