I can't say enough about how much fun we had with Michele walking around Florence. We learned so much but it wasn't just dry history and dates. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the city, its history and interesting sites. He's also a very entertaining and personable guy. I would highly recommend booking a tour with him. Michele was a wonderful and thoughtful host as he drove me and my fiance and mother around Tuscany all day on a personalized experience based on our interests. We started the day visiting the American WW2 memorial in Chianti, then stopped in Monterigioni. Which was super fun. We had a long luxurious lunch at a vineyard that was a highlight of our trip then ended the day visiting San Gimnagno with wonderful gelato paid for by Michele. I would recommend him to anyone interested in the art and culture of Tuscany and just having a good time in general. A Tuscan experience like no other

Michele is a very good guide, the experience was what he wanted to show me. Not what I had requested and he approved and he charged me $500. As you can imagine I had clearly stated what I wanted for a tour where I wanted to go, it was clearly spelled out in the conversations between him and I three months before the start of the tour. On the morning of the tour, I got my map out and said OK I’m ready to go and he said that’s not the tour we’re doing that tour for another time when you come , and I was not going to ruin my trip and argue the point with him. I also had two other guides cancel out for a trip and Pisa and one for a tour of the city of Florence both canceled out within a week of the trip. I have very much been a fan of Withlocals for the past three years I will not use them again. Again I very much enjoyed the company of Michele and find him a very good guide. But he did not at all listen to my request and charged me $500 to sit at a winery tasting for three hours and I don’t even drink wine?!. I was very disappointed. Not ehst i reqofor a custom tour.

We were a group of 4 adults. Our day with Michele started at 9 am and we headed to Piazzale Michelangelo for an entertaining history of Florence and stories of historical families and places. Michele engaged us in the first meeting. We drove to a beautiful private winery where we ate & tasted wine like kings and queens. Then Michele drove us down the most beautiful scenic road in Tuscany toward San Gimignano, where we walked the quaint cobblestone streets and admired the gorgeous views. The award-winning Gelato was a huge treat here as well! Overall, I would highly recommend booking a tour with Michele!! He is incredibly friendly, accommodating and full of so much knowledge. At the end of the day, he became more than our guide -- he became a friend that we will continue to connect with. Incredible tour guide; beautiful sights

My daughter and I had a magical day in Tuscany with our local guide Michele. He did a wonderful job of balancing the art, history and culture throughout the day with some personal things we wanted to experience. The day did not disappoint with Michele! We started our morning off at Piazzale Michaelangelo taking in the beautiful skyline of Florence. Other stops during the day included the Florence American Cemetery; coffee and strolling the wonderful artisan shops of the medieval walled town of Monteriggioni; lunch, wine tasting and tour in the hills outside of San Gimignano at the beautiful Fontaleoni winery; and we ended our magical day walking through San Gimignano, soaking up the views, and eating some amazing gelato. Michele took the 3 of us to several destinations as planned and was flexible when we made a slight change and when one location was closed due to an event. His passion for the history and culture of the places we went to was much appreciated. He explained the extensive training required to be a licensed tour guide and it showed as he was able to offer stories and answer our questions about Florence and the surrounding regions. On to Tuscany after that and a laid back, wonderful afternoon followed with our stop and lunch at a charming family winery with a very gracious owner who was equally passionate about her family's history in making some delicious wine and food ! Our group enjoys being with people who are "easy" to be around and enjoy and all our expectations were met. You will want to take this tour with Michele and if you remind him about "cracking open a window", you will probably get a laugh ! Like we spent the day with a friend !

