Omar could not make our booking and sent Rachid instead. Unfortunately Rachid’s driving was not relaxing at all as he felt the need to drive right up to the back of every car in front of us, and overtake when questionable space. The walk and lunch in the mountains with Omar the guide was excellent and so we thoroughly enjoyed being in the Atlas Mountains. I would recommend the trip but cannot comment on Omar. A perfect day. Omar is a superb guide and a lovely, sweet guy. We had great communications before the day, with Omar always responding to our questions quickly and fully. He even checked what sort of activities/experiences we would most want included in our day (and he fully accepted our request for no shopping!)....and if we had any food requirements. He picked us up at the hotel spot on time, explained the day he'd planned including timings and then off we went in his very comfortable car. We stopped at some lovely villages, viewpoints etc until hooking up with his colleague (another Omar) who would guide us on our walk. Fabulous walk, just the three of us mountain paths, eventually arriving at the large, impressive waterfalls. (There were a lot of people at the falls who had walked along the main, tourist thoroughfare in large groups). We enjoyed the waterfalls but were pleased when Omar took us back to the quiet paths on to a Berber House for lunch. This was a fabulous spot, traditional house with amazing views from the terrace where we ate....and what an awesome meal!!! Then we opted to continue walking for around another half hour. Omar the walking guide was included in the tour cost but we did of course tip him..... such a lovely guy! Then the drive back to the hotel stopping occasionally at viewpoints, villages etc. A truly wonderful day made prefect by Omar.....amd Omar! We would score this 11 hearts if possible!Superb day with Omar

Brahim is the perfect guide for the Atlas Mountains day excursion. His wealth of local knowledge and friendly disposition are wonderful. Top tip if you are on the tour while children are out of school bring a long a couple deflated soccer balls for the local less fortunate kids who, in a cute manner, try to block the mountain roads for sweets or soccer balls. Omar gave us an unforgettable experience on our private trip to the Atlas Mountains. He ensured a smooth and safe journey in a private van and his friend (another Omar) guided us on a scenic hike, followed by a lovely meal with views of the snowy peaks. We also visited a Berber market, rode camels at sunset, and enjoyed a luxury desert dinner he helped arrange. Omar even went the extra mile to organise a birthday cake for my parents birthday upon request, which we truly appreciated. His attention to detail and warm hospitality made this a memorable adventure. Highly recommended!

The trip to the Atlas Mountains and Berber village with Omar was one of those few days we will never forget as a family (kids are 18 and 16). Omar picked us up at our hotel and first took us to a Berber market, which is an experience in itself. Next, we were welcomed into an Imazighen home where we had mint tea and snacks and got a brief view of life in the village. From there we met another guide who took us on a one hour hike in the mountains. We are not mountain climbers and we did not find the hike to be a strain, so I think it should be fine for most folks if you are reasonably in shape. Just be sure to wear hiking shoes or at least good sneakers. It can be slippery. The views were AMAZING and the cool air in the hills was a welcome relief. I have a healthy fear of heights, but I was only truly anxious at one area of the climb. The guide was slightly more agile on the rocks than a mountain goat, so he made it much easier by showing us the best paths to take. We then had lunch at a local restaurant along the river, which was very scenic. On the way back to Marrakech we stopped at a few spots to take photos from the mountains; the drive is breathtaking (from the views and from the terror of the sheer cliffs on the side of the road). Omar speaks excellent English, is extremely courteous, and was happy to answer all of our many questions. If you can only do one tour in Morocco, do this one. 11 out of 10. Best day of our trip

Last minute booking as didn’t plan to take a trip. One of my favourite experiences in Morocco. Incredible hospitality. The views were out of this world. Felt safe with Mustapha as my mountain guide, he knows the mountains like the back of his hand. Didn’t break a sweat & patient. Both spoke fluent English so could help me navigate through any tricky spots. Had a great authentic meal cooked by Brahim’s mother at his home. Treated like family. Our tour to the Atlas Mountains with Omar was an unforgettable experience. We had an amazing day trip into the Atlas Mountains with Brahim. We went to his village Imlil where we trekked for a few hours (with Brahim’s friend Ibrahim!) and then had a wonderful lunch cooked by his mother in his home. My husband and I loved our day tour to the Atlas Mountains with Omar. Omar picked us up from our hotel in a comfortable car and was an excellent driver which was important because there are many winding mountain roads. We stopped at a village market which was unlike any market we have ever visited. Fascinating. Loved it. We then went on a 2 hour hike to the waterfalls and then to the home of Muhammad in the village of Mazik. Muhammad fed us a wonderful hot meal along with mint tea on his rooftop terrace that has stunning views of the mountains and valley. His home is also next to the village minaret and it was amazing to witness the call to prayer from his terrace. Omar drove us back to Marrakech through the desert so we also got to see that landscape. All in all, a perfect day and Omar provided exactly what we were seeking. Actually exceeded expectations by a lot! 5 stars!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Best day in Marrakech

