We booked the day trip tour to Pingxi, Jiufen etc. with Daphne, but she unfortunately couldn't make it. She made arrangements for her colleague Carmelo to bring us so we could still do the tour, which was ok. He took us to all the places we wanted to see, and it was really beautiful. We even got some water and snacks for free, and it was nice to have a private driver who knew where to go. We missed a little more information along the way about where we were going and the history etc. about the places, but it was a good experience all in all.Great places to see

William met us at the Cruise Terminal and took us for a very interesting and informative day out prior to our late evening flight home. He is easy to understand, very accommodating and knows his city and its sights. He understood our need to take it easy and helped us where admissions, etc needed a local language speaker. We booked the Pingxi, Shifen & Jiufen Day Trip experience with Nicolas. We saw some beautiful spots on the tour and painted our own lantern, Nicolas took us to a great spot for lunch which must have beautiful views when it is not raining. Due to the wheater we wanted to change the plan so Nicolas suggested a tea tasting at his favourite teashop which was great and a very unique experience. Driving with Nicolas was very safe and conversation is easy. We can definitely recommend this tour, thank you Nicolas!Great day despite the rain

We had the pleasure of spending the day with Nicolas as our guide, and it was truly a highlight of our trip to Taiwan. From the moment we met, Nicolas impressed us with his deep knowledge of Taiwanese history and culture, which he shared with humour, insight, and genuine passion. Travelling with a teenager can sometimes be tricky, but Nicolas was incredibly accommodating and made sure everyone felt included and engaged throughout the day. He took us on a fantastic tour of Shifen and Jiufen - where we marvelled at waterfalls, released sky lanterns, explored beautiful temples, tasted delicious traditional dishes, and admired the coastal views. The day ended on a magical note with a serene and elegant tea ritual, hosted by Nicholas’s gracious friend. It was such a special experience - an unexpected highlight that will stay with us for a long time. We can’t recommend Nicolas highly enough. The visit to the Shifen Waterfall 十分瀑布 was beautiful, the visit to the village Shifen Old Street 十分老街 was spectacular, but we missed the necessary help to find out where to eat. At the end of the day the visit to the Jioufen 九份, was very fast, looked all nice, but we were not able to enjoy it very much due to the short available time.Fast through the gold miner's valley

I visited Tainan City, Taiwan for business and left myself 1 day and night for sight-seeing and exploring in the Taipei area. Daphne organized a perfect day for me to see historical and cultural epicenters filled with several traditional experiences: traditional Taiwanese tea time, barbecue by the biggest waterfall in Taiwan (!!), and paper lantern decorating and release in a local village. Following our day, Daphne shared some of her favorite cocktail bars in the ‘hip’ Xinyi district where each had a different vibe. I am looking forward to visiting Taiwan again within the next few months and going on a different adventure with her!Taipei in a day!

We had an amazing time with Daphne exploring Pingxi an Juifen. Daphne was an excellent tour guide Showing us the magic of an old mining town and a town filled with good food, plenty of souvenirs, and incredible scenery. She was patient and allowed us to do the tour at our own pace. She introduced us to many wonderful people. I had always wanted to Jun release lantern With heartfelt wishes into the air and she took us to a Very professional shop Daphne coordinated an excellent driver who was able to navigate through some Windy roads safely through the mountains. We were actually a group of five and she coordinated a larger van for us which enabled us to have a more comfortable transportation. I highly recommend using Daphne as a guide. Ask her command of English is impeccable and she is prompt and his excellent communication skills. We spent the day with Daphne and had an amazing time. There are many people who offer their services and I think you should immediately book Daphne if she is available. We are a family of 6 with our youngest at 11. She speaks English extremely well and took us to many cool areas around Taipei. I never felt pressured and she was very patient with everyone. She was enthusiastic about the tour and never looked bored. We went to Pingxi, Shifen & Jiufen. She knew all the right places to go. In addition, we went to any store or stall we picked and she did not try to steer us to one place or another if we had a different preference. Nicolas was an excellent tour guide and very flexible and understanding. He is extremely knowledgeable and knows exactly where to take his guests. Our experience in Jiufen was fantastic, largely avoiding the crowds. We found great restaurants and tea houses along the way. Laterns in Shifen was also quite the experience second to none. My wife and I enjoyed our day tour with Nicolas who tailored our day tour to accommodate our requests. We wanted to spend some quiet time enjoying nature and the mountain scenery while avoiding the crowds. We especially enjoyed our first stop near Jingtong(?) where we felt like the only visitors there. The friendly proprietor made us a nice coffee while we enjoyed the mountain scenery. His playful little cat provided us with much entertainment. Nicolas told us the interesting history of the small towns which were previously established for coal and gold mining. Daphne is an incredible guide. She's so accommodating and kind and a wealth of knowledge! The day trip to Jiufen, Pingxi, and Shifen Waterfall was Fantastic. The hike to the top of Keelung Mountain was a delightfully unexpected way to get some exercise, and see the northern mountains, towns and ocean of Taiwan. Plus it worked up an appetite for the "lu rou fan" lunch and the peanut candy shaved mochi ice cream (WITH CILANTRO!!) desert!! It was wonderful to have a guide willing to educate me in the some of the local Taiwan traditions. The Sky-Lantern in Pingxi was a dream come true, and although the Shifen Waterfalls were, Hysterical, the fact you showed me how to Pray to the Four Faced Buddha meant so much to me!! Thank-You Daphne!! You are a Wonderful Ambassador, Person and Guide!! I hope Your Wish Comes True!!Fun, Challenging, Filled with Surprise!!

My wife and I took the Shifen and Jiufen tour with Nicholas and it was the best tour we had in Taiwan! He was funny, knowledgeable, and just an all-around good guy! My wife was born in Taiwan and it was my first time visiting yet Nicholas was able to teach us both many new things. Lighting the lanterns in Shifen was more fun than I thought and having tea at Jiufen was beautiful. A very nice day out around Taipei with Jessica, despite the rainy weather. Visited both waterfalls in Shifen, released a lantern and strolled around in the Old Street of Jiufen. Opted for a local lunch instead of the lunch box and Jessica's recommendation was a delicious choice! My partner and I had a great time exploring with Jack. The weather wasn’t good but that didn’t matter, Jack had great umbrellas for us & even have us his jacket to use. My day with Jack was fantastic. He was kind enough to pick me up at my hotel and drove us in his very nice vehicle first to Shifen, the town and the waterfall, then on to Jiufen. He recommend the best food items to try and they were all delicious! He is very knowledgeable about both the sites we visited as well as the general history of Taiwan. We had great conversations throughout the day! We left Jiufen city and explored the gold museum, the WWII POW site and memorial and then the beautiful coast. As my short visit to Taiwan was centered in Taipei, Jacks tour gave me the only opportunity to see these sites on a compressed timeline. Don’t come to Taiwan without giving yourself this opportunity.