We had a fantastic day with Michele. It was one of the highlights of our entire trip. We visited Piazzale Michaelangelo and the church above it (Chiesa di San Salvatore) for fantastic views of the city. Then we drove out to a family winery in Tuscany in Michele’s red minicooper for a fantastic lunch, wine tasting and amazing views of the Tuscany landscape. Then we visited San Gimignano, a medieval city where Michele previously lived, and Michele introduced us to many aspects of the medieval town which only a former local would know. The entire trip was like a drive in the countryside with a close friend. Michele also told us about Napolitan culture and language (since he’s originally from Napoli) and introduced us to contemporary Napolitan music artists. If you are interested in getting away from the tourist crowds in Florence for a day and want to breath in a bit of the Tuscany countryside, we highly recommend you book a day with Michele. Our day consisted of a visit to Montereggioni and San Gimignano. Michele’s knowledge of these towns and history was good as he had lived and worked in this area previously. He was easy going, polite, personable and flexible to our needs as were 8 weeks into our Europe holiday we were a little overdosed on cathedrals and religious paintings. Wondering these medieval Towns was a great way to spend the day and Michele had booked us into an amazing little restaurant in San Gimignano called “Peruca”, this was by far the best Italian food and service we had for our time in Italy. Marco was an amazing tour guide for myself and three girlfriends on the Chianti and Tuscany in a Day tour. We had originally booked pre-Covid and had to reschedule when our trip was cancelled - both bookings were very smooth and Marco was very accommodating. A private driver picked us up from our Air BNB and drove us through the countryside. We visited so many special and beautiful sites that tell a story of Florence and Italy in general. The trip felt very personalized. Marco was very attentive to all of our needs, answered all of our questions, was a wealth of knowledge and so passionate about Italy. We spent a very enjoyable day with Lorenzo in Tuscany. He picked us up promptly at our hotel. We visited the beautiful Monestary overlooking Firenze. What a magnificent view of the city. Many pics Next we visited a wonderful family owned vineyard with outstanding local wine We are lunch at a local restaurant near Greve and we were the only tourists. We have been to Tuscany a few times before and Lorenzo should us a side we hadn’t seen before. A job well done, Lorenzo. Highly recommend. Knowledgeable, cheerful, dependable, and there to make your adventure the best it can be. This is Lorenzo - a seasoned and exceptionally professional tour guide who Mary and I consider a new friend. Lorenzo will tailor the tour for you; and he doesn't shut it down if the tour goes long. His car is very nice; and unlike most Italians, he drives safely and in control at all times (even honking ahead of those tight curves on those rural roads). He gets Americans and communicates exceptionally well (His wife is a transplanted Texan). This is a great tour; and I doubt that there is anyone in all of Tuscany who does it as well as Lorenzo!This guide is fabulous!

A couple of days ago we spent the day with Lorenzo exploring the Tuscan countryside. We requested visits to both a small Chianti vineyard and to San Gimignano. Lorenzo started by taking us to a beautiful viewpoint overlooking Florence. We then explored the countryside, stopped for charcuterie in Greve, tasted wines at the charming Casaloste vineyard (Christina, who worked at the vineyard and helped us was a true delight), lunch in Panzano and then finished with hands down the best gelato I have ever had in San Gimignano. The entire day was a delight...thanks Lorenzo!Fantastic day! Wonderful guide!

Thank you Lorenzo for taking us into Florence and to 2 wonderful vineyards for wine tasting and lunch. You were on time and communicated excellently as we corresponded about the tour. After returning home we all agreed it was our best day in Italy! The freshly prepared meal by the "mum" of the vineyard was absolutely unforgettable: homemade pumpkin pasta, fresh figs, tomatoes and herbs from her garden and the wine from the grapes grown to our right on this mountaintop vineyard. She even made the delicious balsamic vinegar! We loved your guiding and stopping for pictures, I especially loved the beautiful Cathedral/Monestery overlooking Florence where the choir was singing like angels! The journey that Marco took us on was the most beautiful and culturally enriching experiences of my life. We met at the train station in Firenze, and began our adventure at Piazzale Michelangelo. The terrace offers the most breathtaking view of Firenze, as it overlooks the entire city. It is difficult to really process the magnitude of the view laid out before you, with domes, gardens, bridges and rolling hills as far as the eye can see. It is truly awe inspiring. From there, we ventured to a small town called Impruneta that is famous for terra cotta. We had the opportunity to get an inside look at an artisan terra cotta workshop and watch masters create beautiful custom planters and tiles with minimal tools. The talent of the sculptors was second to none, and it was absolutely fascinating to watch them work and listen to them talk about the craft they've spent much of their lives mastering. We then moved on through the beautiful hills of the Chianti region to a very small artisan vineyard called Le Masse Di Lamole; the wonderful and kind owners took the time from their busy schedule to welcome us and show us around the most important parts of their operation. They were lovely, welcoming, kind and humble people that were very passionate about their craft. To end our tour of their operation, they offered us a tasting of several wines from their selection. Every wine we tried was amazing and I left with three bottles that I'm afraid to open because I might never get to taste them again when they're gone. Marco then brought us back down from the hills to a very charming small town called Greve. Wow. Everything about this town made me want to move in. The local butcher shop we had lunch at was fantastic and we absolutely gorged ourselves on decadent charcuterie boards. We then browsed around the small town square that was full of artisan craft shops and friendly locals and enjoyed coffee and gelato. Before we left town, Marco brought us to an awesome wine bar where we tasted fine wines to our heart's delight. Our final stop was in a tiny medieval village called Montefioralle. It was like something from a fantasy novel, with ancient walls incorporated into the castle keep-like village. The experience was beautiful, surreal and moving, something I will never forget. Throughout the entire adventure, Marco captivated us with a deep and passionate knowledge of history and culture of the places we visited. He was personable, kind, wise and he certainly knows how to lead a life-changing adventure. This experience is enriching, impactful and, dare I say, life changing. I left with a new perspective on life, and rich with the knowledge and experience that Marco provided and facilitated. We had an absolutely wonderful full day with Lorenzo. He was very accommodating to our requests and added so much to the experience. I like his name- Chatty Local; but not in a bad way. He was very educated and informed on many subjects. His style was very respectful and was able to share his beautiful country with us from the wine tour with the wine maker, to a butcher shop and restaurant; we would have never known about to a visit to a Monastery with special tour privileges. We hadden een Tour geboekt voor 4 personen en Lorenzo bracht ons eerst naar een oud klooster met een mooi uitzicht over de stad Florence . Omdat er op dat moment een wijnfestival was in Greve , een dorpje in Toscane , stelde hij voor om daar vervolgens naar toe te gaan. Hiervoor moesten we 10 euro pp extra betalen . Op zichzelf zou dat prima zijn geweest, ware het niet dat de andere onderdelen van de Tour helemaal niet meer aan bod zijn gekomen . Dus geen bezoek aan een winery , geen bezoek aan een locale pottenbakker en ook kregen we niet de twee glazen wijn. De Tour was ook een half uur eerder klaar. Al met al een wat teleurstellende ervaring. Het zou fijn geweest zijn als we de consequenties van het bezoek aan Greve voor de rest van het programma van te voren hadden geweten. Niet wat we hadden geboekt en waarvoor we hadden betaald

