We corresponded with Marzia prior to our visit to Murano and Burano, so she could customize our trip to our interests. She did so wonderfully. She obviously was a ”local” because random people kept coming up to say “hi” to her. She took us to a lace making store in Burano and an off the beaten track glass factory in Murano and we were given the royal treatment in each; so much so that we felt somewhat obligated to spend more than we would have otherwise. To be fare, both places made it clear, up front, that there was no requirement to buy anything. But after being treated so well, it’s hard to say “no”. Our bad.Marzia was GREAT,

Marzia was amazing. We booked our Murano and Burano day tour weeks before arriving in Venice. The day before we decided to move from ware bud to water taxi. Through the whole booking process Marziaaas quick and helpful. Our day was nearly perfect! Seeing glass artisans at work and getting a full sense of the range of techniques and styles of glass making. After some strolling and shopping- she brought us to a small islan connected to Burano and through a gorgeous resort and censuses where we sampled some golden wine made in small production. Then off to Burano for exploring the island and all its beauty- ending with a stunning lunch. Marzia was knowledgeable, cool, accommodating and fun. Book her tour in a heartbeat! We had such an amazing day with Marzia! It was the perfect blend of history and fun all the while avoiding the crowds. She spent extra time with us and tailored our trip to what we wanted. She let us spend extra time where we wanted and added in a wine tasting trip on the fly. She was so sweet and fun, my 2 kids adored her. My family and I had Marzia show us the islands of Murano and Burano. We have a young family - 3 kids (twin boys age 10 and daughter 8). She was incredibly accommodating for us. She tailored a special day for us. Wow - what a great experience! Marzia scheduled a personalized glass making tour for us in Murano. I'll remember this experience for years (decades) to come. Our children were entranced with the experience - they can't stop talking about it. We were overwhelmed with the artistic capabilities - I have a newfound appreciation for the glass maestros (they are true artists) From there, we had a lunch at a fabulous local spot: Osteria La Perla ai Bisatei. The environment was electric - we had a blast socializing with the locals. More over, the cuisine was truly indigenous -- dishes you won't find in a 'chain' Italian restaurant. After Murano, we visited the gorgeous island of Burano and were treated to a lacemaking demonstration. Again, we were mesmerized by the skill and craftsmanship. Throughout the day, Marzia sprinkled in all sorts of engrossing historical tidbits. She is a local Venecian - and actually worked on the island for Murano for many years. She was extremely sociable and knowledgeable. At the end of the day, we were running tight on time. We had a taxi to catch for our flight. Marzia showcased her Venetian wherewithal - and expertly navigated us through the streets (more like a maze!) of Venice! This was above and beyond what she needed to do. Marzia was absolutely amazing! I had organized a tour for my mom who was going to be traveling solo to Venice and wanted to see some sights! Marzia went above and beyond to ensure my mom had a safe and comfortable experience- even going as far as to meeting my mom at her hotel instead of at the meeting point! Der Trip nach Murano und Burano war ein entspannter Tagesausflug. In Murano haben wir einen Einblick in die hohe Glasbläserkunst erhalten. Die anschließende Führung durch die Kunstsammlung der Glasbläserei war sehr interessant doch etwas zu sehr auf einen möglichen Kauf ausgerichtet (hochpreisige Kunstwerke) und dennoch sehr informativ. Leider haben wir vom Ort Murano nicht viel gesehen, da es dann gleich in das beschauliche Burano weiterging. Eine Besichtigung lohnt sich. Die bunten Häuser und die beschauliche Stimmung lohnen sich.Murano und Burano erleben

Our tour with Lori’s was full of knowledge and adventure. From the initial meet up we began with stories of the city and destinations that were off the beaten path. Lori’s was fantastic at reading what our interests were and catered the tour as we went making sure that we wouldn’t miss an important stop. Das Inselhopping mit Valerio war einfach ein Erlebnis! Als gebürtiger Venezianer, der viel in der Welt herumgekommen ist, hat er seine Passion zum Beruf gemacht. Man spürt sofort, dass er als Guide seine Bestimmung gefunden hat. Wir besuchten mit ihm neben dem ruhigen Mazzorbo auch seine Heimatinsel Murano. Die Tour war einfach fantastisch. Ruhige Orte abseits der Touristenströme und tolle kleine Geschäfte luden zum Träumen und auch zum Kaufen ein. Wir haben Dank Valerios Einkaufs-Tipps einige Dinge gefunden, nach denen wir schon gesucht hatten. Er führte uns zu den passenden Stellen und wir waren begeistert. Mit seinem guten Deutsch konnte er uns viel über die Historie und auch über die Glaskunst auf Murano erzählen und dies uns sehr anschaulich zeigen. Seinen Restauranttipps auf Murano sollte man unbedingt folgen. Wir haben uns für das kleine Restaurant (Osteria Acquastanca) mit der schmalen Karte voller hausgemachter Spezialitäten entschieden. Es hat einen kleinen Innenhof, in dem es sich gut verweilen lässt. Das Essen war wundervoll. Vielen Dank für diese tollen Stunden mit Dir und viele Grüße an Monika die Glaskünstlerin und Alessandro den Balsamico-Künstler.Was für eine tolle Tour!

Loris was wonderful from our initial greeting and even after we spend the day with him back in Venice. Not only was he very personable, he was very considerate of the needs group, (answered questions, slowed down to accommodate older member in group,etc). We visited and did many things on the tour; these are some of my favorites. We started in Murano; visited a local bakery and he treated us to a local favorite cookie, visited the Murano glass showroom, and gave us a wealth of information about the island. At Burono, we visited Chiesa dei Santi Pietro e Caterina, toured a lace museum and interacted with a lovely lady that was embroidering a piece. In addition, we stopped at a local community garden that grows produce for a Michelin restaurant. After a fun-filled day on the islands, he took the time and walked us to the narrowest street in Venice. An extra bonus! Murano/Burono

Mensch Valerio, was soll ich hier bloß schreiben? Die zwei Tage mit dir waren einfach Phantastisch! Sie sind wie im Flug vergangen. Lena und ich haben uns von der ersten Sekunde an bei dir Wohl gefühlt. Nachdem wir bereits am Vor- und Nachmittag den Touristenmassen gefolgt sind war der frühe Abend abseits der Touristenpfade mit dir gemeinsam die pure Erholung. Du hast ein unfassbar gutes Wissen, dein Deutsch? Perfekt! Du hattest auf alles eine Antwort. Das nächtliche Venedig ist ein Traum und deine Restaurant Empfehlung war auch klasse. Am zweiten Tag haben wir mit dir die Stadt verlassen und du hast uns Burano & Murano gezeigt. Was für wunderschöne Orte.. Als wären wir mit einem alten Freund unterwegs gewesen!