We had a fantastic day with Brahim! The drive from Marrakech was nice and comfortable. We stopped in few places for sightseeing and authentic shopping. Brahim took us for a very nice walk, trying as much as possible to avoid crowded places, and showing us some of the best views on the valley. He took us to his cousin for a tasty yummy lunch. That was definitely a day we won’t forget, we strongly recommend Brahim! Fabulous and authentic experience

Overall a great experience, we can highly recommend Omar for any Marrakech and Atlas Mountains travellers. Before the day-trip we had a few questions which were immediately answered by Omar through the App. On the day, Omar picked us up at the agreed time and location in a nice and clean Mercedes van, he is a super careful and safe driver. We headed to Imlil with a short stop-over at a weekly Berber market, super interesting and well chosen, Omar! In Imlil his friend Mustafa was already waiting for us and we started a two hour hike where Mustafa provided a lot of insights and information about the region. Regional lunch was served at Mohammed’s place, truly enjoyable! On the way back to Marrakesh, Omar picked a different route and we passed a very nice high plateau with millions of small yellow flowers in full bloom, again well chosen. Our host Moulay really took great care throughout the day, he was informative during the booking, punctual, very safe driver and his people carrier was very clean. He explained a lot about local culture and we visited a real family home and stopped in a few interesting places for photos. After spending 2 days in the city we were eager to see a little bit more of the country. With only one day left, this day trip to the mountains was perfect! Brahim was a very pleasant guide who showed us beautiful spots and put us in contact with interesting people in his hometown. With his cousin we went on a hike of 2 hours and his mother served us a delicious lunch in her home. After the mountain views, Brahim took a different road to Marrakesh through the Agafay desert, with a tea-stop with a magnificent view! So many different landscapes on just one day! We had a fascinating trip into the Atlas Mountains with Omar, including a proper local market, an Argan oil factory, a lovely trek and a delicious lunch in a Berber home overlooking the mountains. Omar is a charming, considerate & very knowledgeable host (picking us up from our riad and even checking that the vegetarians in our group would be OK seeing meat at the market), the vehicle was outstandingly clean & comfortable and our trek guide Mohammed was also excellent. We had a fantastic day trip hiking in the Atlas mountains and we got an insight to the Berber community. They are still recovering from the major earthquake and the damage to homes and roads could be seen but they are a very resilient people. Our two Omars, Omar our driver and Omar our guide for the trek were wonderful and most helpful. We also enjoyed our lunch in a Berber family and were well looked after by our host Mohammed. You need to wear appropriate footwear and clothing as some the trails were quite rugged and very dusty. Highly recommended. Atlas mountain hike

We had a throughly enjoyable day in the mountains with Omar as our guide. Omar is friendly and knowledgeable and makes for a great host for the day. He hands over to his partner for the hike to the waterfalls. They were just as friendly and helpful making sure we stayed safe on the climb. Prepare for some heights as drive higher and as someone who doesn’t have a head of heights I felt incredibly safe with Omar’s driving. Lovely couple of stops on the way out and back and also a lovely lunch by the river. Omar was also kind enough to pick us up and drop us back to the hotel. Thank you Omar for a memorable day. Hassan and I had a great day together. He is knowledgeable and extremely pleasant. He is also from the area, so he pretty much knows everyone. I also like that it was easy to communicate with him before and during the trip. The trip to the Atlas mountains was a welcome trip out of Marrakech. While the climb up the mountain may not be for everyone (if you are scared of heights, I would not recommend), but I liked the exercise and I am very glad that I did it. My wife and I had an enjoyable day in the Atlas Mountains, guided by Omar. We were picked up by Omar in the scheduled hour, after around 2 hours drive, with couple of short stops we arrived to the Atlas Mountains, we hiked with a guide (one of Omars partners), for 2-3 hours in this beautiful area, visited the waterfalls, and ended the hike in a nice berber village. had a lunch setup for us in a traditional berber house, which was great. Omar took good care of us, he is very knowledgeable, we had good conversation and learned a lot, and much enjoyed the day. Highly recommended. Great day at the Atlas

we had a great time visiting the atlas mountains with a local flavor: Ibrahim could not make it, but his cousin was a perfect entainer, and we had the perfect trip: the drive to the mountains was very insightful and a big difference in comparison with the medina from Marrakech, we got a great explanation of the countryside, and visited a waterfall, made a walk towards the local Berber town with a great, traditional meal with a super friendly family... and had a mule to help us, which was great for our 10 y old girl! She also wanted a camel ride, which she got heading back to the city! we were emerged by the local way of living and were delighted to discover another marocco! we will come back!Atlas - beautiful trip

