We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Gennaro. He picked us up at our AirBnb, which took the stress out of our morning. He told us all about the history of Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Our drive was relaxing, with beautiful views and commentary. Each stop was planned, so we could enjoy all of the sights, with time for extra exploring if we wanted. The food recommendations were perfect, and we visited the special pastry shop featured on Stanley Tucci’s Searching For Italy. We added an optional Wine and Food Pairing at a winery on the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius. It was a special ending of a perfect day. Gennaro was extremely helpful when we had to change our travel plans the following day, due to an unexpected train strike. Truly a 5 star experience!!Perfect day in the Amalfi Coast!

Mariagrazia was very nice, but she was more a driver than a tour guide. This is what the itinerary said what was in store for us: Check out from viewpoints, nature, and cultural gems such as Villa Oplonti, Positano and Amalfi plus other stops your local host has prepared for you along the way. Unfortunately, the description did not match the actual tour. We had three stops and got back to Naples 45 minutes before the tour was to end. Stop 1 was to try fresh mozzarella and cheese. Loved this! Our next stop was Positano but it seemed like she really didn't want to be go there and she stayed in the car for the hour that we explored the seaside town. Then it was off to Amalfi where we ate lunch at her cousin's restaurant that has an incredible water view. It also was the most expensive restaurant we ate at during our entire trip. After our lunch we were told we could explore the town for an hour. Our tour guide stayed behind in the restaurant and we went out again on our own without a guide. Since we had paid for a tour guide, we did not research what to do in the towns because that is what a tour guide is for, right? We never visited Villa oplonti and the description of the tour states that tickets for Villa Oplontis are included. Just OK

We spent nine hours with Gennaro and would have gladly spent nine more. The wealth of knowledge, the kindness and attentiveness and more importantly: his passion and genuineness in wanting to share what he calls: "his Napoli" with you only gives you a deeper appreciation of a place long misunderstood. Even though this was a City Escape, you truly cannot detach Napoli from the Amalfi Coast and though we were taken on a day full of beauty, Gennaro wove history with his wonderful story telling between these two iconic geographical points, providing us with a well informed overview of the past and present. The benefit of having a private tour is the opportunity to design specifics and move at your own pace. Gennaro is attentive and listens very carefully to your needs. He is kind by wanting to share as much as you want and is also intuitive enough to tell you when you should do something. Having had no expectations of what we wanted out of the Amalfi Coast tour, only wanting to experience it, Gennaro expertly provided us with opportunities to enjoy the spectacular views, avoid the crazy crowds of Amalfi and Positano, without diluting the overall experience of Amalfi. Though we could go on and on as to why Gennaro is a terrific guide, we would like to simply say that if you want professionalism, knowledge, and feel as if an old friend was showing you around his "heaven," Gennaro is your man. We cannot recommend Gennaro enough...in fact, we feel so fortunate he was available and hope to have another opportunity to connect with him in the future!Book Gennaro Now

The trip was so picturesque!! The car we were in was undoubtedly the smallest car I've ever ridden in. We crammed 4 people into the smallest car I've ever been in. It made for a very long day. We wouldn't do it again unfortunately. It was beautiful

Personally, the tour was a complete disappointment and unfortunately Roberto didn't have a well thought-out concept for this trip. Instead of using the beautiful coastal road via Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi, we travelled backwards via Angri to Ravello. No coastline far and wide. Not understandable for me. If you book this tour, the coastal road should be a must. The same route via Angri was chosen for the return journey. A stop in Sorrento was not planned. There were also no various viewpoints along the coast (for photos) for me as a guest. That was the first big disappointment. The visit to Villa Rufolo in Ravello was to be the only thing I saw. The planned 90-minute visit was far too long for that. We then had lunch at the Garden Hotel Ristorante (Ravello). Unfortunately, Roberto did not recommend any dishes in the restaurant. But that's exactly what I expect from a local guide who chooses the restaurant. While I chose a dish from the menu, Roberto ordered a delicacy for himself that wasn't on the menu. I was allowed to sample "the mountain" of delicious calamari and it was better than my dish. This was the second big disappointment for me as a guest who had also invited Roberto. The visit to Maiori consisted of walking along the seafront in the midday sun. In Minori we had a lemon dessert, which I was allowed to eat standing up. That concludes the third disappointment. As a guest, I was not recommended or shown any other sights or exquisite shops where you can buy typical regional delicacies (e.g. limoncello). The tour was also supposed to include tickets and a visit to Villa Oplontis. No trace of this either. Anyone offering tours to the Amalfi Coast at a price of around €600 should be able to offer their guests much more. I therefore cannot recommend the tour with Roberto!!! Tour with very little Amalfi Coast