I had great time with Lorenzo, who picked me up at airport and brought me to taste some Tuscany wine and food on my way to a friend's wedding organised in the middle of the countryside. I got to enjoy lovely sceneries and friendly chatting on this tailored tour. Without Lorenzo I would not have even found the party place! He also brought me back after couple days of serious partying and gave me a glimpse of culinary delights of the Florence street markets. Indeed, this was exactly what I had hoped for, as currently overwhelmed with work I could not have concentrated on art exhibitions but needed just relaxing time and a glass of excellent organic Italian wine. Lorenzo is a professional guide who is quite knowledgeable about the history of the region. The highlight of the tour was the winery tour and tasting at Ottomani. This small operation was delightful and the owner who hosts us was passionate about the vineyard, and his work. Lorenzo is fluent in English and a safe driver so spending the day was low stress like taking a day trip with an old friend. What an amazing day Marco gave us.. He picked us up at our hotel as we weren’t near the meeting point. His knowledge about every part of the day was incredible.. from the Terracotta Factory to the Monastery and everything in between. Lorenzo took us around in a great, comfortable car all around Chianti. He stopped in a perfect mix of places and allowed us to pick how long in each place. It was an incredible day, and my mom can’t stop talking about it. Lorenzo also customized the tour to drop us off in Pisa so we can catch the train to go up north. Lorenzo knows a ton and knows the best stops to go, can’t recommend him enough!An awesome day!

We had such a lovely day in Tuscany with Lorenzo! He made us feel like we knew him for a long time and was very knowledgeable about life in Tuscany and wine tasting. He even demonstrated to us how to smell and taste wine. We also drove to little towns that were not congested with tourists and had lunch at a family owned winery so the whole trip felt really authentic. Our family of 4 just returned home from our 10-day vacation in Italy. On our journey home we all agreed that our day in Tuscany with Marco was truly the highlight. All of us like different things when traveling but somehow Marco's itinerary was perfect for the whole family. He started the day by letting us know that we could modify the agenda but we decided to stay with what he had planned. So glad we did because there was such a nice variety. We enjoyed learning about the Chianti wine region, local Tuscan food, art & history. Marco had a wonderful rapport with all of the proprietors along the way which made the trip even more special and authentic. This was a truly memorable experience. Lorenzo was full of knowledge on wine and the areas that we visited. Not only did he take us to amazing cellars and vineyards he took the time to pull over and give us amazing picture opportunities. If we were interested in an area he went out of his way to make it happen. We felt like VIP guests everywhere we went!!! So much better than a group tour with a touring company!! Lorenzo put together a wonderful, personalized day for us based on what we told him we liked to do. It was a perfect taste of the countryside. We aren’t huge wine drinkers so we didn’t want to do a bunch of wineries but wanted to stop at one to get that experience and Lorenzo took us to a great one. We had a personal tasting and a tour with the owner, an experience we loved. Along the way, Lorenzo also took us to a beautiful church, a small village where we had a fantastic lunch, and a quaint town where we walked around and had some coffee and pastry, just to name a few highlights. Along the scenic drive, he stopped to let us get out, take pictures and admire the view. He gave us interesting info and historical details along the way too. We happened to pass a little street market driving through one town and he even made an impromptu stop so we could check it out, never making us feel rushed. This was one of the most memorable days of our trip and one we’ll never forget. We will be recommending Lorenzo to any of our friends who plan to visit Florence. Thank you, Lorenzo! Amazing day.