Abbiamo prenotato all'ultimo e la nostra guida doveva essere Ibrahim.... la nostra esperienza è stata positiva anche se lui poi non è stato il nostro "local". E' stato sostituito dal driver Ismael e dalla guida Omar, entrambi sono stati molto disponibili, è stata una piacevole giornata ad Imlil (trekking cascate e villaggi Berberi). Unico appunto il costo.... anche se eravamo in due abbiamo pagato per quattro. Il pranzo ci è stato offerto! Molto meglio dei mini bus affollatissimi!BELLA ESPERIENZA

We had a truly outstanding day with Omar whose love and passion for his country are infectious. We didn't know what to expect on our tour of the Atlas Mountains having never visited Marrakesh before and this day out did not disappoint. From pits stops at the Women's Cooperative and a traditional Berber market to a hike to the spectacular Imlil Waterfalls and an unforgettable lunch in the heart of Berber country, our excursion was truly eye-opening and nothing short of spectacular. Omar was excellent company and his depth of knowledge of the country and people of Morocco knows no bounds. I cannot recommend him as a tour guide and this tour in particular highly enough. Hassan was an absolutely amazing host for two uniquely spectacular outings during our visit to Marrakesh. Our first outing with Hassan was a full day trek to the Atlas Mountains. We started the day with an easy pick up in his very clean SUV where two cold waters awaited us. We connected with him immediately and within five minutes knew we were going to enjoy our day with him. His knowledge of Moroccan history and ability to share cultural information was incredible. He never tired of our questions and the conversation flowed easily. In addition, his sense of humor was great fun! We can honestly say we feel we have a new friend in him. As we made our way to the Ourika Valley and waterfalls, we stopped along the way for some successful shopping and also enjoyed a typical Berber “second” breakfast that was delicious! All of the stops we made were in very clean and well run places. We appreciated that greatly. When we arrived in the village of Fatima for our waterfall hike we met Amzil who was the guide to the falls and to our lunch in a typical Berber home.-which is something we will remember always. On our way back to Marrakesh, we stopped to ride camels-another unforgettable experience! Hassan even made a requested additional stop at a local mall when we told him we needed to purchase one more small suitcase. After such a perfect day together, we made sure to plan a second outing together. On our second outing, we went to Berber villages and sights we would have never seen on our own which included the mountains, desert, a lake, a delicious lunch at a beautiful lakeside restaurant, and an opportunity to meet local Moroccan people. One of the highlights of our day was sharing cookies with the children in the small villages we drove through. Once again, Hassan was a wealth of information and our time with him flew by! He even made sure we got to the airport directly from our tour with him. We can’t thank you enough for all that you did to make our trip so wonderful! Tenmirt, our friend! We look forward to more adventures when we return! Outstanding Experiences!

After spending several days in the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, this excursion was a wonderful way to slow down the pace and enjoy magnificent vistas of the Atlas mountains while also learning more about the local Berber population. Ibrahim ended up not being available for the tour, but he sent his brother Omar (also a Withlocals guide) and reached out several times to make sure everything was going as expected. Omar picked us up at the agreed meeting point right on time and drove us out to the Atlas mountains (Imlil). We took several stops along the way to enjoy the vistas and Omar took some great photos of us. He also gave us ample explanations about the Amazigh (Berber), their culture and language. Once arrived at the Imlil valley, we were met by Mustapha, a very kind local young man, who took us on a 2-hour hike along mountain paths, 2 waterfalls, and through the different villages. We ended the hike in his own village (where we ran into his grandmother--a sweet moment!), where we had a great late lunch at a local's home rather than some of the small restaurants catering to tourists near the waterfalls. This was another nice touch enhancing our "local" experience. After lunch, we drove back to Marrakech, and Omar took a different way to make sure we got to see the mountains from a different side and angle. Ibrahim, Omar and Mustapha all made sure we had the best possible time, and we felt a lot of care had been put into crafting this day tour. We very much recommend taking this tour with Ibrahim or Omar! A wonderful change of pace

We had a great day experiencing a different side to Morocco. We were driven into the mountains where we met our guide, Omar. He was very knowledgeable and informative about the natural a cultural way of life of the Berbers and the food at lunchtime was amazing. It was such a peaceful juxtaposition to the frenetic life of Marrakech. Peaceful day in the mountains

My family and I had a perfect day trip to the Atlas Mountains with Omar. We had a group ranging from 6 months to 65 years, and he was very accommodating. We loved the hike up to the waterfalls. Some of the footing was a little tricky, depending on your confidence level, but our guide helped us every step of the way. The best part was having tea in the Berber village and Omar’s excellent driving skills. If you’re thinking about doing this tour - I highly recommend Omar to lead your way! A perfect day trip!

My husband and I did the atlas mountain tour with Omar, and it has been the highlight of our trip to Morocco. It made a huge difference that we had Omar as our private guide- the trip would have not been the same if we were with a large group. He took us to viewpoints and places far from tourist groups and gave us an authentic glimpse of the Berber life in the mountains. I don’t want to reveal too much as to where he took us as it was a special experience that you just have to have for yourself!