We had a great day. We didn’t have any previous ideas of what to see other than watching a TV show about the area. Mariagrazia knew the show and took us to places better than the show. She showed us Her Amalfi coast. Every where we went we got special treatment because we were with Mariagrazia. From flexible restaurant reservations to preferred water taxi’s. I highly recommend. We had an awesome time on our tour with Federica. She was waiting for us when we got off the ship since we were headed to Positano from Naples. She did exactly what we had requested with flexibility during the day. She was knowledgeable about the region with helpful tips and recommendations. We had a great time with Mariagrazia. Her communication was great prior to our day with her. She was also able to adjust the pickup spot to make it easier for us. While on our trip, she was awesome at pointing out history and local points of interest. She took us to a cheese factory and we were able to see mozzarella being made and we even were able to try the cheese right from the production line. You can’t get any fresher than that! She also took us to try some local sweets that were amazing. I could go on and on as we experienced much more than what I have noted, however, I wanted to at least call the places that we would have never experienced if we were a part of a big tour group. It was fun because she engaged all of us and had some fun conversations with our kids and our youngest about video games. This was our third time using With Locals and it did not disappoint. It is so much better as Mariagrazia didn’t take the “normal” tourist route which would have added a lot of driving time and less time experiencing the local culture. We cannot recommend her enough as we had a great day with her! Fun experience seeing the Amalfi coast

We had a wonderful and relaxing day with Mariagrazia as she drove us to see the towns along the Amalfi Coast. We met up with her at the Central Naples train station and then headed to Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi where we wandered a bit I. Town and enjoyed a delicious seaside lunch and Ravello, where we toured the Villa Rufala which to me was the most beautiful location. She gave us lots of information along the way about the culture, the history, the sea and land, the food, seems like everyone knew her everywhere we stopped as well, which was fun. Heading back we stopped in the side of the road for the best lemon ice I’ve ever had. And she helped my husband find the sunglasses he was hoping to buy while in Italy nearby, too. We spent a whole day with Gennaro showing us the Amalfi coast. The experience was way more than we had expected. Gennaro is a wonderful person full of knowledge about the area and has lots of enthusiasm for his work. We were very lucky with the weather and also the fact that we travelled before the main season started, when there are not as many tourists. Gennaro showed us the most beautiful spots on the coast and, while driving, we learnt about history, culture and people in the Gulf of Naples. The city of Naples is a whole different experience than the coast and at the end of the day Gennaro showed us one of his favorite spots in Naples. Two couples chose Genarro for a tour of the Amalfi coast. Due to a complication, he found a replacement for us. We had also booked him for a private wine tasting, food tour of Naples, and tour of Pompeii a few weeks later. We did not meet up with him until the wine tasting as we had a knowledgeable guide give us a tour of Pompeii. Genarro is a very interesting and compassionate human being. We had an extraordinary time on our food tour of Naples. Eating our way through the city was a very fun experience. We trusted Genarro to choose the best foods for us to taste and he did not disappoint. Do yourself a favor and book this charismatic man for a tour. You will not regret it. Mariagrazia was absolutely amazing. My husband and I had about Amalfi but Mariagrazia showed us Amalfi Coast. She was so knowledgeable about the area. We let her guide us and what time it was. We tasted fresh mozzarella and ricotta cheese😻 Fresh figs. Toured a beautiful grotto. Had the most delicious lemon slush. Lunch was FANTASTIC!!! We let her choose and it was the best meal!! We also learned a lot of Italian. Mariagrazia is the best you could ask for in a tour guide. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Best day ever!!

Can not speak more highly of Franco. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about Naples and the surrounding area. If you appreciate art and history, he is your man! From the moment Gennaro picked us up, he shared his expert knowledge on the history of Naples, Amalfi Coast, Capri, and the surrounding countryside. He knew the best spots for pictures, food, limoncello! Gennaro was an amazing host. From the time he picked us up at the hotel to the end of the day he was full of useful information and the perfect host. He was such a great guide as he connected the day before to ensure we had the perfect day planned for our family of three--(one student who is 22 and staying here in Rome to study) and that we would be traveling to the areas we most wanted to see. Sorrento, Positano, Minori, Amalfi and Ravello---even adjusting the tour to our liking. After he knew we were not great fans of all the crowds he arranged more time in Ravello which was perfect! The gardens were beautiful, the crowds minimal, and the views amazing! His love of the Napoli area was evident and his passion for travel, food, and ensuring we understand all the positives the area has to offer was evident. From ensuring we tried the off the beaten path--not yet known pastry shops in not one, but two areas (not sharing the names so they remain unknown ) to ensuring we had time to walk to the beach in both Positano and Minori. He also made the drive time fly by with his understanding of the history of each area and what makes them unique. From the moment we met Gennaro we could tell he had good energy. He shared the same love of travel and excellent food. We spent the day driving along the beautiful Amalfi Coast stopping at breathtaking vistas to take pictures. Gennaro shared his passion for the area and gave us detailed information about the landscape and culture. We stopped at his friend’s limoncello shop and saw first hand how to make limoncello. I am excited to enjoy my limoncello spritz when I return home. We stopped at a beautiful restaurant on the sea and enjoyed a delicious pizza while my kids took a swim in the Mediterranean Sea. It was an amazing day in a place I have always dreamed of visiting. I will treasure my memories made with my family in Italy. Our party of four adults (mom, dad, and 2 college students) had a great time with Mariagrazia on our driving tour of Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi. She took us to the best photo sites, places to eat/snack, shopping, and local attractions. We also skipped the crowds and dined at her cousin’s seaside restaurant in Amalfi, but there was absolutely no pressure to dine there—all itinerary decisions were made by us guests. My wife and I had the pleasure of taking a tour of the Amalfi Coast with Mariagrazia. She was a fantastic guide that went above and beyond to provide us with a unique experience tailored you our specific requests, including a surprise stop along the way in her hometown where we were able to sample and purchase some delicious local cheese. On top of that, we were able to taste some amazing grilled artichokes being sold on the street, which was a real treat. Throughout the day, we stopped at various local shops and were able to enjoy a fantastic lunch right on the ocean. As if all of this wasn't enough, Mariagrazia even took us on a short tour of Napoli before saying our goodbyes. Overall, the tour was absolutely wonderful, and our guide was incredibly fun, knowledgeable and an absolute delight. Gennaro was very timely communicating with us prior to our tour. He was very flexible regarding where we were to meet and even picked us up at our apartment. He was very informative regarding our tour, took us to the best spots to see fantastic views of Napoli and used the time we had to see the most relevant towns. Our day began with my Dad, Fiancé and I meeting our wonderful travel manager Mariagrazia at the train station were she collected us. Instantly her friendly personality put as at ease as we set off into a mixture of cheese, Limoncello and chocolate tasting. Having Maria with us gave us a whole new perspective and real insight what it could be like to be a local in the region. Maria was very proactive and booked a wonderful seaside restaurant for us to enjoy lunch in the Amalfi Coast. Furthermore, it’s worth noting her driving skills are fantastic, the roads may twist and turn but she got us there without feeling sick (which is impressive as we normally do on similar roads). I strongly recommend Maria as she truly made our trip memorable. Amazing day trip to Amalfi Coast

My husband and I spent all day with Mariagrazia exploring the Amalfi coast. She picked us up very close to our apartment in Naples and drove us in her very nice, comfortable car to begin our adventure. She is an excellent driver and we felt safe in her capable hands on the narrow, twisting roads. She provided us with many opportunities to take pictures and view the panoramic scenery. Lunch was delicious at a waterfront restaurant in Amafi. We toured the Doumo and tasted Limoncello. After a last stop in delightful Ravello we returned to Naples. Mariagrazia is a friendly, charming person and speaks perfect English. We highly recommend her tour. You will not be disappointed.Wonderful day with Mariagrazia

We had a lively one day tour with Maria. Visit Amalfi and the esmerald cave. Maria did everything to make this trip funny and pure italian feeling. Maria arranged for us to have a very nice lunch in a very beatifull place with a typical family owned ambiance, sea views and lemon trees fragance. Lear how to make Pizza and laught singining italian songs. Certainly a jouney to remenber. Thanks Maria.Lovely time

My husband and I traveled from L.A. to Naples to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. We requested Mariagrazia through Withlocals. She arrived on time(even a little early) and picked us up at our hotel. We spent the whole day together. Mariagrazia speaks English fluently. She also graciously allowed me to try my beginner Italian. Mariagrazia brought us to the most beautiful places on the Amalfi Coast. We saw much more than we would have on a bus tour. Gianpaolo was a great guide for me., conversation was easy and we spoke of the region, and language throughout the day. I didn’t have much time to explore the region on my own but I really wanted to get the highlights. To know what to comeback to for a deeper dive. We moved at the speed I wanted pausing to look into a few shops here and there or take photos. I didn’t feel stuck in the car or like we wasted time on things I wasn’t interested in. I would do another tour with Gianpaolo given the opportunity. Thank you!!What a great way to spend the day

We enjoyed spending the day with MariaGrazia driving through the Amalfi coast. Stopped for lunch and a tour of the town and also visited Ravelo.
